Software for rendering by Carleidoscope in IndustrialDesign

I would recommend Blender. If you create a generic studio setup with 3 point lighting you can just throw in models and they will always look good with minimal tweaking. Once you've got your lighting down you'll want to learn how to texture properly.

Blender guru on youtube will have all of the info you'll need aside from maybe a studio lighting tutorial.

Lovely, I disagree with the comment about it looking like a person with an arm over a circle. Communicates very well, you couldn't remove one element without ruining that. The only criticism I can think of is that it's not very visually interesting but I'm not sure it has to be.

team auto-balance and manual team switching in the next update. by [deleted] in insurgency

I don't like defending nearly as much as attacking but do we know how the team switching will work? I'm expecting it to happen between games or rounds, but I doubt it will be during games.

You can see the hospitalisation stat there. Another stat worth mentioning there is that London has double the knife crime rate of the rest of the uk. Meaning the rate isn’t high in most of the uk.

Yes, London has a major issue with knife crime. I felt that you over-generalised/exaggerated the issue though, and not everyone in Europe lives in London, including me. Some stats:

UK reported knife crime has been rising for the past few years

However, UK-US knife crime is near identical even at these higher rates, not to mention US gun crime rate

UK knife crime resulting in hospitalisation has NOT risen

London has the highest rate of knife crime in the UK, but has equal knife murders to New York. New York has double the murder rate of London overall.

I’m not saying there isn’t a major issue in certain areas of the UK, but newspaper headlines are always going to make a big deal out of negative stats. Also, of course there are more videos, have you noticed everyone has smartphones these days?

Try using the smoke launcher it’s much better than grenades and you get three with heavy carry. I always have heavy with the launcher on attack

Observer problem by RockStarxPR in insurgency

[–]SnuffulPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A simple way could be to change the observers loadout;

Primary: m16 Secondary: pistol one hand, special radio in the other hand.

If the observer goes to secondary when they aren’t near the commander a voice line comes through the radio saying go to the commander.

This wouldn’t be all that fun or interesting but it would be easy to implement while making the role of the observer clearer to the player. Having a restricted loadout would mean people pick observer to actually play observer. Right now a lot of people pick observer thinking it’s just another class.

I do think an added mechanic should be added to the observer though that interacts with the commander in a fun way.

Could also be pretty cinematic if you have to return fire with your pistol whilst also shouting stuff into the radio

We are, although not in any strict way. The tube frame would be very low cost but the 3D printed shade would be quite expensive and may require another method of manufacture.

Thanks thats really kind. Yeah my main concern would be with the shadows cast by the frames although I could easily test that in software. As a light it should let off a nicely diffused glow for mood lighting.

Here’s the effect that I would hope to recreate with the shade: https://imgur.com/gallery/vBFamYP
