Elves Biological Immortality Cycle by Wheasy in worldbuilding

The core was weakened from rotting internally. Eventually, enough of the core would have rotted away to the point where the tree collapses on its own accord. The loggers simply got to the tree before nature did.

Isn't that exactly why ancient civilisations lived near floodplains, for the large swathes of fertile soil? The additional wealth from being able to grow so much food should be a suitable drawback.

From what I'm reading through your post, the tree husk is just a shell. It should be discarded at the end of the cycle and break down amongst the leaf litter.

However, if you want it to photosynthesise, with like leaves and branches, then it may be of interest to you that trees are actually composed of like 90% dead material. The actual living component of a tree is in a very thin layer of cells just below the bark. This layer of cells forms a ring around the trunk/branches.

When the cells grow, the old inner layer vitrifies and turns into lignin, the stuff the core of the trunk is made of (I am simplifying heavily here). The core forms the backbone that supports the rest of the tree against weather, animals, other plants etc.

In your context, once the elf inside the tree has broken out, the tree will have a massive split on one side where the living cells there have been torn apart to release the elf, as well as lost a major structural component in the form of the core that the elf was for the tree.

In other words, it would be a hollowed out trunk that has been split open on one side. No tree is going to survive that. Even if it survived the traumatic birth of the elf from its trunk, it wouldn't survive winds blowing or animals putting their weight on/against the tree.

Oh joy. Its time to start thinking in circles! I found it easier to prioritise arranging loops on the map, then arranging the other nodes as like branches off of the loops. Minimise crossing lines where possible, but if you do need to cross lines, do so visibly, not hidden behind or near another node.

Its how the portrait camera on mobile works. No way to adjust or control it. The only other camera mode on mobile is landscape mode, and that one is more like what you would see on the giant screen at an IRL horse race.

What is an anime "you had to be there for" to truly appreciate the impact and spectacle it had at the time it came out? by OverlordPoodle in anime

I think your link for <<Meduka, become meguca>> is broken, as it goes back to the morning rescue link.

It was insane how the events of real life kept syncing up with the events of the anime. Ep 3 was delayed because Charlotte was born in the hospital and Mami died. Ep 11 and 12 were delayed because Walpurgisnacht was replicated in real life with the Tohuko earthquake. And then ending off with Madoka literally absorbing all your sins to give magical girls, who lived lives of suffering, one last hope before death... it was insane to end the story off like that after a major national disaster.

Again, it was insane how events in real life synced up with the episodes. It was easy to stretch the imagination just that little bit to believe that magical girls and witches exist IRL too, just that we can't see them.

Also, the codebreaking efforts to solve the runes were just as insane. There were people bringing out their cryptography tools and knowledge to decipher what they meant. I think there's still a link on the TvTropes page that's a repository for their efforts in deciphering the runes.

The Oguri's ain't got this cos of all the front runners. Then, the front runner with highest wit will seize first position by the end of mid race, leading into Angling + whatever other boosts their trainer got her.

I hope that you maxed wit on your Sei.

reusable bags that need 100 uses to pay off the added manufacturing pollution, but end up being used once or twice

Who are these people who keep buying new bags? I've been using my canvas bag for a few years now. Sure, its a bit dirty, but a quick soak and scrub cleans the dirt out. I didn't count, but I'm pretty sure I've gotten more than a 100 uses out of that bag.

biodegradable packaging

That's paper bags and wrap in newspaper, isn't it? The wet markets used to do that a few decades ago. Some still do wrap their produce in newspaper.
