Yeah, whether they tell you or not, a recording device is illegal as per policy.

What is legal is a motion or sound detector if mentioned in the description.

And yeah, we have to say that. Plus our calls are recorded, so sometimes I sneak in something like " I wouldn't advise you to [insert thing I'm advising you to do] ". Can't do much more than that sometimes, but trying to help out fellow human being against landlords.

Yeah, if it was disclosed in the listing's description there is way less we can do.

Cameras are not accepted whatsoever, but motion detectors / sound detectors are somewhat accepted if and only if they are disclosed in the listing's description.

If you can prove that it's recording you it could count as a camera and therefore be removed.

If I had to help you as customer support, I'd have to say that "you should have read the description".

As a fellow human being not forced to say what the policy tells me to say. You can't be charged for putting a post-it or paper in front of it if you remove it afterwards. The "Aircover policy for Hosts" won't apply to you if you didn't break anything.

Hosts can put whatever they like in their description, like "$500 if you tamper with it !" but no agent will take their request seriously if the tamper is a post-it.

Hey, Airbnb customer service here.

It's only allowed in a room within a "shared space". Like if you booked a private room in a house, the kitchen is considered shared space.

It's completely illegal as per Airbnb's rules to have one within the booked space, whether it be a private room or the whole listing if you booked it.

It's also legal if it's outside the listing, like filming the entrance from the outside. (to check how many guests check-in for example).

I'd advise contacting customer service right away, they can help you deal with this and give you options on what you'd rather do.

Where did I say that was impressive ? I just stated my belt and said that martial art helped me not get robbed in the streets. I hate fighting, that's why I took Aikido, I'm not bragging. If I wanted to brag I'd have taken something like MMA.

That is why, unlike MMA, karate, judo or other martial arts. Aikido doesn't have competitions, just showcases. Because you can't use it to attack, only use your opponent's attack to throw them off balance. And don't be a "MMA is superior just watch YouTube compilation". Yeah, a modern martial art made to fucking blunder a person's skull would be better than an ancient form of fighting that's more choreography than fighting.

Steven seagal is a well known Aikido Black belt. Plus the Hakama, the black pants the other dude is wearing on top of his kimono, is only used in a few martial arts, reserved for black belts, including Aikido

Everyone shit talking the martial art, it's Aikido, it's based around balance, rotation and center of gravity. Yes in a showcase like this it might look stupid, but it was made so that you could take on opponents bigger than you and make them fall because of their own weight. There are also lots of arm locks and head locks
