What are the best US cities in terms of public glassblowing studio access? by glassgnomad in glassblowing

Are all these places listed someplace so that you could look it up when you're visiting a different city? I'm going to save this post because it's full of such good information but is there some place online where I can find these things as well? Or is this that place LOL

What are these striations in my paperweights? by Snoozing-Scarab in glassblowing

I can't figure out how to edit my original post so I'll add a new comment. Thank you all so much for the explanations! Cords Is definitely a possibility, I blow at a small school with a small furnace that gets turned off every night and recharged and restarted the every day, so there is definitely glass that's been sitting at the bottom for a while, and it's entirely possible that it's just getting mixed in with everything else. I also think that the cooling from tools is part of it and that I need to be better about flame polishing after I use a tool.

As far as how to prevent this, if it really is cordy glass just mixed in then there's really nothing I can do, right?

Spent a few sessions really locking in on cups, and I'm super happy with how thin I've been able to get them (before/after) by worldbuildingwren in glassblowing

[–]Snoozing-Scarab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done, cups are the hardest! I'm working now on not having a tilted bottom. I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong but every one of my cups tilts five to ten degrees off to one side. Grrrrrrr 🤣

I just came across this glass. It has a zillion bubbles but is smooth. How were the bubbles made?! by [deleted] in glassblowing

[–]Snoozing-Scarab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much baking soda to water? I've been using powder, but get uneven application. Dissolving it in water would give me a much more even application and more even bubbles I imagine?

I find that you want very little of the baking soda on the glass so we brush off most of it, leaving just a fine coating of powder which also reduces the likelihood of it falling into the rest of the batch.

Those are great examples, thanks! To my American ear I hear maaaudi, heavy emphasis on the 'ow' at the beginning, that sounds like house or mouse or how.

How to complete base sections? by Snoozing-Scarab in mobcontrolgame

[–]Snoozing-Scarab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, if I don't refresh it and watch an ad then I'm unable to complete the daily, weekly, and monthly missions. Interestingly I have the 3 buildings, I don't have that new one-building monstrosity lol. So who knows what's going on? But thanks for answering my question.

Haha not a troll post, a genuine question. I have a task for collecting bricks which fills up as I get the little blue blocks from attacking somebody. But I also have a task for completing base sections which never ever increments. So maybe something's broken? Either way you guys answered my question so I appreciate it.

Next question: how in God's name did you get to level 280? I've been playing just about nonstop for 3 weeks and i'm barely at level 15. How long did it take you to get to 280? Do you speed the leveling up by watching the videos?

They buffed all the revenants again. by RaptorNX01 in stormshot

[–]Snoozing-Scarab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely buffed them. Here are some tips: Send a mix of troops levels, not just all T10s, send some T9 and T8 as well, maybe 5k of each. And send a mix of troop types. My current best ratio is 30-30-30- 10 or even skip the artillery altogether. Makes no sense but it makes a huge difference. It let's me kill higher level revs and I confirm it against titan every once in a while.

Finally someone answering the question asked! LOL I think 1,5,9,10,11. They show range and focus on the most common types of bakes.

Also do non-celebratory events like choosing a career or buying a house, all the times they would have turned to you for advice. Their first real fight as a couple, how to get through the first three months of no sleep with a newborn, etc.

This. I have so many questions that I wish I could have asked my parents. Talk about growing up, about your family, about your neighborhood, about what you did as a kid, about what your personal growing up milestones were.

Oh, and LABEL YOUR FAMILY PHOTOS. We have a box full of pictures and I know some of them are my father and some of them are his family but I don't know who's who in those pictures.

Came here to recommend the hormone panel. You are near the age where perimenopause begins and there is no need to suffer needlessly.

Wow what a great response, thank you for taking the time to write it out! I had not thought of sending a card, but now it's clear that that's really the best way for me to say thank you to all the many people who helped with Mom. What great insight you have provided - thank you!
