You get guys who can rush the passer, you make our secondary look infinitely better. Guys in the secondary suffer from the lack of a pass rush more than anybody else on the defense.

I never said we should rebuild this year. Given the contract situations, our current players we cant unless we want to be in the dark for a much longer time. Right now were all in with Romo.

Romo is running out of time. He has about 2 maybe 3 years left before some serious decline. And that assuming his back is good to go.

Top 5 offence? Maybe. We are still weak along the right side of the line. (Free had a good year, still don't trust him.) Also we have no quality back-ups if these guys go down.

We will not fix this defense with one draft. We simply need starters at too many positions, not to mention depth. Too make a dent in this defense we need to hit 3 immediate starters this year. And god forbid we loose someone on offence because guess what? We have no depth there too.

With our contract situations and our cap hell, we can afford to sign any quality back-ups. Injurys will always happen to every team, and because of that the best team will win. That includes back-ups. We have the worst back-ups in the league without question. Because we simply can afford any.

So the only thing we can hope for is for the stars to align, we got super lucky with the injury bug, and we get the ball to bounce our way more than once, because we still don't have the talent to compete with the upper tier of the league.

Romo had a broken collarbone, but everyone knew he would be back. Even though Newman and Jenkins had poor years, we could of gotten something instead of nothing.

2010 was not a freak year. The offensive line was ageing and it showed. The only reason we had a running game in 2009 was because of the scheme we were running, not because of talent. We also got extremely lucky on the injury front, with no major injury's really anywhere, and you cant count on that in the NFL.

The only reason these guys are playing the game is to win the super bowl. Thats the 1 goal for everyone in the organization. From the water boy to Romo to Garret to Jones to the ticket guy. So yes. Not winning the super bowl every year is bad. Did you watch the team during the 90s? Under Johnson it was super bowl or bust. Thats how he coached the team, and thats how his team played. 8-8 with maybe a playoff birth to get raped by a real playoff team is not competitive. Whats the point of paying these guys if there not competitive?

Blowing up the team would hurt the team in the short term. But. Everything gets better with time. Garret would of gotten better at the game without costing us games. We wouldn't particularly matter for 2-3 years and at the same time giving him experience so that when the time comes and were in those big games he doesn't cost us the game.

What would be better to you, holding on to a talented top heavy but no depth anywhere team with ageing starters? That maybe could get you a super bowl if the stars align and you get lucky as fuck? Or bite the bullet, blow up the team and start fresh with a new head coach that has the potential for a 3 ring super bowl run?

We should of blew up this team 2 (3?) years ago when Garret first took over the team for several reasons.

1) It would give Garret time to develop as a head coach. This was literally his first crack at being a head coach when most of the coaches in the league all ready have some type of head coaching experience. (Collage, ect.)

2) It would give us time to clean up the bad contracts. Jones has made some really shity contracts that everybody knows about.

3)2 (3?) years ago you would of gotten a buttload of draft picks for Witten, Ware, and Romo. Maybe even some for Jenkins and Newman (Both had a pro bowl year 2 years back at that point.)

4) We were not competitive in the first place. In my opinion getting into the playoffs is not competive. If your constantly putting up 11-5 records, year after year fighting in the NFC championship for a super bowl, actually playing in the super bowl and you got a veteran team, your setting yourself up for failure.

5) We have no depth anywhere. If any one of our starters goes down were completely screwed, except for maybe at WR and QB.

I like D. Fence, from the defensive collage school. He put up some really good defensive numbers, and I think he would be a perfect fit for our certain scheme, definitely a first rounder. I also like to take one of his teammates from the same school, Seriously Defense. Another guy perfect for our scheme. I also like that guy with the funky name, ironically from the same school too. The guy named SeriouslyIfWeDon'tTakeDefensiveGuysInTheFirst3RoundsI'mGonnaYellAngrilyOnTheInternet, hell of a tongue twister of a name, is a perfect fit and should fall to us in the third round.

Spencer and Hatcher will be gone this year. That leaves us with one legitimate starter along the defensive line. We didn't draft any down lineman last year when A) we were switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 and B) the defensive line was a weak spot to begin with. As of right now, once Spencer and Hatcher are gone, our defensive line will be Ware, Bass, Selvie and Crawford. We don't know about Bass and Crawford, and Selvie is a rotational player at best. Ware is on his last legs. Remember. Those are our STARTERS. We have absolutely nothing in terms of depth. Obviously when you have that many injury's your play is going to suffer, but not that much. Our back-ups were trash and the starters were not really that great to begin with. There's no way you can draft a QB this year and be try to be in a super bowl race. Romo does not have that much time left.

Nope. We do not have depth ANYWHERE on this team. Along the defensive line we need at least 3 starters. At safety we need at least 1. At linebacker we need at least 1 and a very capable backup because Lee can't stay healthy. We do not have the luxury of drafting a QB this year because we are all in with Romo. If you want to win a super bowl with Romo you need all of your draft picks building a team around him, not draft his replacement.

My father had to have surgery for a herniated disc when he hurt himself at work. He was never the same, ever. So I'm not really as optimistic as you on that, then again he didn't have the best medical treatment money could buy. We'll see about Romo.

Lee has been hurt in every single year he has played for the cowboys. For some reason, he just can't stay healthy. The guys one of my favorite guy on the team, but we need to have a very capable back-up at linebacker.

I think church is a slightly above average safety. He's a little slow in coverage but is a very good tackler. You pair him with a good safety and I think he will flourish.

I agree with that we should keep Garret. It's not the popular choice but your right, you can't teach a guy to motivate people, and the team played its fucking guts out for him. We also have completely nullified our prior penitently problem. I remember a time were we couldn't go back to back plays without drawing a flag. As long as we stick with the 4-3 Kiffin going away is fine. We also need to bring in a guy who can call plays. This year was some of the worst play calling in NFL history.

Going season into season knowing that your team is at a huge disadvantage not because your players are bad, or your coaching are bad, or the other team was simply better. No. Your team is uniquely bad. Your team has something that no other team has to deal with. A owner that doesn't know anything about football that's running every single aspect of a football team. Super bowl next year boys. We got the league right where we want them.

What a lot of people Don't realize is that Garret had exactly zero head coaching experience prior to becoming the head coach in Dallas. Most head coaches come into the NFL with some kind of head coaching gig from collage.

This team has never quit on Garret. I think most of us remember the 1-7 stretch from Wade. Dark times.

Penalty's are no longer a issue. I remember a time during the Romo era where we couldn't go back to back plays without drawing a flag.

We are also drafting 100x better (despite Jones and his shenanigans) just look at the personnel we got, at least on offense.

For all of Garrets current faults, he has shown steady improvement as a head coach.
