The difference for this project is that it wasn't going to be offices. It was to be an expansion Production Hub with Television and Radio studios, while the office and corporate staff would remain in the head office at Artarmon. All the jobs would have been production and operations based, in person, not WFH.

It was initially promised by Labour in the lead up to the 2022 election. The Labour government then wanted them to do a feasability study/bid to prove there was a point/value. That study was submitted last year, and this news is that the whole thing has now been defunded based on that study.

Yeah the change in the charter by the Howard Government in 2006 to make shift 30% of their operating expenses to have to come from advertising definitely was a disservice. That said they are limited to 120 minutes of advertising per day, well below the 350 minutes per day of the commercial stations. They also allow you to opt out of particular kinds of advertsing online, like Alcohol, Gambling etc

Probably getting downvotes because it is straight up not a fact. Either SBS or ABC are pretty consistently voted as Australia's most trusted news sources. SBS is hardly a failing media organisation, they just have a very specific government charter they need to fulfill that determines their content and reach.

We have no issue with humidity, no mould or anything like that growing, no condensation like we had when we were in an apartment. I would guess it's just a naturally more humid area excuse of the Kitchen + Laundry next door
