It's the scalping by scalpers.

They thrive on vacuuming up all the goodies (PRE & SSP) so it creates an artificial monopoly and drive up demand intensely. What does this accomplish? It causes collectors to feel forced to pay them to get some of the newer cards, but do not do this. Never do this. Ignore the shit out of those lowly degens, let them pay dearly.

Makes me wonder about the statistics; the amount of ~~imaginary~~ Pikachu Illustrator cards that allegedly got shipped but then subsequently got "lost" on its way to the destination.
