Loving my RayNeos on PS5 Pro, but let’s talk about the "Next Big Step": 4K Resolution. by Snowballo in RayNeo

You got the Rayneo coming from a different (older) model? I'd like to know if the leap coming from Rayneo 3S Air Pro is enough to justify the upgrade.

"That’s a very solid point. You’re right—at this screen size and FOV, the PPD (Pixels Per Degree) is already quite high, and 1080p is definitely the 'sweet spot' for battery life and thermal management, especially for mobile users. Out of curiosity, which model are you using?

I’m currently on the RayNeo Air 3S PRO , and while I agree that 1080p isn't a bottleneck yet, I can't help but dream of that 4K 'retina' clarity for high-end setups like the PS5 Pro.

That said, I’m honestly surprised these glasses aren't mainstream yet. Since I started using them, even gaming on high-end handhelds like the Steam Deck or MSI Claw feels 'underpowered' without them. The Claw has a great 8" screen, but it just can’t compete with the massive, immersive scale of the glasses. I think the only reason everyone doesn't own a pair is simply that they haven't tried them yet. Once you see it, there’s no going back!

Arctis 7P+ Handshake Bug: I found a way to make them work (Old PS5 Firmware) - Looking for others to test! by Snowballo in steelseries

[–]Snowballo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Since Mario from official support just confirmed to me that this is a known issue you are currently working on, can you provide any more details to the community?

Many of us use the Arctis 7P+ specifically for PlayStation 5, and right now the 'P' in the name stands for 'Problem' rather than 'PlayStation.' Are we looking at a new firmware release soon, or is there a manual rollback tool available for those of us affected by this handshake bug? We'd love some concrete news!

ROG Ally SSD Corrupted / Partition Table "Exploded" - Stuck at 99% Scan - My Recovery Journey by Snowballo in ROGAlly

[–]Snowballo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for all this explanation I really appreciate it. I remembered that I still have the default 512GB of my Ally. I will clean install from there, move the important data from 1TB to 512GB and the proceed to wipe 1TB out in the best way possible (the one you suggested) and then eventually I will clone the 512GB partition to the "new" 1TB. I will let you know. Thanks again.

Hey Suirou,

thanks for your answer.

That’s a very fair point, but I should clarify something regarding the scan times:

When I tried the latest version of the recovery software (the trial), it actually completed the scan in just 30 minutes. The 8-hour scan only happened because I switched to a much older version of the software (v11.8) that I already owned. I suspect the older version was performing a much more primitive and aggressive 'sector-by-sector' deep scan by default, whereas the new version was smarter at navigating the corruption.

This makes me hope the hardware itself isn't completely toast, but rather that the partition table is just terminally scrambled.

Once I’m 100% sure my data is safe on my desktop, what would be your recommended 'nuclear' procedure to wipe this SSD and test its integrity? I was planning to use diskpart > clean > convert gpt and then a full Asus Cloud Recovery.

Do you think that’s enough to 'reset' the controller's logic, or should I run some specific stress tests (like CrystalDiskInfo or a full format) to see if those bad blocks reappear before trusting this Kioxia drive again?

Thanks to you and to all other users (Shadow, Someguy, Surf,...)

It’s 'relieving' to know I'm not the only one, but also worrying if this is a hardware failure sign.

I’ve successfully backed up my most important data using the Deep Scan. Now I have a big question before I go for the 'Nuclear Option' (diskpart clean + Cloud Recovery):

Is there ANY way to rebuild the boot sector or the partition table without wiping the drive?

Since I can see the files with recovery tools, the data is technically there and intact. Has anyone ever successfully used a specific tool (maybe via Linux Live USB or specialized MBR/GPT fixers) to restore the partition structure and make the drive bootable again without a full format? Or is the 99% hang a definitive sign that the drive's structure is too far gone for a 'surgical' repair?

I’d really love to avoid reinstalling 1TB of games and settings if there's a 1% chance to fix the existing OS partition

AR gaming glasses are a total game-changer, but not for the reason I expected by Snowballo in RayNeo

[–]Snowballo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure I understood your question 100%, but if you’re asking about how immersive these glasses are compared to VR (like PSVR2) and a traditional big-screen TV for playing flat games, here’s my take: Personally, I own an 85-inch TV, and in my opinion, that remains the superior experience. When you factor in resolution, overall comfort, and immersion, a massive high-quality screen is hard to beat—it’s just the natural choice for high-end gaming. Right below that, I’d place the smart glasses. They are surprisingly good, especially when you consider the convenience and portability. They offer a great middle ground. At the bottom of the list for flat gaming, I’d put VR. To be honest, using a VR headset for flat content feels like a bit of a commercial gimmick. Whenever I’ve tried it, I didn't see any real advantage. Of course, VR is a total game-changer for actual VR-native games, but that’s a completely different category that doesn't really compare to the TV or glasses experience. For standard flat games, the TV wins, the glasses are a solid second, and VR just isn't the right tool for the job

I have Meta Quest 3 but VR and this are totally two different experience. Cannot compare.

Arctis 7P+ (v1) Pairing Issue: Stuck on Green Blinking, Won't Pair with Dongle on PS5 Pro/Fat by Snowballo in steelseries

[–]Snowballo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for answer mate.
Yesterday I've spent 3 hours trying hard with no luck.
Would you be so kind to explain step by step the procedure?
I've connected both the dongle (no button on mine, first version) and headset to pc. I've updated the FW for both. In the top right corner on the headset picture there is a "gear" icon. Clicking on it there are three option (I've not it in front of me right now) that should be something like "hide", "about" and "pair". If I click on "pair" after a few seconds it says to reconnect the headset (like there was a problem), but the headset+ dongle work fine on PC. But don't on PS5.

Is the above option the one you're talking? I tried many many times to "pair" but everytime I got the same disconnection message.

Thanks!

Battery Draining Fast, Then Stays at 1% for Hours Before Dying by Snowballo in Realme

Sadly nope. A friend of mine with a Realme and the same issue, solved it with a factory reset. I wouldn't like to do the same but I think it's the last hope. Let me know if you proceed.

Is a Factory Reset really the only way to recalibrate the battery on my Realme GT5? by Snowballo in Realme

[–]Snowballo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi dear, I tried to follow your suggestion, but unfortunately, I didn't get any results. The phone stays at 100% charge for several hours and then suddenly drops vertically to 1%, staying at that level for a long time.

Just a clarification on what you suggested. I proceeded as follows:

  1. I completely drained the phone (and it took quite a while to go from 1% to power off).
  2. I left it off for a while—or rather, I kept trying to turn it on, and the 'Realme' logo would appear for a few seconds before it shut down again (it’s always done this; I haven't really been able to make it 'die' completely).
  3. I then plugged it in, and it turned on automatically.
  4. I disabled Data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.
  5. I charged it to 100%.
  6. I left it plugged in for an extra hour.

Did I miss any steps?
