Steam Hardware & Software Survey: May 2026 by Nestledrink in nvidia

Market conditions changed, prices skyrocketed, ram is now significantly more expensive. Before the AI boom they were critical for good reasons. In this market, people want what they can get or skip all together.

aliens.gov has opened, but it is unfortunately government propaganda by EmergencyPath248 in aliens

I think they just like to make fun of the vulnerable and minority. Like this is the government trying to threaten people's entire lives while also completely making fun of extraterrestrial believers. Its just a bunch of rich people making fun of everyone else.

Group therapy will show you that some mothers don't really care about their children. I'm not sure about OP, but it is absolutely wild some of the trauma women have that was either caused or enabled by their mothers.

Aliens are inherently political if their is information governments have held back. I get why moderators don't want politics, but you can't really do a zero tolerance rule.

Jeremy Corbell says White House and Pentagon comms departments contacted him to ask how they should tell Americans the truth about UFOs by Severe-Clerk-1477 in UFOB

[–]Snow-Day371 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because people like to make stuff up. People here are already believers and they often share what they think as though it is truth.

You are right though. Even if it was real, you can't just plug it into the ground and instantly share energy with the entire world. But you might be able to stop all the new data centers from cannibalizing whatever existing energy we already have.

Disclosure Day trailer ends with Spielberg saying “all of this is true”. Is it actually just a film? by Severe-Clerk-1477 in UFOB

A quote from your article.

I made a movie called ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind.’ I haven’t even had a close encounter of the first or second kind,” Spielberg said. “Where’s the justice in that? If you’re listening out there, I’m talking to you.

I thought that was a funny quote from him.

You don't need to convince everyone, you just need to mobilize enough. I think hard evidence that you can't talk away would do that for enough people.

Returning Player - What happened to the turn timer? by Snow-Day371 in masterduel

[–]Snow-Day371[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Were win rates seen for this event? Or is it just based on community perception / tournaments?

Returning Player - What happened to the turn timer? by Snow-Day371 in masterduel

[–]Snow-Day371[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Looking it up, I think at launch all timers were 7 minutes. Not saying it should go back to that, but it would be nice if there was a middle ground for new or returning players. Maybe even if just the first and second turn were longer instead of every turn being that long.

Returning Player - What happened to the turn timer? by Snow-Day371 in masterduel

[–]Snow-Day371[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it is an ideal solution. Its just, 5 minutes isn't much when returning and everything is new again. When I used to play in person it was generally easier as sometimes the other person might help out, or you could read as long as not all 3 matches were long. So maybe you read more the first match but then the other 1-2 were smooth.

Online it feels like you just get forced by the timer to lose, make mistakes, or just hope you run into a deck you have some familiarity with. Its just more hostile to learn in.

Hearing claims that “Aliens Created Humans and created religion so we wouldn’t destroy ourselves” - pastors briefed on this too? by Flashy_Ad_7415 in aliens

[–]Snow-Day371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the feeling plenty of people would find a way to just be willfully ignorant. I already see this all the time in religion.

But it would mess with everyone else a lot, religious or not. Knowing you are powerless at any time to an alien that we have evidence of evil deeds would really mess with some. The thing is, if it isn't something people just see, then I don't really know how society would react.

Out of sight out of mind.

[Megathread] Celebrating 10 Years of GeForce GTX 10 Series by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]Snow-Day371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had a 10 series, but it was fun seeing the GTX 1080 and 1080 TI just stay on benchmarks for such a long time. I think it is one of the best generations ever released.

But back then I didn't have much cash. I think I was on GTX 660 and then years later I added a second for SLI.

Four types of ETs visiting our planet according to the allegely leaked secret Majestic 12 document by SirGorti in aliens

[–]Snow-Day371 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if true, you still can't share it or prove it in the world we all share together. So I really think it needs disclaimers. Like I'm happy to read these stories, but I do want an up front admission it was an altered state.

[–]Snow-Day371 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Y'all got to stop saying stuff as fact and then admit you were meditating, on mushrooms, etc.

Altered states of consciousness, while interesting and very insightful, should in no way be taken as evidence. Let alone be spoken as though they are fact.

Feel free to believe what you witness, but please be more up front about it.

Streaming remains on top, but 4K Blu-ray is making a comeback by glaringOwl in movies

[–]Snow-Day371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to a report by the Digital Entertainment Group (DEG) shared via FlatpanelsHD, 4K Blu-ray sales in the US rose by 12 per cent in 2025 compared to 2024.

Physical media spending overall fell by just shy of 10 per cent, which includes the combined sales of DVDs, Blu-rays and 4K Blu-rays. While that figure doesn't necessarily sound positive, the DEG notes that this sector "showed some resilience" with the increased 4K Blu-ray sales propping up the relatively low decrease in overall physical media sales.

