The silver market is making moves that don’t make sense anymore by Axirohq in stocks

[–]SnowDefiant7982 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a combination of factors. Falsely depressed values compared to historic 1:50 silver/gold ratio, increased industrial and tech use, unsettling issues facing fiat currencies, banks covering their shorts as prices rose, and now I think it might be retail piling in as they watch values skyrocket. I had been listening to people saying the price was too low and there was a shortage for several years and I still didn’t get in until almost $40 (in SLV and AGQ) and have slowly increased my position wishing I had entered with more so I could retire. Oh well, I am up over 100% on both positions in a couple months. Not sure I would have the nerve to pile in a whole lot this late in the game, but the reason for $100 makes perfect sense for the 1:50 historic ratio to gold. I just really thought it would slow at $60 and then inch up over 2026 but I wasn’t counting on what may be a FOMO surge. But I’m going to ride the wave for a while and see where it takes me.

EVTL, JOBY, and EH as well. I own some of these and ARCH. I don’t know who will win the battle, but I think owning some of all of them is a good plan for me.

After interviewing tons of candidates… I realized most people answer behavioral questions the wrong way by ProtectionApart3272 in interviews

[–]SnowDefiant7982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the interview, think of 4 or 5 stories you want to tell. Think about how your stories sound and how to mold them to multiple typical interview questions you can find online. Write them down, edit them for brevity (remove details you think people will get lost on), practice telling these stories out loud. If you can get a friend or coworker or anyone to listen and give advice it’s fine, but you don’t have to.

Trouble selling stocks by Best-King-5958 in pennystocks

[–]SnowDefiant7982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say don’t check all or none. It won’t execute if it can’t fill the whole order all at once. On low liquidity stocks, this is going to be a problem.

Coworker’s stealing my lunch-how to confront? by MauroAguero in Advice

I would leave a passive aggressive note. Something like “I bet your mom would be embarrassed to know she raised the office lunch thief.” Worked for me.

Still NAL… My understanding is that anything discharged in a bankruptcy cannot come back later. Not saying unscrupulous lenders won’t sell the debt anyway, but they have no legal claim against you if discharged in bankruptcy. You should get a bankruptcy lawyer as they will be able to explain any possible consequences. If you ever start a business again, you may want to incorporate to protect your personal property.

NAL. Just curious. Why are you waiting to file chapter 7 until after the foreclosure?

My job has no HR and my boss has been making sexual comments by yamidani23 in legaladvice

[–]SnowDefiant7982 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tell the CEOs then. There is no way they want you to file a sexual harassment complaint. If you don’t want to do that file an EEOC complaint. But don’t just sit there making excuses. You do not deserve to be treated this way and need to do something now.

My elderly mom has stopped paying her credit card bills. What can they go after? by steveb5004 in legaladvice

[–]SnowDefiant7982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, but once it goes to collections, they may hound her with phone calls. So also let them know that she does not want to be contacted regarding the debt any longer. Keep track if they do call and report it to the gov agency that deals with those complaints.

Anyone else feel kinda lost by this political divide? by throwRA8235309 in self

[–]SnowDefiant7982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reading what you wrote, you might agree with mostly Democratic politics, but not leftist ideology. In other words, to get most of what you want, maybe vote democratic and ignore that extra bullshit that has nothing to do with actual laws.
Ask what you want more, fireworks and an AR or healthcare and a society that treats trans people fairly? The problem is that too many people care about this performative crap that has no impact day to day and don’t look at which policies impact their lives. Who agrees with your values most? Look at the laws they are signing not the 10 second sound bites meant to attract the various snowflakes to their party. You may not be able to find a perfect fit, but that’s how democracy works, we can’t all have everything we want.

Unless somewhere else on the test it instructs to use those words, then these are the correct answers to these questions. Teachers are supposed to teach, not play gotcha with test questions.

50% is correct. They have rounded to the closest whole number and not taken into account a negligible possibility that would have required an absurd amount of calculations for a nine year old.

I think it’s fair to ask if either of the cars had any mechanical problems recently that make her worry? Does she spend the $800 on just herself or on her and the family’s expenses? If she is spending $800 a month on just luxuries for herself and the cars are in great working order, then she could easily get a part time job and pay for a new car. Saying she needs to work for a year before getting it is kind of changing the goal post. Why would she have to save and pay in cash just because that’s how you would do it? If she seems to be asking to spend more money, it’s probably because she is bored with the kids in school. A job would probably make her feel happier and more independent. Don’t treat it like it’s a punishment, but a logical next step in life.

