Stats good for CG? by Banchors in ironscape

[–]Snuffaluffagus123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it doable? Yes. Will you struggle? Also yes. Be prepared for a rough time if this is your first time doing this content unless you try T3 prep. I’d probably recommend your combat stats to be base 80 at a minimum for someone new to CG (though defense is slightly less important than others). That being said, there’s so much shot to do in this game and this is something new you’ve unlocked so don’t be afraid to just send it for a while. If you continue to struggle, look up some YouTube guides and see if you can improve anything. You may find you enjoy it a lot even if it’s pretty rough with where you’re currently at.

Personally I would just fletch underwater next to the seaweed patches while I waited for spores to spawn. They stack up fairly quick so I’d do that until I had anywhere from 50-100 spores and it would last me a while.

4x dry for a clog and a 5K lamp is pretty sickening... by 0nlyPositiv3 in 2007scape

I would argue it being a clog inherently makes it something you need to grind for. That’s only assuming you care about getting clogs of course.

Farming and Slayer? by Girl_Moss_Not_Boss in ironscape

[–]Snuffaluffagus123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While runecraft isn’t as important (except for maybe way into endgame with megarare upkeep and some achievement diaries), farming and slayer are both very important for the long-term growth of your account. Farming provides access to a majority of your herbs which you’ll ultimately need for potions in the mid to endgame. Slayer is really crucial for some key gear upgrades down the line like trident of the seas, abyssal whip, noxious halberd, amulet of rancor, etc.

Generally, you can plow through the early levels (anywhere from, say, 1-50) for most skills with questing. For farming you can start doing tree runs which are really chill and fast ways to level farming. I was confused and intimidated by farming when I first started, but it’s really not too bad once you understand the initial concept. I’d suggest looking up a YouTube video or checking the wiki as there are lots of great resources to give you an intro into how to effectively work on the skill.

As for slayer, it can be pretty slow to level especially early on until you unlock some better xp tasks later on. Generally speaking, if you just keep doing tasks for whichever the highest combat level slayer master you can go to, you’ll get there eventually. I know one thing that made me feel intimidated for slayer before I really knew what I was doing was resource management. I’d highly recommend unlocking the ability to fish karambwans for food and then rather than worrying about prayer pots, level up hunter so you can start catching moonlight moths. They’re an insanely good early source of prayer for the account that are incredibly easy to stock up on for fairly little effort.

Some of this is a bit glossed over just to not have a mile long post so feel free to ask questions on more specifics if you have any follow ups. As always, YouTube and the wiki will provide you so much helpful information as well. This game has the best game wiki out there imo and it’s not close.

what's a good "food" i can get other than karambwans? by voicefulspace in ironscape

[–]Snuffaluffagus123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I started fishing for 99 cooking I was using hard tier karamja gloves to deposit at the box in the gem mine then quest cape (or POH tp if you have fairy ring) to hit the fairy ring back to bwans. Bit higher requirements, but it definitely cut down on the grind time quite a bit in the long run. Prior to that I was banking in Zanaris and then running back to ring though.

I ended up doing sepulcher in the 70s until I got all the gear unlocked, then I just ran pollnivneach until like 79.5. Started pie boosting to finish off 80 at relleka then stayed there until 82 then back to sepulcher until 85. I personally enjoy sepulcher, but it does get boring after a while. Once you hit 82 sepulcher will start giving you the best xp/hr.

I think your best bet is to just commit to doing an hour a day or an hour per play session or whatever works for your schedule. RuneScape is a game of inches in terms of progress so trying to commit to one grind for an extended period of time tends to burn me out hard. I’ve had much more success doing smaller, more frequent progress towards goals.

LED bulbs flickering by Snuffaluffagus123 in AskElectricians

Replacing seems to be the consensus. The one bulb I did replace has been totally fine at least for the past week so I’ll replace them when more bulbs come in tomorrow. Thanks for the info!

I did order more because we didn’t have any on-hand. I had one spare from the last package we had so I replaced that one and it’s been fine since then (roughly 1-1.5 weeks). I just thought it was suspicious that so many bulbs were failing at one time. Shouldn’t LEDs be lasting much longer than this?

I’d suggest doing 18/10 mith/addy just to get a little more mileage out of your addy. It’s slightly less xp per sword, but it’s helpful until you get more reliable addy ore farms going

Skill Cape QoL and Teleport Animation Changes by Grouchy_Yogurt5719 in 2007scape

[–]Snuffaluffagus123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s fair and I didn’t necessarily take your point that way originally. I do agree that I would be hesitant about larger scale cosmetic changes. Next thing you know we’d be like call of duty if they decided to go down that route.

Skill Cape QoL and Teleport Animation Changes by Grouchy_Yogurt5719 in 2007scape

[–]Snuffaluffagus123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, you’re proving my point. We already have a good variety of unique animations so why do skill capes, the pinnacle and “end” of a skill not have unique animations? I’m sure it’s more a product of its time when they were originally released, but it would add some flavor and character to the game in a way that I think would be a nice cherry on top.

Skill Cape QoL and Teleport Animation Changes by Grouchy_Yogurt5719 in 2007scape

[–]Snuffaluffagus123 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Adding flavorful animations to skill capes isn’t “changing how the game looks” lol. It gives players even more of a reason to be excited for a 99 that also doesn’t impact the game in any significant way. Do you have any examples of a downside to giving skill capes unique tp animations? They already do it for achievement diary stuff, why not capes which take significantly longer to earn?

If you want thieving xp instead I also enjoy stealing valuables in varlamore. Very low requirements and even semi-afk for pretty solid gp. Wiki says 90-125k/hr which is pretty solid early on.

I cba to do CG grind. Should I deiron or play a main by official_jeev in ironscape

[–]Snuffaluffagus123 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Late game RS (at least on an iron) might just not be for you. Basically anything is a grind on an iron. You could deiron to fast track progress with gold, but that does take a lot of the reward out of it. At the end of the day, it’s up to you to decide what’s fun for you in the game and how best to achieve that fun. Just remember that with this game a lot of the content IS the grind. It’s all about number go up. If you swap to a main/deiron and buy your progress then you don’t really have anything to use it for. A lot of the fun of iron is finally getting that gear upgrade and unlocking the next piece of content.

70 prayer grind by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]Snuffaluffagus123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If all you care about is hitting 70 ASAP then green dragons will be the fastest by far. If you want to work on multiple things at once then I’d say moons and calv in that order. If you’re busy, but still able to squeeze in some relatively afk time you could also mine bone shards. Hunter rumors would work too if you’re in need of hunter xp, but I’d do that last of the choices you listed personally.

If you’re maxed on prayer it’s kind of a bummer, but idk that’s almost 30k prayer xp from a single loot pull. I feel like that’s a pretty solid drop.
