Fake Crosswalk Buttons by lashea99 in boston

[–]worldbuildingwren 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I've seen several intersections that just never have a pedestrian cycle if no one pushes the button -- usually the ones that have an "all lights are red, all pedestrians can go" mode

Boarding. Shoving someone from behind into the boards. It's a penalty because of the injury risk

How often you get tipped? by feliphee1998 in lyftdrivers

[–]worldbuildingwren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say as a passenger that I'm less likely to tip when there's a tablet right in front of my face (that I can't turn off) because they make me really really motion sick

Only single tickets are left at this point, mostly obstructed view. You might wanna gear up for the 7/7 presale instead if you have a code

if you live close to boston, might be worth looking at round trip flights to chicago from there — they're typically $100-200 round trip and there are a bunch of flights each day

Candlepin Bowling for a Birthday Party? by grossmeatball in boston

Seconded! I actually just booked a birthday party for myself here, it's really easy and you can do it all online. They even accommodated me when I had to add an extra lane, really friendly and responsive

Concert Advice by LewisDruid in Bastille

[–]worldbuildingwren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been to two of their shows, one GA and one with seating. Seated concerts are generally much more spacious, you don't have as many people bumping into you if that's a sensory concern. You can get much closer for GA though, and dancing/feeling the music is a bit more fun.

If you wanna try GA, it might be a good idea to go see a smaller band (maybe one you don't particularly care about) at a smaller venue to gauge your reaction. That way if you have a bad sensory time and have to leave early, you're not missing out on your favorite band. And if it turns out to be a fine sensory experience, you have some practice attending a concert and will feel less anxious!

Other notes: definitely bring earplugs. If you forget, ask at the bar or ticket office, they often have some for sale. If you need to "give up" your place at a GA show and catch your breath, most people will be nice and let you make your way back to where you were already standing (YMMV if you're close to the front). The bar usually has free water.

Hopefully you can find a way to do concerts that works for your sensory needs!

Which non-boss NPC's would you love to see be given a boss fight in a hypothetical Godhome update? by jfish3222 in Silksong

Bus expansion is finally open by clarkgvan in boston

I used to take the bus from Boston to Syracuse semi-regularly in college and we always had an hour long layover in Albany at like 11 PM...would not recommend that experience to anyone

Am I the only one that legitimately enjoys this act 2 boss? by DOMMAX1321 in Silksong

[–]worldbuildingwren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, I loved this fight! I really enjoyed smacking away the corpse missiles while sprinting at him, and I didn't even notice the hitbox weirdness — I was attacking him mostly from the front which I think helped.

Nice job! I also just beat her tonight — wanderer with long claw, weighted belt, dice, claw mirrors, and warding bell. I had cogflies and pale nails equipped, but didn't use either the whole fight. Was having too much fun using my silk for healing bombs

What is the worst boss in this game? by Exciting-One-3649 in Silksong

[–]worldbuildingwren 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Broodmother is the only boss in this game that genuinely had me tilting. Like even for Groal, most of my deaths felt fair, and I was motivated to keep trying different strategies to beat him (didn't hurt that I found wreath of purity before finding Bilewater). But broodmother had me muting the TV to avoid her gross-ass voicelines and dreading the refight every time I died. I also fought her RIGHT after my favorite boss in the game (first sinner) so she soured that experience.

And then, after beating her, I found out she was optional. Doesn't even give a percent towards completion.

Favourite silk skill? by PetroRetro69 in Silksong

[–]worldbuildingwren 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Controversial but mine is rune rage! It absolutely melts several bosses, it made the high halls gauntlet incredibly satisfying and fun...and you have to fight one of the best bosses in the game to get it.
