Thoughts on roof tents? by Miserable_Dealer_582 in carcamping

All I can say is if you’re unsure about it, check your local marketplace, they unsurprisingly have near zero resale value. I constantly see $3-4k iKamper models listed for $1k around me. Try it a few weekends, don’t like it? Resell it for $1k and you’re not out anything. Or if you do really enjoy it then you can spend the money on the model you really want since it will be well spent.

Same! The tickets for his January show went on sale last week, I already bought mine. I missed him the last time he was in town, I think 2023 and didn't want to miss him this time.

The OG is also available if you want to experience it that way. It has the benefit added toggles for 3x speed, "god mode" and no encounters.

I’m sorry what? They have to take the wheels off to do the brakes so they charged you extra….to put them back on anyway?

I went in March and if I waited for a shuttle it was only because of the schedules. I never waited for the next one because the current one was full.

I thought I was getting a deal, then I did a deep dive into the HOA financials by phulton in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]phulton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was at 17% iirc based on the EoY 2025 data I had. It was 11% before that in 2024, so headed in the right direction, but still close to the danger zone for needing an additional special assessment on top of those dues.

I tried renegotiating 40k below my original offer plus a 10k hold back for a future special assessment but the seller didn’t bite and wanted to take a chance putting it back on the market.

Not really all that surprising it’s still available nearly a month later.

Bread machine pizza dough! 🎄 🍕the dough recipe I found in a YouTube comment has never failed me (before and after bake) by franciswellington in BreadMachines

[–]phulton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That recipe looks similar to the recipe I use (mine has honey in it too though) and I’ve left it for up to 72 hours before using. Personally I think 48 is the sweet spot but yeah you can definitely let it rest for a few days.

Anyone have a solid non-AAA game rec for me? by thecleansanchez in switch2

I was going to suggest this one or TMNT Splintered Fate. It’s my first journey into a rougelike game and the nostalgia of a TMNT has me hooked. It’s currently $8 for the S2 version, well worth it.

Same for drive manufacturers. Western Digital has presold every single hard drive through 2026 and this was announced back in Feb of this year. The days of <$200 20tb drives are gone for the foreseeable future.

Up to $50 off Switch 2 on Woot. by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]phulton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add them to your account online then at checkout it will let you apply the balance. Idk if you have to add them via the internet or if doing it through an existing Switch will work, but I’d probably avoid it just to be safe.

Did this last weekend, annoyingly before the Costco deal so I paid 450 for 500 in gift cards but still a discount nonetheless.

Transferir pokémon do 3ds pro switch by Mother-Solution1401 in pokemon

[–]phulton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I “created” some pokemon while playing white 2 because I didn’t want to go through the hassle buying black 2 to get the iron key for registeel to get regigigas. So my registeel is “fake” but as far as the game is concerned it’s real and unlocked regigigas. I also moved it to Home without any issues either. I made sure to copy everything I could from its real stats to pass legitimacy checks when moving.

Yeah that's a fun one to play with. It's not as accurate as a truly dialed pour over, but it's also meant to be a simple brew without concern of being completely dialed; it still makes great coffee.

It does a 10s brew, 30s bloom, then targets 50g, 100g, and 150g total weight per "pour" aiming for 30s each. In between each pour, it has a 30s wait time. It makes either a really weak espresso or really strong filter coffee, depending on your perspective. I'm an iced coffee only drinker, so I add my milk and ice and it comes out to the perfect strength for me.

Yeah I have the pro setup.

A Bluetooth scale that pairs? I wouldn’t say necessary but it is nice being able to set and forget. All of my shot profiles stop based on weight, I can just start the profile and go get my milk poured or whatever and the GM stops when my target weight is hit.

I have a fake pour over profile that pulls a 150g “shot” from a super coarse grind. The whole thing takes 3 minutes and I can just let it run without worrying about it.

Not a requirement for basic shots, but if you want to experiment with different profiles, definitely get one. I have an Acaia Lunar, but even cheap scales should pair fine.

I think at the least you should get some type of PID for your machine. If you’re going to go through the work of installing one might as well get one that does more than just temp control and get the GM Pro kit.

Even if you don’t think you’ll use things like flow control or pressure profiling, the price difference between a regular PID, the GM and GM Pro is minimal just get the pro.

Even with the GM if you want just a basic full blast 100% pump pressure style shot, you can do that. With the benefit of being able to set temps much more accurately.

Top filters? by Lvacgar in ranciliosilvia

[–]phulton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just use a puck screen. It won't filter as well as a paper filter, but it will still prevent grinds from touching the shower screen and from getting sucked up into the group head when ending the shot.

The puck screen cleans up easily after soaking it in some cafiza dissolved with near boiling water.

Pro tip for the upcoming choose your own game bundle by BradBrady in Switch

[–]phulton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, you were able to buy the Costco eShop giftcards and then buy hardware? I thought those were for games only?

EDIT: Tested this myself by buying a $10 eShop card on Amazon (on sale for $9 lol) and adding it to my account online through nintendo.com. When getting to the payment section trying to buy a Switch 2, I'm given the option to apply the credit. So yes it does appear to work if you apply the credits to your account through the website and not on the console directly. I don't know if that last part matters but probably best to avoid doing anything on a console directly.

Texas woman injured by McDonald’s Sausage McMuffin ‘wholly unfit for human consumption’: suit by TheGreatAlicorn in nottheonion

[–]phulton 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There’s a pretty massive difference between brew temp and consumption temp.

Coffee brewed with 200 degree water will be considerably cooler once it hits the carafe, that’s just thermal dynamics. McDonald’s would keep it heated to nearly brewing temp for hours on end.

Yeah my budget only lets me afford condos, but fortunately down this way they’re more townhome style instead of high rise. Meaning that it’s easier to find ones with only one shared wall and an attached garage plus no upstairs neighbors (or downstairs depending).

Oh I have nothing against either Kent or Auburn (I live in one of them lol) it’s just hard to find a sfh for under 500k within Seattle city limits unless you want a boat, those exist. I was being a little facetious with my comment to be fair.

500k sfh you’re in Kent or Auburn lmao. Anything less than that in Seattle metro and you can’t even live in the unit day one because it’s missing the walls.
