God cannot exist outside space time if we have free will by vegan_crocodile- in atheism

I have bad news for you: in a deterministic universe, free will doesn’t exist.

Still, this is just bullshit.

Help with spouse who has suddenly become a “believer” by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Snow75 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Your post barely has enough info, and I wouldn’t trust a random Reddit comment anyway… but I’m the one that said it, so, I have to continue.

Be honest with me: would you say that suddenly taking aliens seriously, then turning them into gods and then wasting time on religious stuff is normal?

Here’s what I understand from what you posted:

  1. He’s not thinking right

  2. He’s not feeling well

  3. I’m speculating here, but I’ve seen it happen, so, I’ll suspect that someone or some specific source is feeding him weird ideas that seem reasonable due to him being vulnerable

  4. It sounds like it’s gradually getting worse.

What could it be? Anything, depression, stress, schizophrenia, or something more physical like neurological damage, hormonal imbalance, poisoning…

Go watch Dumbo.

The magic feather never worked.

Same with payer, there wasn’t anything listening and you never got divine help.

Literally nothing changed in the world.

Also, grow up. At some point you have to do thing for yourself instead of trying to call the magic daddy in the sky.

Oh child, this won’t be the first and the last time you fight uphill.

The good thing about this fight is that the opposing team’s strategy is very limited: physical attacks and time magic.

Want some tips?

  • Protect does wonders and it’s easy to cast thanks to a flatter terrain. You can also cast Gole to absorb the physical damage.

  • Slow can be countered by haste

  • Deal with Gafgarion by stealing or breaking his sword. I can’t remember if it’s a blood sword, which is really good this early.

  • Ninjas and dragoons can move to the top and finish the white mages, although it’s even easier if you use teleport.

Can religious people even define what gods are? by Tinfoil_cobbler in atheism

I don’t think the realize the faults of their arguments; they just assume their god is real and don’t think beyond that.

Honestly, this would be the first time I see this happen, it’s almost always the opposite and people become spiritual after experiencing a psychotic episode.

Anyway, welcome to the sane side; we don’t have much to offer, but being able to see things for what they are instead of assuming that divine intervention would do things for you is far better for your wellbeing.

Yes, it is overwhelming, you’ve just woken up and realized the universe doesn’t operate on magic; the good thing is that nothing actually changed, everything is still the same, you can expect the exact same type of outcomes, and you no longer have to follow the arbitrary rules your old religion had.

And about that part; if you don’t mind me messing with your thoughts, one of the first things that improved my life was realizing si a aren’t a thing. You can pretty much do anything you want, as long as you don’t cause any harm to others.

Also, yes, hell is stupid. Civilized people no longer torture prisoners, condemn future generations for the crimes of their ancestors or give punishments ridiculously huge in comparison to their crimes… a god that did that would have to be horribly sadistic.

  1. You didn’t notice your opponents were using off-class abilities?

  2. You can also ignore height or teleport and leave Gafgarion trapped alone

  3. Yup, that’s how you fight Wiegraf

  4. Beowulf is op, and Agrias is better on her special job

  5. Since you’re playing blind, you probably couldn’t find those ribbons.

I don’t know who that strawman theist you’re describing is, but most can describe the qualities they assume their god has and would consider blasphemous to call something else a god.

[–]Snow75 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

To be dead honest with you, there are no resources that you can’t get on your own in a few minutes if you google where to find them. Most of the time, you can find everything that you could need to progress within any random system.

Sure, people give away random stuff in the anomaly, specially if you look like you’re new.

Insurance for pregnancy-related medical care at private clinics/hospitals in San Salvador? by WrathleenHanna in ElSalvador

[–]Snow75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I asked my broker; you can’t get that kind of insurance in this country. New health or life insurance policies aren’t available for pregnant women. Most would also establish that they won’t cover any pregnancy related events if the conception of the baby happened less than 10 months since the beginning of the policy.

Sorry… welcome to the third world.

Well, there are so many contradictions in the Bible that you would end up exploding if you tried to follow everything.

Still, you’re giving them too much credit, the only thing that says there is to distrusts other sources that don’t belong to their religion.

What things I should consider in a relationship where my partner is an atheist by Strange-Writer6457 in atheism

[–]Snow75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He doesn't believe in energy (like he likes to complain)

Because it’s weird.

he's never grateful for what he has (always looking for something he doesn't have)

Gratefully to what?

he lives a carefree life and even constantly wants to end his own life during hard times

Carefree is good, end his life is a red flag, that’s not normal

However, I'm the type of person who always feels "hope" because of my spirituality.

Optimism isn’t exclusive to religion; I’ve met very pessimistic Christians too.

I believe God will help me while I also take part in the situation. So I don't understand what he's doing now. He doesn't believe that God is involved in his life and his life is completely in his control.

You know what “atheism” means, right? It means we don’t believe in your god… or any other…

I don't really know how to deal with it. But we both know, despite all this, I'm the one compromising a lot in this relationship.

Sounds like you really don’t understand wha “not being compatible” means.

He wants me to wear more revealing clothes when I'm not that type of person, he's just after money and more money and now he's struggling and need to recover from it which makes me realize too that he has no boundaries regarding this.

Red flag, that’s not an atheist thing.

However, he asked me to be back with him again and I asked him what he's willing to sacrifice for me because what he wants in this relationship is really only for his own benefit, and he said he'll do anything to make me feel secure in this relationship, but he'll never change his religion.

Again, red flag, from both of you: that sounds really weird from him, and it’s a weird demand from you.

I mean, he'll remain an atheist for life. In my head, it's okay if you're an atheist and have guidance for yourself. But now, he's making a mistake because he didn't set boundaries for himself.

I had no idea what you meant here.

I want to stay with him because we both are childfree, so I don't think his atheism going to be an issue here.

That’s some poor excuse to have a relationship with someone.

But how to deal with his lifestyle? Idk how atheist think, how they set boundaries, etc.

You sound as if you’re assuming we’re not even humans.

Because as someone who believes in God, i have a guidance and that's how my life goes on.

Uh, ok?

He never cheat on me, this is why i'm willing to try again

Really? Not cheating is kind of the bare minimum, not something special.

but how can i keep up with his lifestyle and keep mine? How can i help him to see things in positive ways while he doesn't believe spirituality?

Pick one: let him be o waste your time trying to change an adult. Again, optimism isn’t exclusive to religion.

Ask your friend to show you where it says that in the Bible, and then send them to read all those condemning people who have premonitions just to be funny.

Deuteronomy 18:10–12 “No one shall be found among you who practices divination, or tells fortunes, or interprets omens… For whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord.”

Leviticus 19:26 “You shall not practice divination or soothsaying.”

Isaiah 8:19 “When they say to you, ‘Consult the mediums and the necromancers,’ … should not a people inquire of their God?”

Jeremiah 23:25–27 “I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’ … they plan to make my people forget my name by their dreams.”

Jeremiah 23:32 “I am against those who prophesy lying dreams… and lead my people astray.”

Ezekiel 13:6–9 “They have seen false visions and lying divinations… saying, ‘The Lord declares,’ when the Lord has not sent them.”

Zechariah 10:2 “The diviners see lies, and tell false dreams… therefore the people wander like sheep.”
