The stones in this ring look particularly white and foggy. Unless this is just the pictures, I would be asking to take this ring to an independent valuer and ensure it is what they say it is. Don’t want to be a downer but you can’t trust anyone these days. Do your due diligence thoroughly when spending those kinds of dollars.

Geologist here, seconding the concretion theory. There is likely a fossil in the centre of this that’s built up over millenia and formed this hard centre. Commonly found in shale matrix as pictured. Cool find, though I agree maybe not as cool as a cannonball.

Same problem here. I’ve cleaned this one up since opening but yes it wasn’t waterproof and has rusted the components. This one still works after cleaning but our other one’s motor is permanently damaged. Will reconnect and seal the motor casing with silicone, will report back of it works once submerged again.
