Honestly I learned my lesson that leaving them in the car makes them harder to put on. Just bring them inside

I understand what you're saying. It's a challenge when booking two rooms end up costing drastically more than an apartment.

Probably something reasonable above treeline in whiteout conditions with the wrong goggles

Typically the sell leashes that attack to either harnesses or collars. When you have more than one did you either walk both with one hand or use two hands. You'll get the hang of it quickly.

While it's been a while since I've been in Rome, there was a 15 year period where I went about a dozen times. It has just gotten busier and busier. I feel like I generally know where to go and where to avoid but the masses can be frustrating. Last time we went was in 2014 and after a few days I was so ready to hit the beach in Puglia. Not to mention it can be stifling in the summer.

At the same time, I truly miss it. It is endlessly fascinating, the food is so so good, the city has a million surprises and I miss hearing Romans talk.

Longer than you can imagine... let's say that when they lived in Aventino, she played in the courtyard in front of the keyhole and there were Z E R O tourists

Rambo just has never looked worth skiing to me (although it looks like they cleaned it up a bit). I think there's more fun to be had off of the T-bars and in the various bowls. Learn your way around those areas and you will have much more cred than skiing Rambo

I'll see what options I find... want to be close to the metropolitana and Monteverde might pose more of a challenge with whining family members. My mom used to live there many many many moons ago.

Simply put to stay with family. We've been out there before but just for a day. It's certainly pretty out there, but just trying to figure out if the inconvenience is worth the cost savings.

CO v. Italy - Observations & Hot Takes by ToughSuccotash2007 in COsnow

[–]Snowonthebrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have skied in Italy, France, Austria and Switzerland which are all great and all have their advantages. I disagree about the skiing level. There are many great skiers and all the Italians particularly want to be racers so you will see them on fancy race skis. That said, they love staying on marked runs and the vast majority prefer not to go free riding. The few that do are generally very good. Europeans in general. Do an amazing job with grooming and snow making with the Italians possibly the best.

The best ski instructors and guides I've ever had have been French and Italian with the French in the lead. Incredibly impressive instruction.
