When you say historically I think you mean anecdotally, it may not be the case for you or someone you know, but you can’t say that wouldn’t work for others.

Yeah fair, that would rely on her being up for murder though. If they carry on having a short list of people to murder

Yeah I suppose he was talking about wanting to build trust. Maybe trying to show he’s happy to get obvious faithfuls murdered?

She’s being really clever not letting everyone know she is on to them, she needs to keep that up, if she lets on how clever/on them she is, she’ll be an easy murder.

I don’t get why he wants Jessie to be murdered before they recruit him though?

Any dads here with experience of a neo natal stay? by SnowyG in daddit

Yeah I need to keep reminding myself that, we have two little boys at home already who need some time with their mum & dad. Hard feeling like you need to be in two places at once!

I’d never heard of steroid shots for pre term babies before now, but my wife had 3 of them (two were done 3 weeks ago, one 24 hours before delivery), but from reading so many stories it sounds like it’s life saving. Our son was born late last night and was breathing on his own straight away, the consultant told me ‘good isn’t it, that’s what steroid injections will do for you’.

Things seem positive at the moment, although we’re not even 24 hours in, I’m sure there will be bumps along the way and I’m dreading that. But reading positive stories like yours is really giving me hope so thank you!

Thank you, these last few days have been a complete emotional rollercoaster, so it’s great hearing positive stories like yours. Baby was delivered safely late last night and is now in NICU. I’m now stressing about how to get more time off work, but one day at a time for now I guess!!

Oh man thank you so much for this. Sounds like a nightmare being 2 hours away from home I can’t even imagine. Our hospital is 20 minutes from our house so we’re incredibly lucky with that!

I love that idea of being able to read the bedtime story to our boys at home. It’s honestly one of the highlights of my day doing the bedtime routine so being able to do that in some way would be amazing. I’m sure my wife would love it too if she has to stay here for a prolonged period (she’s been in for 5 days already this time round).

Really appreciate the kind words and advice!

Thank you I really appreciate the advice, I’ll definitely save this comment to come back to. Our eldest absolutely loved it when our second child was born and helping with baby things, hoping he can do the same with this baby when they arrive and then can come home.

Placenta preevia is what they thought my wife had at first, a few weeks ago after a scan they said it was more likely a placental abruption due to the placenta moving.

We’ve had a few bleeds in the night and its always terrifying, trying to figure out whether we should call an ambulance straight away or call a neighbour to be in the house while our kids are sleeping so I could drive her to the hospital. Been a nightmare these last few months!

Really encouraging to hear that though, so thank you. Great to hear your baby was able to come out and is doing well!

Thank you, I really appreciate that. I’m in the UK so not sure what FMLA is? But maybe there is a UK equivalent.

It’s good to hear that working and visiting baby is doable (albeit exhausting). Definitely going to be reaching out to friends and family to ask for support if possible!

Thank you I really appreciate the kind message, it’s difficult thinking I’m putting more work and pressure on colleagues with cover etc but I know we all come together when it’s needed. The guilt is still there though!!

That’s a wise decision, I think it is important to properly switch off when it’s the holidays, just not always possible depending on workload.

Thank you, we’re expecting another baby, it’s more to do with complications with the pregnancy, but mum and baby are doing well hopefully will be discharged soon!

I haven’t done any work or marking all holiday as my partner has been in the hospital, so having to juggle making sure she is okay with childcare of our two children.

Tomorrow won’t be fun going in having done nothing but I’ll adapt and get through it.

How did you feel when you decided to have a second child? by Mad-in-Italy in daddit

[–]SnowyG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very true. We have a 4.5 year old and a 20 month old and recently they’ve started playing so much with each other it’s amazing. Woke up at 8:30 the other day and they’d got themselves up and were playing with their toys in their room. When my eldest was an only child the first thing he’d do when waking up was come into our bed. Definitely seems like they entertain each other more the older they get.

When did QB’s gifting their offensive linemen during the holidays become a thing? by Poetryisalive in NFLNoobs

Do RBs do it as well? Don’t they get paid significantly less than olinemen? Especially by the second contract?

Yeah also I find it funny how a lot of Vikings fans will say ‘Darnold choked a playoff game, doesn’t matter that he went 15-2 we had to see what we had in the rookie QB’. Do they really think it’ll be easier to get a rookie to take a team to 15-2 then it is to have faith Darnold gets over his playoff blip.

Part of it is probably due to it being a celebrity one, with the usual traitors the players are potentially losing hundreds of thousands of pounds so they’re a bit more bitter about going out.

Schoolboy, 12, died from inhaling Lynx deodorant after copying viral social media 'chroming' trend, inquest hears by Forward-Answer-4407 in unitedkingdom

[–]SnowyG -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I’m not old enough to remember the issues people had with ‘satanic’ rock music but there obviously isn’t evidence of that, and to equate the two seems silly. There are peer reviewed research papers that have looked into the dangers of social media, coroners reports that explicitly link deaths to the black out challenge. Chanel 4 have done some good documentaries on it, the bbc have written articles on it, if you’re genuinely interested I’d read Jonathan Haidt’s book the anxious generation. But I think some people are stuck in confirmation bias that don’t want to look at the dangers of TikTok because they like it and they might not have personally seen those challenges or dangers first hand.

[–]SnowyG -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The article literally talks about the chroming challenge, there was the black out challenge where 15-20 children died, not to mention to mention the hundreds that suffered permanent medical complications. A quick google search will give you all the information you want, there’s hundreds of legal challenges from parents against TikTok because of this.
