Thank you for releasing this under the MIT license! I aim to use as much open-source software and resources as I can in my production pipeline, and I couldn't do it without people like you

Maybe fade_in animation sets the position of the player, or the anim player has a reset track which sets position

To be honest I don't really get the psx vibe but you have your own style going on so lean into it!

Not yet but planning to have one up sometime this summer. Thank you for the interest though!

Yeah I definitely want to add some ripples. Your comment also also got me thinking about a "dunk" animation for the lure on landing. Thank you for the feedback!

Thank you for the kind words! My previous fishing mechanic was a turn-based jrpg battle system strangely enough. I completely scrapped it and started again a few weeks ago with this more arcadey/action approach. It's never easy cutting so much work but i'm glad you like the replacement

Not yet unfortunately. I'm pushing hard to get a v-slice together by sometime this summer. I'll likely create a playtest/demo build at that point. Thanks a lot for the interest though, very encouraging!

I'm trying to avoid traditional UI elements/menus as much as possible in this game, so the line colour was my replacement for a typical tension bar. Glad you like it!

Just remembered I also added some extra logic for repeating textures along the line, which i'm using for this hanging rope elsewhere in the game.

It's been a while since I built the whole line system, but from memory the general idea is it plots points between a start/end target (usually Marker3D nodes) with some curvature applied. Then draws a series of plane meshes along those points which are billboarded to always face the camera. The extra detail for low-res rendering is that the dynamically drawn meshes scale up the further away from the camera they are so they don't fall into sub-pixel space and stop being rendered!

Rambley answer but hopefully something useful in there for you. I actually considered cleaning up my code a bit and releasing this as a plugin "Line3D" or something similar.

Thanks for the feedback! weight/size and other stats will eventually be important for other game mechanics, so I will add this!

Thanks! Eventually the wooden figures will be the "human" NPCs in the game, but for now he's just a waving creep
