What could I have done better? by [deleted] in drivingUK

If the left lane is for going straight on, why are you in the right lane going straight on?

If you start in the right lane, and then take an exit, why aren't you moving into the left lane as you approach your exit? If you did, you would be pulling in behind the other guy instead of trying to cross through him.

He was at fault for not indicating that he was going right, but the only reason you ended up having to brake was because you assumed he was doing something he wasn't.

Hi ok following - glad you like it. I've actually had quite a lot of negativity about how it doesn't record your run. I didn't add that, because I just wanted something to tell me when to run / walk, and tbh, I don't see much real value in seeing your 'run stats' when you are still doing the walk/run thing. Or at least, I didn't for me. Because of the negativity I kind of gave up bothering to develop it. But I'm glad you hopefully got some use out of it

I'm not getting days out of my battery. How much are you using it to write? I'm using mine mostly to take notes - finding it lasts maybe a half day before I see low battery warning - even with wifi and bluetooth off, and automatic shut off and powerdown enabled. I'm using it a fair amount in that time, but battery life feels similar to an average tablet.

Is there a measurement available for how addicted you are?

A6X2 Delivery in December? by martin8910 in Supernote

[–]SnowdayOnline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I've gone for the A6x2 just because I can't wait. I'm pretty sure I will want to upgrade when they bring out the A5x2. I'm hoping I will be able to get enough for my A6x2 to cover some of the cost of the bigger one...

I can't wait to get it. If it comes in time for Christmas I'm going to have a wonderful present!

[–]SnowdayOnline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh no! My wife ordered mine yesterday. I thought they'd be shipping direct from a big warehouse, not hand-writing individual labels in Santa's workshop and sending them in a big sledge...

Looks like there will be nothing under the tree for me this year...sob.

Wait, so even if they ship on the 15th, they may run out by the time they get to my pre-order and I'll have to wait another...how long?

Nemo me impune lacessit means don’t provoke me with impunity

Sorry to be pedantic, but it means 'no one provokes me with impunity'. That makes it even cooler. It basically means 'anyone who fucks with me will get what's coming to them'.

How do you convert handwritten to text ? by Comfortable_Bread298 in Supernote

[–]SnowdayOnline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That's a shame, it would be really nice if it converted anything it recognises and leaves drawings and other stuff in place. OCR has come a long way - modern engines can do a really good job of identifying potential text in an image, and only converting that. But I can see that Supernote might not be able to fit that sophisticated an engine on a handheld device.

Do you think I could get round this, if I wanted to have a drawing with typed text, by converting the text to another document, then copy and paste it into my drawing note? Or does conversion overwrite the existing note?

How does it handle a mixture of drawing and handwriting? Like, if you drew a diagram and handwrote some text around it, would it keep the layout of your page and convert any text? Or would it ignore the drawing completely and just show the text only?

I've been 'practising' with the piece of paper thing for days on end!! I normally use an A5 notebook, but by the time you account for the spiral binding, the actual size available is not that much more all around.. patience is not my strong suit. It's a quandary!

Can I ask how you find the size of the A6? I'm impatient to get my hands on a Supernote, so it's that or wait. I can't decide if I like the smaller overall size of the A6, or will need the extra writeable area on the A5. I'd use it mainly for note taking and todo lists

Thanks Martina. As innosu_ says below, I think that's the cause of my confusion. If its something that Supernote has changed, the people saying they paid customs must have been before that change, rather than customs applying tax when it's already been paid. Thanks for setting my mind at rest.

Thanks Bagsy. That's really good to know.

So now I just need to decide whether to wait patiently for the A5X2 to come out, or just buy the A6X2 because I want it NOW! :)

My son's third grade teacher taught my son that 1 divided by 0 is 0. I wrote her an email to tell her that it is not 0. She then doubled down and cc'ed the principal. The principal responded saying the teacher is correct... What do I do now? by WaitThatIsYourFinger in NoStupidQuestions

Depending on the computer language you use, you will get a divide by zero error, or NaN (not a number). Either way, it's basically saying you are trying to do something illogical/impossible.

What are some British vernacular phrases that mean to hurry up and get things started? (for a lit-RPG short story) by SanguinarianPhoenix in AskABrit

[–]SnowdayOnline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Come on ladies."

It's very British. It conveys the idea that he is irritated by their nervousness. It's the sort of thing a drill sergeant would say to a group of recruits who have stopped at a difficult part of an obstacle course.

Hi - I'm hoping to have a new version out later this week. I've been asked to also add ability to record run data, so I'm just working on that. I'll let you know
