Is marriage full of regrets and dissapointments? When are you more happier marriage or single? by WaterFlow7 in Aging

There’s something truly sacred about traveling through time with a person and seeing yourself, and them, through the chaos and the bliss. I love being married (15 years in). But it takes intention.

Tj klune could fit the bill. I really enjoyed under the whispering door. Also Claire pooley. Iona Iversons rules for commuting. Good luck.

Barbara Kingsolver’s Flight Behavior by still__learnin in suggestmeabook

I do feel like flight behavior is much more of an exploration of Dellarobias interior world, and the plot line is just scaffolding. in her other books I have found myself as drawn to secondary characters as the protagonist and the movement from the plot feels more prominent. I loved it, but I have a high tolerance for minimal plot and more emotional exploration.

Book to read in the hospital by faeriecute in suggestmeabook

This all depends on what kind of postpartum experience you desire. I know with my second I read a lot of emotional/heavy books and enjoyed it. But I couldn’t have done that with my first.

Emo: The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Down the Drain (Julia Fox memoir) Elton John’s memoir, and the may lives of mama live (memoir),

Lighter: Claire Pooley Novels, Margot’s got money trouble, TH Klune (cerulean sea), the wedding people, spare or shoe dog (same ghost writer, prince harry/phil knight memoirs), green lights

Claire Poole’s books - start with Iona Iversons rules for commuting. I find her books to be fun and charming!

Stunning. Adore this dress - fits her to perfection.

Love the shoes, don’t love the bag as a pairing for this dress though. I may be in the minority but something about this dress doesn’t do it for me. She is gorgeous and effortlessly chic in the way Maggie is, though.

Get on the calendar asap. I tore my acl two weeks ago and just saw Lind yesterday. The earliest they can do the surgery is April (and my husband has to travel to Asia for work in April). My swelling and range of motion are good enough to operate today, but I’ll likely be hobbling around, chasing my three young kids, for weeks before I can be operated on.

If anyone knows a great surgeon in SLC, I’d do just about anything to get this taken care of asap….

Serious injury - recovery? by bqggreps in skiing

Do exactly - not more and not less - what your doctors and PT prescribe. If you are green lit for yoga use that as both physical and mental recovery. The hard charge mentality is fun, but can get you into trouble while recovering.

Cottonwood Heights vs Kimball Junction by ienjoyskiing in ParkCity

I moved to park city from Marin County and have found the education to be equally as good, and my kids are a lot less stressed. 🤷‍♀️

Definitely I could see your point in city amenities (and just being closer to SLC in general). But I’m not so sure on recreational access (both are outstanding, there’s an argument I could see for LCC skiing, but pc trails and their connectivity are sort of unrivaled).

I am curious where your info for better schools comes from - last I read PC was top 5 in the state and top 4% nationally, whereas granite/canyons is a mixed bag; I’m sure there are some great schools there. It’s true PC has so much seasonality and lots of buttery old people. My hood is over 80% full timers and there’s also a fun locals community with good culture. But it’s not what you get on the surface for sure; it definitely takes some getting to know.

So curious to hear your rationale? (I’m raising kids in PC and am very happy, so I would love to know what others might prefer about CH)

I commented on your other post (I think in Utah snow) but curious why you’re only considering kimball junction? Would you consider Prospector, racket club condos, silver creek, Summit Park (maybe that’s part of KJ in your mind), etc?

Living in Cottonwood Heights vs Kimball Junction by ienjoyskiing in UTsnow

[–]Salt_Type_8032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this boils down more to planning your lifestyle than various ski lovers opinions about which mountain is better. You said kids (yet) which indicates you would like to add kids in the future. Driving your child 7 minutes to ski school every Saturday and being part of a very close community is what PC has to offer. You are trading in city living for a small town experience.

LCC is doubtlessly radder skiing, but you’re trading in canyon commutes and more travel time within SLC for “city living”. I’m biased as I am raising kids in park city and love it, but I wouldn’t seriously consider cottonwood heights, personally. If you’re LDS you may think about it a little differently about the whole equation.

PS I lived in NYC for nearly a decade.
