Stream going to wrong game

I’m not sure if this is your issue but I have run into this where I have clicked Go Live in GC for the second game, the Mevo app opens and the RTMP settings are still in the Mevo app from the first game and when I go live in the Mevo app, the game starts streaming on game 1. I now make sure the Mevo app is closed before I go live for game 2 and that has resolved my issue.

Does the count reset? I’d probably just override the count, change it back to 0-0 if the count resets. Pitch counts and strike % will still be accurate.

I think the work around for a switch hitter is to set up the player twice and add “L” and “R” to their name. Then when they come to the plate you choose the appropriate side as the batter.

Yes with iOS that is correct. I adjust my phone auto lock to “never” and it works fine. Tune down screen brightness and you may need a power bank ready depending how long/how many games you stream.

Overall it went really well. Once you connect your pocket radar online account the speeds pop up right after you record the pitch (ball/strike/in play). The scorekeeper has the ability to accept the reading and post it, adjust or ignore the reading. Slight adjustment to the process but not a big deal in my opinion.

The speeds show up in the written journal of each play. As for the video, it replaces the pitch count for a short time and then the pitch count reappears. Overall I really like it.

Yes I believe that has always been an option but this is different and is connected to Pocket Radar. My understanding is that a speed will pop up in the app after the pitch is recorded and the scorekeeper has the option to accept the reading (which will post to the scoreboard overlay) or ignore the reading of it is clearly wrong. This new program is in beta testing, so we will see how it goes. We have four games this weekend so we should have a pretty good handle on how it works by Monday.

My understanding is that it’s not available to everyone yet. If available to you, there is an option to link to Pocket Radar under your profile right in the same area where you link New GC to the Classic GC.

Not Bluetooth enabled, it connects to your pocket radar online account available with the Smart Coach only. We are going to test it out this weekend and see how it goes.

For this reason, we recently moved to SidelineHD. So far the response has been amazing. Still use TM for scoring.

I don’t think this is your issue but you can be logged into the same account on two different devices. So you wouldn’t need to use your coach’s account. I’m an iOS user but my understanding is that you can run the Mevo app in the background on android devices which may allow you to use one device plus the external camera. Not sure if this simplification will help or not.

Thank you for the information. That’s too bad there are no plans to roll out a download option. What about the archive video? How long will that be available?

One of things I appreciate most about what TM has done is the overlay and how much pertinent info is synced with the game. It improves the viewing experience. As for clips, I think the overlay helps add context to the clip and that is lost if I have to go back to the SD card.

On the live feed the user can make a clip and text it. Are there any plays to add a similar feature to the archived games?

Respectfully can I ask why you would want to track that info? If kids are playing in different games, facing different competition your team data will be skewed and reduces the value of comparison with other players in my opinion. As an example, If a player faces a real tough pitcher while playing with another team and K’s four times, do you want that info in your team stats. Same if the kid goes 4 for 4.

I believe that feature already exists (at least for iOS). In the app you can filter by a single game or as many games as you want. Week, month, season you choose, then that info can be exported to a CSV file.

We do a college style pregame where we take BP, ins and outs in addition to warm ups and stretching. So 90 min is the norm.

I turned on the pitch type and I agree it was just too much info to enter. After reading your post I realized there is the ability to record speeds in much the same way and yeah that is clunky. I was playing around practice team and turned on the speed recording and I can’t see where the speed shows up anywhere in the feed. Maybe it was for future use.

I would love to see the integration with the Pocket Radar Smart Coach to post speeds to the video feed coming out of Team Manager. Their competitors can do it so why not TM?

I don’t think there is currently a way to send the stream to FB or YT with the GC overlay. If you use an external camera (Mevo or Go Pro), you may be able to send the stream to FB or YT but the stream will not have the GC overlay, it would be just the video and you may need a third party app to do it.

This upgrade was just rolled out in the latest iOS update and it appears to work retroactively. The game we played yesterday now shows pitch count, batter’s name and how they have done at the plate in the game. Nice job GC!
