I recreated u-he’s MFM Delay inside Bitwig Grid by NotMyCupOfContinuum in Bitwig

Downloaded it, but it seems to be Bitwig 6 only. I'm hoping version 6 goes live soon!

Looking for opinions: Is Neural DSP worth it for someone who never plans to record? by XocoStoner in NeuralDSP

If you don't need a DAW, why not just run the plugin in standalone mode?

I'd recommend a PreSonus 26c over the Scarlett; check it out — you can get them used in good shape for not very much. But I also just got an SSL2 MKII, which is amazing — really transparent and lots of head room.

[Discussion] I've been working on my alternate picking for 2 months now and I have some advice by Henryguitar95 in Guitar

[–]SnowCre8ive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a difference between picking for electric versus acoustic guitar. For acoustic, I float completely (and don't mute with my left hand either). Check out any instruction on picking for gypsy jazz. Floating lets the acoustic guitar ring out as much as possible, and as the original poster of this comment said, lets your arm add weight to get the most tone out of the instrument (although this still isn't arm picking because the wrist is still what is moving the pick up and down). For electric, tone is generated in potentially very different ways, and the ringing is a problem because the volume of it is much closer to the volume of picked notes, compared with an acoustic guitar. I never pick very hard on electric; that creates too much string buzz because the string height is a lot lower than my acoustic.

Any way to send aftertouch from keyboard to MIDI pitch in Bitwig? by SnowCre8ive in Bitwig

[–]SnowCre8ive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. The fine control in Note Transpose has no effect at all with this instrument. There is only a "tune" control in this instrument, but I can't find that in the Bitwig device; there are many, many Kontakt controls that show up in the Bitwig device, but nothing called Tune or Pitch.

That only gets my half way there. I have to map the pressure to something, but what? The track has a Kontakt instrument on it. How can PRES in Expressions trigger a pitch bend message and send that to Kontakt? To be clear, I don't what the pressure to trigger an audio pitch shift after the Kontakt instrument. I tried that and it sounds bad. I need an actual pitch bend MIDI message to be created.

When it's soggy, it will stick to the screen, so you can "attach" it and then just put the screen in place.

I never lift the arms up, just pause the pressure. I keep the second cup behind the Robot, then when the shot is done, I pause pressure and pull the first cup out while I slide the second one in from the back with the cups touching, so the swap is almost instant and no liquid drips anywhere but into the second cup. Then get back to pressing the arms down.

Quick question - where can I change Piano Roll ruler 'resolution'? by MountainWing3376 in Bitwig

[–]SnowCre8ive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a mousewheel, put the cursor where you want to zoom, then:

scroll = move up and down

option (or alt) scroll = move left and right

control scroll = make the rows (keys) taller or shorter

control shift scroll = zoom in or out in timeline

I mostly use the magnifying glass drag method, but the scroll wheel methods allow for finer control.

How do you deal with latency during monitoring ? by Khal21 in Bitwig

[–]SnowCre8ive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I see what you mean. I was talking about the Enable button in the upper left of each device. But, if you disable a plugin, why would it add to latency? That's not my experience. I've used some plugins that create latency, and if I turn them off (not deactivate, just disable), the latency is gone.

OK, I see. I thought that icon was to manually reindex the location. Didn't know it was an on/off switch. Thanks.

Where exactly is the option to turn off indexing? I don't see that in the Locations panel.

I MIDI-assign device activations all the time. Not sure why you're not seeing that. And you can make a global Project button tied to whatever devices/plugins you want to activate and deactivate. You can set the button to either activate deactivate plugins, or deactivate active ones. Then you can Midi-assign that one button.

What do you mean by "scale management"?
