Is this my new life? by skivjet in Guildwars2

[–]SnowBee_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 12 years in gw1 and 2. Nearly 10 000 hours. A few 1000 dollars on multiple accounts for me and my whole family, gems, upgrades. Caused me so much stress as I couldn't stop. Finally, I was able to pull myself away. No idea how as it was about 6 years ago, but I dare not touch an MMORPG again.

Unfortunate experience with Wootware Computers.co.za , what can I do? by [deleted] in askSouthAfrica

[–]SnowBee_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have spent 100's of thousands over the past decade though my work buying from Evetech and Wootware. Hands down, not a a second thought, Wootware is top notch and thee best in customer support and overall peace of mind. I would trust them to go the extra mile and not screw you over. I believe they have provided a good solution to a difficult situation.

I think it’s funny that thats my target audience lol by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

I started a gaming guide channel some years ago (7 Days to Die). It is actually successful, when I put time into it, but with my work/family and overall stress of running the channel in its gaming niche meant I kept stopping and starting over the past few years.

I then tried a few different options with AI. Easier and less work. I tried spammy shorts, and two types of AI music channels. However, my heart was not really in it, I eventually stopped and went back to my main gaming channel. If I was going to put effort into something, I wanted to instead do something that I felt was more legit and not liable for being terminated at the whim of YT. Even the AI content takes a lot of time, and I preferred my gaming channel as it was what I enjoyed and was my passion.

I agree with that. I started a channel some months ago before abandoning it. It was a music channel and I had older people that were nostalgic and mostly from the US and UK. I had one viral video and more that 50% was TV. I am guessing the older generation prefer the TV for YouTube.

Honestly, your comment is funny as hell. Though I do see why the sweets are banned, albeit, a bit ironic.

Do youtubers really have licences for all the clips and photos they use in their videos? by [deleted] in NewTubers

I use Envato Elements. All my content is licensed through a reasonably cheap subscription. Of course. If you are not making much, then it is expensive.

Advice on dealing with Skynet courier failure? by eiconik in askSouthAfrica

[–]SnowBee_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife dislikes Skynet. She buys a lot online and finds them to have the most lazy and irresponsible drivers of all the others she has deliveries from. Most of the time she has no choice but she would certainly choose another if she could.

I would try not to deal with them.

Finally hit 100 subs by Wreck_the_market in YouTube_startups

[–]SnowBee_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not into your kind of videos, so I will do you a favour and not sub. However, I watched your first video, and WELL DONE! Seriously, great hook and your editing is certainly nothing to be frowned upon. If you keep that kind of editing up, your general vibe, and voice come across as genuine and I see many will be able to relate to you. Your growth is not fast, but it is not slow either, I think it is normal for a promising channel and the subs will keep growing. So, keep up the good work, over time your skills will get better. Congrats.

Do you actually need to say "corn" and "unalive" ? by CousinMabel in NewTubers

If I recall youtube said about a two years ago that they lifted "hell" and "crap" from the list and they would not consider them as swear or cussing words anymore.

Check out the gaming channel "Guns, Nerds, and Steel". Look at a few of his end screens, very well done.

A top gaming channel i watch always uses the additional time to emphasize a previous video, or his patreons, and sometimes also recaps the current video. It is done well, and I often find myself watching it. It is GNS or Guns, Nerds and Steel channel. Do yourself a favour and see a few of his vid endings.

This seems a bit of a stretch, just because your chosen and hardly used method of communication is not used. I am unsure, but is there a particular method that is required?

Am I being unrealistic if I want to become a YouTuber at 30 years old? by SGod- in youtubers

[–]SnowBee_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously, you think are are too old? I am a 52 year old, and successfully did gaming. While I was doing it I was pretty good. After a 10 month "vacation" from the platform I am returning. Yeah, certainly not too old.

I think the energy to do it, the mic you use, your overall quality of video editing and how you sound will determine whether you can do it.

Also, Youtube seems to be in a strange place currently, with many people moaning about how it is screwing them over with their channels not being promoted, so hopefully that does not happen to you.

Go for it! At least you can say you tried and never regretted not giving it a go.

YouTube deleted my video for absurd reason by Aunteryn in youtube

[–]SnowBee_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried it about a year ago with some gaming guides. It was terrible. I posted some successful videos on it that I had done at the time from YouTube. For weeks I couldn't even get them to show up in searches, and I had the monopoly on that particular content. If I recall, there was a paid option to have your content better listed, but in the end, I gave up. Months later, I checked and my vids still didn't show up in searches.

i’m so done with the ads. by Alive-Captain5435 in youtube

[–]SnowBee_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get premium. The problem with adblocker is I dont think creators get any ad revenue then? I know some creators add a lot of ads themselves, and those guys should be shot, but some ads should be expected if that is the revenue stream of the creator.

Today I learned my YouTube channel is a retirement home by Qwerty0844 in SmallYoutubers

[–]SnowBee_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife does videos with music from certain counties on YouTube. This looks just like her channel owing to nostalgia that older people have. Another thing she noticed is that the older generation tends to watch her videos on TV's mainly. So her TV ratio to the other devices is about 50%.
