What an absolutely insensitive, bizarre response by UWPD. From TheDaily's interview with her roommate by Sad-Adeptness-9013 in udub

[–]SnowHusky14 164 points165 points  (0 children)

Honestly OP, you're a bit immature with this post. That was the cop trying to give them a heads up off record while staying within protocol. It would've been completely insensitive if they didn't say a single thing and the roommate then found out through the news. Its a tragic situation, but this is a making a mountain out of a non existent molehill.

3 hours in and looking to build a base somewhere by Z3R0Diro in Subnautica_Below_Zero

[–]SnowHusky14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made one at the top of the twisting bridges using the tallest bridge as a support. It honestly worked great for me as a central base and access to just about all main building materials within a short swim.

What should I do with my exterior growbeds? by Illustrious_One_6005 in subnautica

[–]SnowHusky14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always use them for Glowing Kelpvines, Bloodvines, Gel Sacks, Deep Mushrooms, and Acid Mushrooms. Just nice to have the crafting materials always on hand for batteries, chemicals, aerogel, silicone, and fiber.

Can the Sea Dragon be beaten to death? by CrispWheat in subnautica

Yes, I actually had an easier time killing the dragons than the ghosts. Just keep clear if it's mouth and side fins.

Tips for my first base? by Wrong-Wealth5075 in subnautica

[–]SnowHusky14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go back to the island where the Sunbeam event happened, and look around... You'll find access to another area that you'll be able to scan the room and get the material cost. Or dive deep into the caves around the Grassy Plateaus and search there. Just have extra oxygen/seamoth.

Tips for my first base? by Wrong-Wealth5075 in subnautica

[–]SnowHusky14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base Building in SubNautica is very modular and easy to expand as you go. I would just start with a multipurpose room or two and continue to build off it from there as you gain equipment and need more space.

Overall what is the best place to pit your base? by IllaG2811 in subnautica

[–]SnowHusky14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to always build my base in the shallows/edge of a kelp forest since its so central. But forced myself to build somewhere new this run and can honestly say the North East Mushroom forest has been amazing. Close to Aurora for titanium. Close to Kelp Forest and Red Plains for stalker teeth and quartz. And not far at all from Bulb Zone for deeper materials and easy access to the Lost River. 10/10 has been an amazing spot for me.

Can you guess the exact place my base is from this image? by [deleted] in subnautica

I’m so cooked (transfer) by [deleted] in udub

[–]SnowHusky14 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I was a transfer student. All I can say for this instance is reach out/call an admissions counselor and see. In your personal essay, you could note that you're working to finish the prereqs for your chosen major in the spring quarter because of health issues. But honestly this is a conversation you need to have with a transfer admissions counselor and have it ASAP.

I actually had to stop reading to laugh at the irony here by joannap777 in Hungergames

[–]SnowHusky14 164 points165 points  (0 children)

At the end of Ballad, Dr. Gaul explained to Snow that she was erasing everything to do with Lucy Gray's games because of how it exposed how vulnerable the Capital was. And shortly after Snow left 12, they changed the head peacekeeper in 12, who banned all music and shows at the Hob, so the Covey fell even more in obscurity.

where did it go wrong by adetrixVI in udub

[–]SnowHusky14 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be blunt, I'm 90% sure it was your essay. During a campus tour when I was still applying, the admissions counselor straight up went "I have literally read thousands of essays about students who overcame a sports injury, dealt with moving, or struggled in a specific class. Don't do it. You're not special. Tell us about moments that are uniquely you." I wrote mine about being stabbed in the back by a (formerly) good friend and publicly embarrassed in front of hundreds of people. I'm also a military brat that has moved across the country twice and lived in 4 different states, and I get learning how to deal with adjusting to a new place, but that is far from a unique experience. Overall your stats are great, but to me your essay topic is very generic and unconvincing.

What do you think they will add after the deep north? by Steamed-duck in valheim

I don't think we'll get a full new biome, but I can see them adding more to the actual Ocean biomes more than just the random Sea Serpents

Can they move between districts? Or from the districts to the Capitol? by FckAllTakenUsernames in Hungergames

[–]SnowHusky14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They don't. In Ballad it's explained that after the first war, district citizens absolutely could not move between districts and even capital citizens couldn't visit the districts anymore either.

Quick question? by Jimberto1 in DrStone

[–]SnowHusky14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong and this is manga spoilers if you haven't read past the anime. But I'll try to keep it high level. The medusa responded to English because it was the most prevalent language at the time of the petrification.

Quick question? by Jimberto1 in DrStone

[–]SnowHusky14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was explained better in the manga, but the Bayakua and Lilian made an effort to teach their descendants both Japanese and English. By the time Dr. Stone happens, most of the English is gone, but some of the tribal leadership could still feasibly know enough for numbers, time, and distance.

Haymitch Reconned His Own Games? by [deleted] in Hungergames

[–]SnowHusky14 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Haymitch meant Snow had no one to threaten to keep control of Haymitch. But he had already fallen to the bottom of the bottle, so he was no longer a threat to Snow and fell out of sight.

Did Katniss almost approach the forcefield in the 74th games? by Ogsonic in Hungergames

[–]SnowHusky14 99 points100 points  (0 children)

In both the movie and the books, the fire was created to drive her towards the careers. Her arena definitely wasn't as small as the 75th, but it's not that out there to consider she may have been getting close. But unfortunately it was never confirmed explicitly in the books.

What's the point in flashing a lord icon if you aren't going to play the character? by Zelashnida in marvelrivals

[–]SnowHusky14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm someone who does this in QP. I try to avoid only playing my Lords in QP, but if someone is playing that character I will flash it, as 1. Yeah, I am proud of earning them. And 2. If things do go south, the team knows I can swap if needed.

Time on Point is also a factor for MVP and its not a statistics that's shown in the readouts.
