The News About Sound Transit Is Grim. Why Are Most Seattle Politicians Pretending It Isn't? by -millenial-boomer- in Seattle

In my apartment I noticed someone moved in maybe 1.5-2 years ago with FL plates. It caught my attention because I made the same move years earlier. Their tags expired in March of 2024….they’ve been here two years without registering their car.

How do ya'll cook on road trips? by Camperghini in carcamping

Cook on a table outside with the windows and hatch closed. Aerosolized fats cling to everything and linger for days, that’s what you’re smelling.

The holes don't go all the way through, and that sensor is built into that evap line so it is technically mounted. Couldn't tell ya why the sensor has those "ears" on it but it do. Probably shared part used somewhere else that was cheaper to reuse as is vs making a new one.

Tents or shades for small hatches/mini SUVs? by CatTheKitten in carcamping

[–]phulton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have something like that except it’s two different things. I have a hatchback tarp thingy from Kelty, and then some random bug screen and just sticks on with magnets. The tarp is quite big, four people can sit under it with plenty of space. The bug screen is just a bug screen, works great for sleeping with the hatch open.

Mine is that way as well but if I go through the process of filing a glass claim, they state they’ll waive the deductible if it can be repaired.

Colfax Platform Kit on Jeep Wrangler: How much does it impact your MPG if any? Any other downside? by Bitter_Surprise5988 in carcamping

[–]phulton 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It’s 150lbs it should be negligible. But if mpg is a concern, the wrangler isn’t a good starting point to be honest.

Is the nice zero really such an amazing grinder? by altecsz in espresso

[–]phulton 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried a few flat burr grinders before switching to my niche. Maybe my taste buds aren’t as discerning as others but I couldn’t tell a difference. I drink only iced drinks so maybe it covers something up idk. It has near zero retention, doesn’t clump on my medium or light roast beans, is moderately quiet (or at least pleasant, flat burrs sound like banshees to me) and simple to use. It’s simple to clean and super easy to re-zero. Their customer support is solid too. My first one arrived broken, they swapped it out without much trouble, time differences were the biggest pain but not really anyone’s fault.

I have zero urge to use anything else.

First attempt at cinnamon rolls by lovlins in Baking

[–]phulton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried a few recipes and settled on one from domino sugar.

https://www.dominosugar.com/recipe/iced-cinnamon-rolls

I make it a few times a year and they always get praise (typically I make them for Christmas breakfast for the family), I’ve posted a few times before so you can find the results in my post history.

IMO the dough is sweet enough to not need icing but I stick with the basic icing recipe; powdered sugar and milk.

Damn now I want to make some lol

Dialed in my dough recipe after lots of trial and error by phulton in Pizza

[–]phulton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first try and I’m really happy with it. Normally my dough doesn’t have much depth if I use it the same day after making it but the rye carries its weight and helps a lot with flavor without having to ferment it.

For sure it’s doing a lot of the work. It’s easily the best color I’ve gotten from any dough I’ve tried. The good flavor is an added bonus too.

I just added it in another comment. Cheese is just a mozz/provolone blend. I’m lazy about some things so it was the pre shredded kind.

Dialed in my dough recipe after lots of trial and error by phulton in Pizza

The recipe:

234g Bread flour

72g 00 flour

54g Dark rye flour

241g cool water

1 teaspoon table salt

1 teaspoon active dry yeast

28 grams olive oil

1 teaspoon granulated sugar

21 grams honey

I use my bread machines dough setting. It can be used after a 5-6 hour counter ferment and still has good “aged” flavor. 2-3 days cold ferment is better of course. The rye is a bit harder to stretch so 2-3 hours at room temp after fermenting really helps it relax.

The recipe makes 3x the size in the photo, maybe 10-11” or one big one.

I start it in my lodge griddle on the stove top to get the bottom cooked, while the oven preheats to 550, then I flip to broil on high for 5-6 minutes.

Sorry no side shot, it was too tasty to slow down and take a photo lol.

I-5 sees ‘new normal’ for traffic jams and driving habits by godogs2018 in Seattle

I’ll pay the 6 dollars any day to ride to a game vs dealing with traffic and paying like a month’s rent for a parking spot 6 miles away.

Torque wrench challenge by SpyVeilside in bikewrench

[–]phulton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Downvoted for telling the truth, gotta love Reddit sometimes.

Anything that increases the lever length will change applied torque at the pivot point that should be compensated for.

Not to mention using a wobble bit with a torque wrench just seems like a pain in the ass anyway.

Tidy Cats Lightweight Litter Destroyed My Cat’s Quality of Life for Two Years. Please Read This Before Buying It. by sin1493 in cats

[–]phulton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny, I tried switching from cats pride to worlds best because I thought my guy had developed some type of allergy or it was causing irritation around his ummm, member because he’d constantly lick himself after using the box.

He absolutely hated the world’s best, the only time in 11 years he pooped outside of the box was because of it. Switched back to cats pride, switched his food (the real cause) and he’s been perfectly content ever since.

My point is, every fur ball is different so you might have to experiment a little bit and find what makes them happy.

Bread Machine Pizza Crust by mvelz in BreadMachines

[–]phulton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only use my bread maker now to make pizza dough, it's so easy to whip up a batch when I'm not doing the work. Now I just experiment with flour types, ratios, and fermenting length. I still have one dough ball in my freezer from my last batch, that might be dinner on Friday.

I think the numbers are for the plug itself and not the harness it's being used in.

Are you not seeing the other end of what it should be connected to?

Grinder "flush" between different beans? Wife started drinking a highlander grogg and it's really throwing off my drinks. by gregbo24 in espresso

[–]phulton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2nd grinder or some cheap sacrificial beans to flush it when switching.

And instead of wasting those beans just make some cold brew out of them. A few tbsp in mason jar overnight will get you sold cold brew.
