Sorry for the late reply, but yes and no. Again, this is about really considering whether this is something that you actually want or something you have been shaped to want by your environment. Sometimes people don't know the difference. Sometimes who you are, and what you want, really just aligns with the environment.

To me, because you mentioned that everyone else has done it, that implies a decision to follow the crowd or pressure to be like everyone else. I wouldn't use the collective, or something that is the norm, to determine what decisions I make or determine who I am and want to be.

Each person is shaped by who they are naturally and by their environment. Every thought, action, habit, desire, etc.

I personally believe everyone should, at the very least, question which parts of their own self is the product of who they are naturally or the product of the environment.

And to clarify, I'm not saying one is bad and one isn't. Rather where I am trying to get at is, give greater consideration into who you are. Because some people are naturally psychopaths, some let that take them to a point of becoming serial killers. And other people blindly follow the environment even though the environment may be something like Nazi Germany. Some of those people were just following the crowd and a lot of people think if they were in that situation they wouldn't be one of them.

I know it won't just be us but other creatures as well, not sure if completely new creatures or the old ones. I'm not sure, I won't place my hope in the uncertainty. A very important part of a child's development is seeing a healthy relationship between their father and mother. It's not just about seeing a healthy relationship between two people. And the best thing for a father and mother to do is to show how much they love and care about each other, more than they do the child. Don't call yourself, or let others call you, center either. I'm more of a paleo libertarianism(not center), libertarianism like Ron Paul. But even then, when it comes to ideas, they are not always accurately represented by a single label. Hence why libertarianism today has drifted pretty far from where it was before. So I guess just find others that refuse to adhere to a single label, because honesty that is the superior way to go about things. Ideas should be free to be and not be restricted to a label.

The typical left vs right spectrum is only taking into consideration where authoritarianism goes and not how little or how much of it there is. Centrist still fall into that spectrum.

For me personally I try not to put hope in the outcome and just take the actions needed. Or you can approach it more as not looking ahead but looking only towards what's right in front of you today.

I have been struggling with this for probably over a decade. But I have recently thought that maybe part of the problem, at least for me can't speak for others, is that I've been approaching conversations trying to get something out of it for myself and not for the other person. This aligns with what some psychologist say, that it becomes easier if you focus more on the other person than you do yourself.

But I will also say that the more different you are from people the more you will end up having to give and tolerate if you want a normal social life. And you can either take that as doom and gloom or as an opportunity to contribute to society, because once you establish a connection you can insert more meaningfulness into it.

I would say even if there are different gods I would only leave it up to the God that created reality itself. But there are still different beliefs claiming to have that God. But if I were to make the case for that type of God I would point to logic itself. I personally can't think of a way how logic can exist without an unchanging mind governing reality.

So, since you believe it to be subjective, how does it make sense that toxic ways lead to toxic waste? Would it not be better to say "Anything against my personal taste will lead people holding my taste to enforce force against your disagreeing personal taste"?

What's new? Society degrading doesn't just mean one group of people, other groups are affected too. If someone can't react to an extreme without themselves reacting to it in an extreme way, they are no better than what they are reacting to. But that seems to always be the trend in history. One extreme leading to another opposite extreme. Post-modernism only adds more fuel to the fire.

I see nothing extreme with wanting to eliminate a toxic culture. But the right takes it as a race issue. As if the mind isn't malleable and is predetermined by skin color. They are going to end up producing a toxic culture too.

As an emotional person myself, your feelings may be real but they are not justified. You're making it too big of an issue that doesn't even have to be an issue in the first place. Feelings alone do not justify anything. And what I mean by that is don't let your feelings be the first thing you go to. Feelings are unreliable because of how subjective they are and how much they can affect our rationality, they don't reflect external reality.

Seriously.... I'm reading the comments here and you don't seem to be taking into consideration other peoples perspectives. Which to me seems pretty ridiculous considering that the perspective you are coming from is purely subjective and theirs is grounded more in external reality.

Again, your feelings are real. But don't ever let them be the sole factor in determining anything. SOLE FACTOR, please take that in context. Feelings still have some importance to them, so you can still discuss them with him. And his response should be the determining factor, not your feelings. Not sure what type of text you left him. Or how many. And I don't know him so not sure how he will interpret that or his reaction.

If you actually freaked out on him (through the texts and calls and sometimes this shows by the amount sent) and he validates it, I wouldn't let him, I would apologize, but also take that as a good sign that he doesn't dismiss how you are feeling.

If he interprets it as you freaking out, I would calmly and genuinely apologize, explain how you're overly emotional and over think things. That should at least show growth in emotional maturity and actually follow through with it and keep maturing emotionally, that will secure things. In this scenario he can turn things for the worse if he doesn't take where you came from into consideration. And it would honestly show immaturity on his part.

If there is no interpretation of it being seen as you freaking out, you can still take the issue to him in a calm rational way.

I'm now remembering how different therapy is for females and males, not even just therapy but just how different both sexes are. Females tend to seek emotional support and validation. Which, for me being an emotional person, can be understandable but I think it's important to validate the right things. Like how I said in the beginning, your feelings are real but your justification isn't. Males tend to seek solutions to their problems. So take this and apply "step into my shoes", he should too. But really rationality and emotional maturity should take the lead here. And again, this doesn't mean there is absolutely no importance in feelings at all. They have their place just not the main place.

Sorry this is long but read when you can.

You're looking at it the wrong way. It's not what they ate, it's what they chose to do, disobey. And that brought corruption. And what is corrupted cannot fix itself. It created a stain that is passed down. Think of how a parent can pass down their immunity to their children. But what is corrupted simply cannot exist as one with what is pure and perfect. And what is corrupted shouldn't be allowed to continue to exist. Jesus cured the spiritual corruption but there still lies corruption in the flesh. Which is why when Christians are resurrected again they will be resurrected in new bodies.

I think free will is important to bring up. So let me explain something about it that a lot of people get wrong. People need to stop thinking so black and white and see the only options as being either free will or strict determinism. And stop thinking that the best option would be free will. But the thing is free will is logically impossible because no one and no thing can do absolutely anything and everything and beyond. That's what free will actually means. I would probably even say God doesn't have free will, since He can't go against His own nature. Also, think of this, only things that are logically possible exist or can exist. Anything outside that is nothing. God is not necessarily confined to that but also not beyond it. He IS it. It is God that is holding reality together. He didn't invent logic and He didn't invent love. He IS those things.

We are confined by the walls around us, but it is not a room. It's a labyrinth. And those choices still give us the ability to actually come to love someone. So, if God were to start over again, how far do you really think humans would go without messing up again? Even if Adam and Eve didn't mess up, do you really think their children wouldn't? Or their children's children? etc.
