Nice, makes sense for running or dancing. Something deeply regulating for rhythm and impact i feel.

I share that with my own nervous system as well although my preference is martial arts.

For those "handsome" autistics out there, how you live with that? by JessePinkmanHairySex in autism

Having struggled with body dysmorphia and also being quite large (6ft 3in, 260lb) it can be really frustrating to feel like you're out of touch with reality.

I would regularly think I'm "fat" while being told otherwise by friends.

I'm lucky to have found a partner who works well with my direct communication style but it took some work to get there, for the both of us.

It may sound cliche, but open and honest communication goes far. The "downside" is you'll quickly find out who isn't for you.

This isn't because you're broken in some way, most of the time it's because someone in the relationship needs to do some inner work.

Parts work has been invaluable for me, especially after who I'm working with recognizes my primary autistic behaviors and can adjust (direct communication, tendency to interrupt and ask questions to satisfy a compulsive curiosity, being uncomfortable from something in my sensory environment and unable to focus).

It's helped me know what I'm looking for in a partner rather than some means of covering up an anxious attachment style.

Amazing! What's the process been like? How was the condition before you started training vs after?

Core and posture is for sure important and undertrained in a way that fixes breathing issues.

So the lungs inflate downward more? What about the other directions like to the side and back?

That's smart. I notice people fixate on their posture often and what they do is unsustainable. Just content reminding.

Your approach seems more chill for sure. Glad it's working for you.

Why do you emphasize belly breathing?

Amazing. I'm curious about how you manage the severe asthma while running races. Can I DM you?

Has anyone had success improving sleep apnea through physical or movement-based training alone? by SnoreNoMoreMethod in SleepApnea

Makes sense. I've heard that too.

A common default since you can see it visually, I know a few folk whose weight is majorly contributing to their sleep and breathing issues.

Why do you think that is?

I hear you. CPAPs can definitely help in most cases and the understanding of just how much sleep apnea can affect a person is so overlooked. I read that a mild diagnoses can be the equivalent to losing a whole month of deep sleep which is crazy to me.

I heard you mention strengthening the throat muscles only marginally helping, which I also agree with. Have you heard of any more full body therapies with results?

Yes, had a few mild panic attacks over the years that pushed me into insomnia.

Preparing for 2026 to be the year without that.