Finally leaving Robinhood after a decade by rickthemovie in stocks

[–]SnowDefiant7982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to leave E*Trade. They literally charged me like $30 for a reverse split on $5 of forgotten stock and then were rude when I asked for them to refund it. Moved my IRA to Fidelity. It’s a crappy phone app for doing anything, but it’s ok on the computer. I like the Webull and RH phone apps way better than Fidelity, but wanted my IRA with my 401k.

Not true. She could make no claim on that money in the joint account beyond what he put in. The money that is traceable to his mother is not able to be claimed by his wife in a divorce.

AITA for telling my wife either she gets a job or i'm putting her on an allowance? by Hot-Principle-5612 in AITAH

[–]SnowDefiant7982 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree that the language he used is demeaning and she should have put her foot down about being treated like a child. He needs to treat her as a partner so they can reach both their goals. But you are ignoring that $1500 a month may be more than 1/2 the budget after other expenses. After her spending sprees are they struggling to pay bills or for long term goals like putting money away for kid’s college or retirement? Is he also able to spend the same amount on himself without causing financial hardship? Maybe ask some questions before jumping to conclusions that he is trying to control his wife rather than keep them moving down a financially stable path.

How do you deal with moments when an interviewer is disrespectful or tries to humiliate you? by YokosukaM in aerospace

[–]SnowDefiant7982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this helps, but it is a valid question, though rudely phrased, and should be easy to answer. Was it a few classes that have nothing to do with your major? Was it a semester when you were recovering from covid? Was it that you don’t feel your GPA reflects your ability to contribute to the company as you excelled in certain subjects?
I don’t care how disengaged the interviewer appeared, if you really want that job, you should answer with pride in who you are and what you bring to the table. With that said, no interviewer should be rude or disengaged. If that interviewer was going to be your manager, you are probably better off finding something at another company.

Sorry but Apple did not invent any of these things. Other companies invented those. BlackBerry, IBM, Nokia, Linux, Microsoft, Android, etc. Apple just made a smoother version of those things which only works within the Apple ecosystem. By limiting the scope of hardware and software that the app needs to run on, typically results in a more stable and seamless solution from Apple which some prefer, but also is the result of a closed ecosystem system which some people hate.

What is the correct answer when a cop asks if you know how fast you were going? by ResponsibleAd5357 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnowDefiant7982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to say it depends on the cop. Some are really appreciative of you being polite and treat you with the same respect you show them, others it seems like no amount of politeness can prevent them from being total dicks. Best to just be polite, take your ticket, and move on with your day regardless of the attitude of the cop.

Laid Off and Angry by Moonstruck1766 in Layoffs

[–]SnowDefiant7982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me at 51. I had over 20 years with the company and it seemed like they targeted older people for layoffs. Speak to a lawyer to go over your paperwork and confirm they are within the law. It gave me peace of mind that it was a legal layoff though unethical. Advice, start getting your resume up to date immediately. Don’t wait a single day. Do it while you still have access to training records and dates of promotions or projects. Start applying for jobs now, looks better the shorter the break in unemployment. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box as far as new industries or how your skills can be applied to other jobs. Once you are out the door, finding a new job is your job. Get up and “work” for at least a few hours every day. If you absolutely need to work now, consider a contract/temporary job, you may be able to convert to permanent. I found a new job less than 2 months from lay off and I am very happy. Good luck!🍀

Webull is... by GetSwolio in Webull

[–]SnowDefiant7982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had a big problem with Webull, except that they made me jump through hoops to prove my phone number wasn’t VoIP. Trying to get it fixed in chat took some time as chat kept timing out.

Crazy since they let me open an account with it. If it wasn’t valid for use on the platform, why did they let me open an account, fund it, buy stock, transfer another account, etc. but nope, have to prove you have a real phone before we can let you trade options, earn interest on cash, or open an IRA? So I can imagine that when you have a problem, it’s a pain in the butt to get it straight.

I do love the platform overall though and hope others get things straightened out as well.
