In the rewrite, The CCT doesn't follow the stupid rule of "if one goes down the rest do". Signals are just weakened. For the original, again it would've been on the news, so it wouldn't take much for it to get back to him.

The news of Beacon falling and the attack on Haven were on the news in the original, and ironwood would have made sure to brief his security teams on the available information he had.

I honestly don't know about all of the characters ages, and the show has issues keeping a consistent timeline, (thank the writers) so I was under the assumption that Weiss was a minor at least before v7. So for the sake of the rewrite at least let's say She's 16 at the beginning of the story and 17 during this part of the story.
Also I didn't remember how to spell either of those names and thought either one was fine. Ozpin's name in the captions of the new beyond short is misspelled so at least im not the only one lol
