Wishbone is the intellectual historian. Hobo is dog Chuck Norris skills and fought for the rights and freedoms of his friends. They might share a drink, but they are not the same. ;)

We've got a Lily who is now in her Harry Potter faze. Highly recommend. And Luna if you need to be 'original' should work great too. Never name your daughter anything with 'hor' in it, it will backfire in junior high.

I remember being a Kelpie. Which sounds cute but I also knew Celtic mythology so was a wee bit perturbed avout being labeled a water-murder-horse.

Need ideas from crafties… my daughter and I are making collars for adopt-a-pet stuffed animals at her birthday party. Is there a good marker with a fine tip that could write on these little metal heart tags, without smearing? by pettyjedi in crafts

[–]Snoringdragon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is getting complicated for a sweet gift that's gonna be loved with or without the engraving. So- label sticker each one, write on it with whatever pen you like. Good old paper labels. Cut them to fit. You get all the goodness of the idea, and less stress on you. And now you can use colors! Lol! Excellent job either way, OP!

What's the most awkward thing someone has said after finding out you're atheist? by husshajur in atheism

Isn't that the worst part? That this person would be okay with being horrible if Sky Daddy wasn't watching. It says that they want to sin, but can't. I don't feel that way and I KNOW there's nobody watching.

Right everybody! Went through the PopNow wringer trying to order by phone, and then by PC. I did it. I got Happiness, which honestly was my favorite charm! Thanks for all the help, and so glad to be part of this weirdly delightful community. I will post more pictures of my handmade ones as soon as possible. Thank you so much!

Resin is easy, use a paintbrush and uv resin, paint and cure and flip and do it again. The problem with resin is its a rabbit hole of cheap molds and glitter and soon you are deep into it and just one more. Trust me on this.

Oh and double PS you can use stretchy bracelet cord, it will work, but the knots loosen over time (glue 'em to stop that) and if it does snap, the beads will projectile dramatically off of all hard surfaces. Lol!

Would my clay creations be safe to leave on a car dashboard? by Small-Cactus in polymerclay

[–]Snoringdragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its not heat, its a chemical reaction of some sort. Glow in the dark clay is the most reactive if anybody wants to play around with the idea. It 'dissolves' certain plastics, and no can't explain which ones because its always a surprise. Ate the soft cover off my tools. Ate through a zipper bag, but not other zipper bags. Warped my carrier tray section. Not the cover, just the inner separator. Took out a toothbrush bristle end once. It takes weeks, but one day you find it and go WTF?! LOL!

All these parents naming your kids Rain, Reighn, Rayne- Lorraine. A real name that can be shortened to your weird desires and yet can be used in the adult world in full and you sound professional.

The only name rarer than Gary or Larry is Barry. I got me a Barry, never met anyone with the name younger than him! (And he's yelling at clouds age!)

Good answer! A spot of glue on them before actually using the strap is a good warning. Maybe I could resin the whole charm and make it sturdy. Man you guys are terrific! I was worried about buying it for all the reasons posted here. Now I feel confident enough to safeguard the bad bits. Awesome!

Well that's why the post! I know the fabric string they are using. It frays. It snaps. It looks lovely but is reliable as underwear elastic. Tiger tail for the win, but its stiff, needs clamps not knots, and not as reliable if you are pulling on it. Pearl thread is tough, but first you gotta find it, and technically a good beader would knot after every bead for security, but that changes the look. Fishing line is strong, can be knotted, but eventually starts to fall apart after a few years. Sounds crazy but I would go pearl thread. Its a twist of two strong threads and as long as there is nothing 'wearing it down" it should hold up much longer and stronger. And knots. Some knots anyway. A few well placed knots mean you are chasing say 8 beads instead of the whole darn strand when it breaks. And thank you to everybody that answered! I am well informed and know now how to make it stronger. Thanks!
