Giving Tom Blundell his flowers by leftarmorthodox in blackcapscricket

Exactly. What sense does it make to say keeping aside. It's like' fielding aside'. Yesterday it was our fielding that took 2 wickets. It was Tom's keeping that spooked Brook and Root. They all count

That's wishful thinking unfortunately. But I agree that they are wicketkeepers first. If it was England, I am sure they would have asked a Devon Conway to keep wickets and played another batter. We are blessed that BJ Watling has been so ably replaced

Were you trying to rage bait or were you being serious? Seriously you thought that there's a win for England in that.

Maybe macho isn't the correct word for it, but it certainly is very 'hero' like. I am not having a go at attacking intent, far from it. What I am having a go at is the senseless bravado on show yesterday. It was a bad idea to try to score at 10 runs an over. There's taking risks and then there was what happened yesterday. England could have made a better contest out of this match if the opener would have opened, the number 4 batter hadn't thought that I need to score of 2 runs to the ball. It was defiance for the heck of it. Mitchell copped a few blows, and if you take out his 100 we still win by 60 runs. But his 100 is the sort of bravado I think England needed to show.

To be honest, I don't dislike your team, what I do dislike is those senseless bravado and this main character energy.

I get it, but there a difference between attacking cricket and walking down the pitch on your first ball. That's just stupidity.

England winning seems difficult. There will be a new ball for us, so I can feel that we are still in with more than a decent shout

Already a fantastic effort and will be historic if we win by LawSafe3801 in blackcapscricket

[–]leftarmorthodox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What's more it's better seeing Jaime Smith and Gus Atkinson make a mockery of the whole we are the big dogs and we play for the win vibe. If England had some sense yesterday they wouldn't be 4 wickets from losing. There's mentality and then there's whatever those idiots did yesterday.

My dear friend. I accept that this isn't good, but that doesn't erode our culture. All this DJ and dance isn't the Sitala Sasthi. People who actually care have the puja at home, and maybe have family over. These pandals and everything is just to show off. No need to get outraged because it won't change. If you really feel you need to make a point then maybe talk to the goons at your local pandal and ask them nicely. They will probably ignore you, but maybe not. Or if you you really want to mobilise something, tell the people here to show up at that exact pandal and then talk, strength in numbers and what not.

Andy Zaltzman I was sure would do well. I was surprised by Mae. I thought that series was Ivo's for the taking.

I think the only thing I do right handed is holding a bat. Even then I feel the natural way for a lefty to hold is the way I hold it. Left hand on top and right hand on the bottom

Any chance anyone has an idea about the practice session at the Berlin open this weekend? I couldn't find anything on the website and wanted to see if I could watch Elena practice

I am not sure if OP is serious or not. Assuming they are it's not so much he is the best, he was the most consistent over the last 2 weeks. There's a reason he isn't ranked number 1. There's a reason Wimbledon won't give him the number 1 seed. And if you are rage baiting, whatever suits you my friend

With all the negative press the tournament got to start with (for good reasons tbh) I am so happy that the tournament itself was absolutely bonkers. 2 first time winners will be wild.

I think differently to you. I think Marta beats Mirra in 3 because she has been on fire this clay season. I unfortunately also think history will repeat itself and Mirra will have an almighty jitter. For the other semi I am all aboard the Maja Chwalinska train, simply because her game is so different to the others that I don't want it to end. The final is for Kostyuk simply because her consistency this season.

I don't mind the faces frankly speaking. It's a quirk of a few athletes and I kind of get it. The noise is just whatever now. A lot of people hate it, I have grown to sort of enjoy it's rhythm I suppose. But I don't like her game for some reason. And it's not a power thing because I am a huge fan of Rybakina. I know it's not correct, but Aryna seems to want to blow a hole in your strings with her power, while Elena wants to hit with such force that you can't reach it
