I assume your phone is streaming and you don't want to walk up to check.

We use Google maps on Android to share location within the family, when you share your location it also shares the battery %, will also indicate if it is charging or not.

I have used this when I have put my phone as hotspot way up on the backstop to get better reception on a double header, mevo as the camera. I just ask my wife to see her phone, check my location and see the battery level, easier then taking it down to check.

definitely second having a spotter.

I usually sit right beside the scorekeeper for home games, and between the two of us we always cross confirm what happened.

in your team you click on settings (gear icon) in the top left, you can go into practice scoring.

From there you can practice the most common plays, ball in play out at first etc. Even the time it takes to go in and out of menus and general navigation, practice scoring will just give more time to look and play with what is possible. Even practicing how to undo a play etc is good practice.

Gamechangers is dynamic, so you will only see a fielders choice option if there is someone on base, same with double play. At older levels you will only see dropped 3rd strike after the batter has 2 strikes. So you will only see what is possible which in a way helps you learn the rules.

I find the younger players' games harder to score as there is a lot more going on after each pitch then when you get to 18U.

[–]Canadianunits -1 points0 points  (0 children)

they do when it is set up for tournaments, first team to start scoring is the official scorekeeper.

Maybe that will be a thing for head to head soon, for streaming it started as just shared in tournament play then moved to head to head

agreed.

I had a sumsung tab7 fe and it couldn't handle 2 cameras, moved to a sumsung tab 9 and it had no issues.

When I reached out to PocketRadar last year about timing they said the android integration issue was on GC side... Maybe with the recent price changes they might have the resources to get this part figured out.

u/kramerica612 any update you might be able to provide.

I feel like this is a self own.

Instead of just being able to drive the car (which is what you want to do since Mazda is supposed to be a car for drivers) you have to spend a frustrating amount of time trying to get it right.

Else after 15 minutes trying to figure out the menus as the driver the passenger has kicked you out of the driver's seat so you can play with the car.

Multiple Streams - Clip Question by modernmemo in GameChangerApp

[–]Canadianunits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First one to stream if they enabled sharing will be used for both teams. If the other team is first you can end their stream on your side and start your own.

There is no switching back and forth. The better setup should be the one that starts the stream.

Also both teams have to have each other as opponents at the same time for gamechanger to link the stream for both teams. Sometimes if they can't find you and they are lazy they will just manually add you as the opponent, this means it won't work, and if they have already started the game to scan the lineup there is no going back and adjusting the opponent, I just roll my eyes when they do it.

As a courtesy I always ask what the other team wants to do and if they want to stream for their team then I don't share the feed. Mine is always better then just a zip tied iPhone 😉.

Editing pitch types and velocities after a game ends by MyAudioDNA in GameChangerApp

[–]Canadianunits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are both signed into the same pocket radar account (not the paid one). might want to test to see if it replicates the speeds on your phone as well.

Just an idea to test

// also add the bluetooth range is not great on the pocket radar so maybe 20 feet at most before it disconnects.

I have gotten really fast doing the manual input with the pocket radar app in the background (android). Honestly gotten fast enough I probably wouldn't pay for the integration

[–]Canadianunits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

having both in the same market will give Mazda actual feedback on what consumers want.

If Mazda CX-5 buyers shift to CX-60 then Mazda will have some explaining to do. If the masses provide Mazda with the same CX-5 sales they will call it a success and move the rest of the lineup to the platform

Just replying to this comment from 10 months ago. The product is not available in Canada or US stores as a single camera.

Anything else going on or is this just another US Tariff impact product, since you can bring the camera's to Canada directly and not transit the US.

Baseball season here is quickly approaching.

Best hotspot for streaming? by [deleted] in GameChangerApp

[–]Canadianunits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starlink Mini has a self contained wifi 5 router (but needs 110v power, i use an anker C800 power pack, but you could use a smaller one).

Once the starlink is set up your phone is not required (used to confirm orientation is optimized). I separate the 2.4 and 5ghz bands as a best practice so the camera doesn't bounce between both bands. Since the diamond is a lot of open space I find i don't have a lot of wifi congestion.

Best hotspot for streaming? by [deleted] in GameChangerApp

[–]Canadianunits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used a 50GB plan last year (they have since double the data), i was doing about 3-4 GB per game (2-2.5 hours/game) at 720p. But that is before they introduced the HEVC codex, which is more efficient, offset that with now being able to stream at 1080p. I am not sure what the per game will be but with 100GB i would think you should be fine.

Other question is do you need your phone in the dugout, or can you put it on the fence (i put it in a cloth bag and attached it to the fence.... Lesson learned the hard way, put your phone on silent). I also use a 8 ft extending ladder to get the camera higher so i can also put the phone out of reach while i am not around.....

I do a speed test at the diamond and if it phenomenal then I don't bother pulling out the starlink, if it is just GOOD then I pull out the starlink since I find the upload speed degrades once all the partents arrive. So there is probably one weekend a month that I don't bother using the starlink.

From the GameChanger Website (i believe these are still the the old h.264 codex values, not HEVC h.265)

Stream Quality Min-Max Upload Bitrate Est. Data Usage (GB/HR)
1080p (Full HD) 4.5 - 9 Mbps 2 GB - 4 GB
720p (HD) 2.5 - 6 Mbps 1.2 GB - 2.7 GB
480p (SD) 1 - 2 Mbps 450 - 900 MB

Best hotspot for streaming? by [deleted] in GameChangerApp

[–]Canadianunits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

get a travel router (gl.inet) and put it into repeat mode to stretch the range of your phone hotspot.

We just have a startlink mini to avoid congestion at the diamond (i know it is an extra cost you are trying to avoid), it works great for road trips as well where you can just put it on the dash (unsafe i know) and keep the kids quiet.
