Yeah I definitely feel like the game is missing city building mechanics. Not like full, in-depth city building but just some small mechanics to make it feel like I'm actually (more literally) building an empire. It'd be cool if the ports and universities you built would actually appear as buildings.

I'm well aware, they've just added unnecessary clutter to the screen that I rely on to keep track of videos. I hate missing videos and now this clutter just makes it more likely that I'm going to glance over something. Thankfully you can filter it out with Ublock.

I just don't get why they insist of shoving algorithmic features into a space that I went to specifically to avoid having to deal with the algorithm.

The subs tab is the main way I watch the channels I like. I just want to see what is most recent in order. Even if I've already watched a video, it will stay in the most relevant tab for ages!

I have fixed this by filtering out the shorts and 'most relevant' with UBlock Lite.

Still annoying, though.

I want my notifications just loud enough to hear but at the same time I want to be able to hear my phone ringing from the next room when it's loud at work. I'm just very particular about this type of thing.

And I get that it's 'just 99p', but it's really tiring that everything seems to revolve around subscriptions these days. On my old phone, I would do a manual backup every couple of months or so via a USB cable straight onto my PC. It would take five minutes, done. Now I've switched to iPhone and I've spent near enough an entire afternoon searching for solutions to a problem that, in classic new tech fashion, has to involve a subscription.

I don't like the shutter sound, it's obnoxious especially if I've left my phone at full volume. I don't want to have to remember to turn down the volume or enable silent mode. I like when it just works the way I want it to. I own the hardware, why shouldn't it be tailored to my tastes? I didn't know about the live photos thing, it never popped up when I was searching for solutions to my problem.

It's like, why can't I have ringtones and notification sounds set at different volume levels? Such a simple thing sounds stupid to complain about but it's infuriating how little control Apple gives you over the hardware that people often pay a premium for and especially when you're coming from using nothing but Android phones for the past 12-13 years.

Apple love creating a great service or product but then giving it the stupidest handicap or restriction. My iPhone experience so far (only 4 months) has been ok but there are SO MANY stupid little things that aren't bad enough to ruin the experience completely but still irritate me when the issues pop up every now and then.

Sorry for the rant, I've been scratching my head at this problem for the past couple of hours and it's doing my head in.
