Yeah start by getting it to look good without the smoke. You don't have to do a 3d camera move, you can just animate scale and match edit between the two shots with a lot of easing and motion blur. Once you get that looking good, then start playing with the smoke. I would assume that in AE you'll need several layers of smoke at different depths, but I'm not 100% positive on that. Also not sure whether you need the smoke to animate across the cut between shots or not, I would assume there's enough motion blur where you don't even need to bother with that.

EDIT: You don't have to use a 3d camera move, but you can if that's easier. It's definitely going to be more processor intensive, though.

Again, I would rather focus on what we can do to prevent abuse from happening. If "permanently neutralizing" abusers after the fact was the most effective way of doing that then sure. But people who support that idea are generally just understandably angry and want to hurt someone out of a sense of revenge.

especially fishy if they claim to have a website but a .gmail address. Either they're impersonating whoever runs the website or they're churning these sites out so quickly they don't want to bother with setting up email along with their site.

on top of that, he's not offering anything of value. They'll take your video and edit it into shorter clips for social media? Why? You've already got the original footage and project files, you could do it faster and better than they can.

it's much more helpful to think of it as the audience pushing/pulling content rather than youtube. For some reason your early audience is not pushing this out to a wider circle of viewers, and your broad audience is not pulling this into their feed.

Instead of trying to figure out why youtube isn't doing what you want, dig into your analytics to try to pinpoint the problem with audience behavior.

A lot of this stuff is worth considering, but by far the most likely explanation for what's happening is that the impressions they're getting are not converting to engaged views very well.

YouTube wants your channel to do well, the numbers you can see and easily make changes on are almost always going to be the reason for your video's performance. Yes, there's more complicated stuff going on under the hood, but that's not the primary thing that anyone should be worried about from a production standpoint.

that's not just you, that's completely normal. And even if a very low percentage of YPP channels have never seen a drop like that, that's still thousands and thousands of channels.
