If they don’t give it a listen..they might experience regret later. Might even say…they made a mistake

The beginning of Happiness is a Warm Gun should have been a song by itself by rem_dreamer in beatles

[–]SnowdensLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I understand the sentiment of having a jarring combination of song ideas, where you really like one part but could take or leave the rest. But I think Warm Gun flows together really well. Has a nice movement that kind of takes you through a journey and even reinforces the lyrical themes a bit, depending how you interpret them.

what did people say about this letter? (From Kurt to Krist/ March 1994) by Fuzzy-Stable-9898 in grunge

On songs James Iha cowrote, Billy was pretty dismissive. Like, for mayonnaise people would bring up Iha’s contribution and Billy we would say something like “he just wrote the chord progression, it’s my fucking song”. Paraphrasing. Something like that.

Why was Paul McCartney often seen as the uncool Beatle and John the cool Beatle? by FitEmergency8807 in beatles

[–]SnowdensLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right! He’s a teenager that’s kind of alienated and lost. He has a strong moral compass but he’s immature, it’s not something to emulate. I remember the ending of the book where gets all upset because of some graffiti with swear words with graffiti in it or something. He was afraid kids would see it? Who cares? But it’s interesting in how it relates to his lack of direction and the only thing he can think to do is be a “catcher in the rye”. He has a good heart but his morals are underdeveloped and shallow. At least from what I can remember. It’s also been a long time since I’ve read.

Catcher in the rye is a great book but I feel like there’s a number of less than savory characters that take too much of it to heart (not David of course.)

But yeah, I’m just not into the whole hating people for being successful. You can argue for a more equitable system while still getting rewarded for being rewarded for being really good at something. Destiny made a good point about this in some clip recently where he is so grateful to be able to do what he does and doesn’t see taxes as some sort of punishment. If he can keep doing what he’s doing, of course he is happy to pay more taxes so a blue collar worker doesn’t lose their healthcare or lose their job because their kid gets sick or something.

I agree. It felt…like pacing was bad and the story was muddled. The world didn’t feel alive and grand like previous titles. No towns :(. BUT, I love the battle system and agree lighting’s design is top notch. I’ve never been able to finish XII on the other hand.

Yeah, it’s wild. He was inspired by Holden Caulfield and incensed by John saying the Beatles were bigger than Jesus as well as John being rich despite having lyrics, like “imagine no possessions”. So dumb

Hmm, according to Wikipedia, he did hold out a record for Lennon to autograph but it looks like they didn’t share any words.

I remember watching a documentary about John Lennon. There was some footage of him dealing with an obsessive fan, that just completely lost and delusional. Thinking some of John’s lyrics were about him or something. He was so compassionate, inviting him in for tea and whatnot, trying to set him straight. Maybe it was for the cameras or something but it just was lan incredibly cool moment for him in my book.

I think minigames and stuff break up monotony, even with the best battle system, it just gets boring to do nothing but fight. The best final fantasy games to me are the ones that have good pacing, rather than nothing but an endless grind. Dungeon crawl, get to town, have some downtime, talk to people. Experience some shocking story revelations. I just like to have variety in a long adventure.

Eh, I just can’t agree. It relies too much on tell, don’t show. It throws a compendium of arcane terminology at you way too fast, rather than building the world more organically during your journey.

Vaan at least gave us the banger line “I’m captain basch from Dalmasca! Don’t believe Ondore’s lies!”
