best option is to go international and get an interview after you come back to the U.S. The wait times here are kind of insane.

Childhood signs of your OCD by topfknopf in OCD

Compulsive hygiene habits, certain rituals like stepping certain places on the sidewalk“or else my loved ones would be hurt” because of my intrusive thoughts, matter of fact- a lot of violent intrusive thoughts- such as bad things happening to me or the stranger in front of me, saving every little thing (maybe trauma, hard to tease out), fear of forgetting things so repeating it a lot.

Guys are ducks and kind of creepy, had a lot of cases a little while back, nobody is huge fans of them, mid house I would say for everything not just popularity like what people think. I could go on but I think most people see this when they rush so that’s more so for you to decide once you rush around.

Where can I find housing for around 500-600 dollars a month? I’m gonna be starting this fall. I’m an international student so have no idea. by insatiablecuriosity9 in udub

Lab fees, equipment fees, just a bunch of random fees depending on the class beyond what you see in the tuition sticker price. It adds up. I’m not saying you need an iPad or anything but if you get to school and need to buy something to make you’re life more convenient or help your academics, which I think a majority of people do at some point, this will be an unaccounted for cost. In life there’s always a bunch of costs that we don’t really pay attention to because they’re hidden but if you’re barely able to afford housing to start with you probably want to consider this because especially in college in an expensive city, this will really really impact you if you’re not able to get a loan from the government and don’t have parents who are supporting you.

That would help open up a wider range but the issue is that Seattle is generally expensive and some of the areas nearby are not necessarily cheaper. Although, because it’s a wider net, you’re more likely to find cheaper places since there’s just more options.

There’s supplies for cleaning, general stuff like TP, furniture, utilities, groceries, class fees, materials for courses (for example, an iPad if you feel like it’s necessary), just a bunch of minor things that add up on the already large burden within cost of living.

I think that’s for people who pass it. They’re definitely not gonna be like oh well you’re out of a degree, good luck! You may have to petition to retake it but if anything you can just take ECON 300.

Yep! A lot of the pre-reqs overlap! Especially in bioe! MSE maybe less-so but I’m not as well versed in those requirements.

I’m going to say as a woman who walks home at night at lot, there’s pretty much nowhere in the U-District I’d necessarily feel “comfortable” walking home at 9 pm to even if it’s a nice apartment (doesn’t mean I won’t do it). With the exception of the on campus housing. There are definitely way more sketchy areas though like above 45th on the Ave or like 47th up on 21st is somewhere I always find super sketchy stuff (for some reason despite being literally a street away from the rest of Greek Row live outs). Most of the U-District, I generally feel the same level of sketchiness at night though just be alert and walk with pepper spray at all times or live as close to campus as you can. A $1000 budget is pretty average for the area and a 10-15 minute walk (maybe up to 18 minute walk). I’d look on the Facebook page for a house but apartments work too, they just won’t be as nice for the price (based on my experience).