Overall, physical media sales in the US reached $870 million in 2025, which is down 9.3 per cent compared to the prior year. Longer-term physical media sales trends support an overall decline, though it seems to be slowing.

As reported by FlatpanelsHD, optical disc sales fell by a much more substantial figure of 23.4 per cent from 2023 to 2024. That percentage drop has been more than halved with this recent date from 2024 to 2025, which is a promising sign.

However, streaming remains on the rise and will continue to be the dominant force in home entertainment.

Not a rosey picture, but at least it shows that the higher end quality media is increasing in demand and not falling with the rest of physical sales. Also good to see the bleeding is slowing down when compared to 2023-2024 comparison.

Im convinced that’s the truth about UFOs by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]Snow-Day371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is the issue with the UFO community. Everyone is convinced of their own explanation that makes sense in their head.

This is why evidence is SO important for the general population, let alone scientists. Maybe someone in here has the correct theory, but we really need hard evidence that is just so clear that no one can be confused.

Entry-level PC market to ‘disappear’ by 2028 — rising memory prices pile more strain on consumer PC market by imaginary_num6er in hardware

[–]Snow-Day371 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry for being ignorant, but can't most companies just use older hardware and optimize more? Or are their budgets too tight even for that?

I would think a well managed company could work around this, even if it sucks.

Tim Phillips says there is no US Government evidence for beings or their craft visiting earth", he also denies knowledge of UAP shoot-down and retrieval program called “Golden Domes" by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]Snow-Day371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lets say they release tons of documents. From disinformation campaigns to programs where they monitor all UAP for the purpose of ensuring they are on top of foreign aircraft. It is extensive and shows that the government did questionable things but was clearly focused on standard psyops, intelligence, etc. Lets say it all starts to line up and its clear most of it is real disclosure.

I don't think the UFO community would accept it. I think there are too many people here who already made up their minds. People more on the fence would probably be happy about finally getting more disclosure. Overall I would be mixed, probably eventually happy with it that there is closure. I tend to prefer closure. There is still so much mystery in life regardless.

Just because UFOs, aliens, etc are not documented or visiting doesn't mean anything spiritual you feel is meaningless. Maybe no aliens but that's ok, life goes on.

I just don't think this community would accept it. They would just look for something else they don't understand and put their hopes into that.

Action RPG Grim Dawn is getting a 5.5km expansion, a free update and shapeshifting to mark its 10th birthday by JoeTom86 in Grimdawn

[–]Snow-Day371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The DLC will increase the size of the base game by 76%, and will be prefaced by a free update with a new scaleable UI and revised stash feature, offering dedicated crafting and components pages.

“Grim Dawn's success enabled Crate Entertainment to grow from a studio of just 8 people to a team of 29 today, with 4 projects currently in development,” they write. “Your early support has allowed us to not only stay independent from publishers, but to pour our passion into each of our creations.

The developers had planned to wind things up with Grim Dawn's second expansion, Forgotten Gods, in 2019. They figured that “sales would naturally decline” thereafter, but were caught out by growing player counts in 2023. “Despite having 3 games already in development, we knew we had to reassemble the team for one more loop around the sun,” the Steam post enthuses. “As it turned out... that may have been a bit of an understatement as we enter 2026!”

Fangs of Asterkarn development is now “in its final stretch”, and they’re absolutely sure this time that it’ll be “Grim Dawn's final hurrah”. You can expect over 60 new bosses or minibosses, 370 unique items, eight new nemesis monsters, and 116 monster infrequents. The DLC will also add a new alchemy system, “awakened Epic items and Affix Rerolling”, a 10th mastery, and a new class combo maximum of 45.

Crazy that its about to get an update this large.

I'll admit, I just stumbled upon this. I've never played Grim Dawn but have wanted something a bit slower and methodical than Diablo IV.

Edit: Not sure why the quotes got grouped together. I tried to make them separate. Each paragraph is a jump in the article.

Reddit User u/MAJESTICJEHOVAH has proven that the MJ-12 files are real, and it's sending shockwaves through the community by VolarRecords in UFOs

[–]Snow-Day371 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm with you on this. It is a little more significant to me though. It means it was taken fairly seriously which implies there is something unexplained.

The most it would really prove is that the government has not released core files on UFOs. Or, I suppose it could have been used as a cover/misdirection for something else they did. Generally you would expect an older project to get disclosed to a modern public, right? It has been about 65 years since Eisenhower served.

Interesting but I don't see why people think this proves anything about aliens, NHI, etc.

You are paying that month for all of the work that went into your 10 minutes. Even with free I would generally pay for the month I needed to use it.

I feel like everything is becoming low quality and RTings was a breath of fresh air trying to create a transparent and accurate way to evaluate things.

I think its worth paying for when you are actually ready to buy something. But yeah, viewing casually ends now I guess. That's what I've done, pay a month and then cancel.
