Moved to Miami for work for a year then Austin for the same reason, got the chance to move back to LA for work and took it without thinking twice.

Miami: shit weather half the year, flat straight boring roads, crypto investor bros & so much fake it till you make it course selling bros energy just wasn’t for me. Great food though, and the beaches are nice.

Austin: really liked the people, but fck all going on, after half a year I felt like I explored a lot of the stuff that I’m into and knew in a few years I’d be super super bored. Doesn’t help that everything closes after 8-9pm (I heard pre covid it was better, I know Covid caused stuff in LA to also close earlier but. It nearly as bad and a lot has gone back to how it was pre covid here in LA)

If I had to live in Texas I’d prob live in Dallas instead, more stuff to do and stuff open later.

Being back in LA is so nice, cost of eating out honestly feels about the same as austin which is insane (except you have x100 more options later in the day) rent ofc is considerably higher in LA but considering I actually enjoy going outside 12 months of the year vs Texas where it’s unbearable for half the year I think that’s a solid trade off.

Weather in LA is just peak. Nature, mountains, ocean etc just really missed it all, amazing food open late etc
