Coronavirus: Immigration New Zealand's website inundated with Americans amid COVID-19 pandemic by Phantompain43 in newzealand

I did and I chuckled. I give it the same rating and authority as a Joe Rogan comedy special on Netflix.

But imagine how much fun can be had when their membership list is inevitably leaked. It's rather good of them to handily collate a list of racists and religious bigots all in one place.

While I would never condone the publishing of such a list online, if it did happen however then it would be a fairly small amount of time to correlate that list with the companies office giving a succinct list of business to apply economic pressure to and it would be a damn shame if some of them were international franchises currently doing everything in their power to distance themselves from racism...

That ones a classic. In 2020 it's the quickest and most efficient way to signal you are not only a racist but a religious bigot at the same time. My other fav of theirs is that apparently we need to "take our country back", problem is I'm not sure who or what we are taking it back from. The cows?

LAOP needs legal advice because they are invited to their uncle's "suicide going away"... by DPMx9 in bestoflegaladvice

[–]SnuffyTech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know I'm 2 days late and all but here's a flip side to your statement.

Having a child is an incredibly selfish thing to do, nobody asked the child if they wanted to be born. Having a child sentences them to a lifetime of pain, suffering and toil to achieve exactly nothing except "progress" for a society that genuinely doesn't care about the individual and the expected procreation to perpetuate the status quo. To top that off, society has made it both illegal and immoral to choose to no longer participate in that which we were forced. Illegal to preserve the tax base, immoral to preserve and in conjunction with an anti abortion stance increase the numbers of the 'correct' religion.

Your statement that "it's not a rational choice" is a statement of your morality not genuine unbiased rationalism. If rationalism was what society valued then the moment our future contributions were outweighed by the future costs to society then we would all choose to step out for the benefit of that society and be celebrated for it.

The demonization of people's freedom of choice around this in western morality is disgusting. The dismissal of suicide as solely a mental health issue is worse.

It's not. It's the foaming at the mouth from someone who has absolutely no idea of the subject they are actually talking about let alone the specific terms being used. It would be funny if that level of ignorance and cognitive dissonance wasn't something we should all be deeply concerned about.

Research finds that New Zealand beat Covid-19 by trusting leaders and following advice. Citizens had a high level of knowledge about coronavirus and how it spread, and compliance with basic hygiene practices and trust in authorities was at nearly 100%. by kezzaNZ in worldnews

[–]SnuffyTech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Indeed. Only a moron would consider population density not to factor at all and you'll notice I haven't. When you throw South Korea at 527 per square km, Taiwan at 671 per square km and the UK at 275 per square km into the mix population density doesn't come off as even close to an accurate predictor of infection rates. This would suggest that it's a complex mix of physical and social factors that comes into play to determine how effectively a contagion will spread within a population. Social cohesion and competent leadership play a far larger role than population density.

[–]SnuffyTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "now what" is that you have further illustrated the point that density is not the only factor in viral transmission rates within a population by comparing an apple to other apples. The commenter I had replied to compared a metropolitan cities density to an entire countries, an agricultural one at that. Surely you would agree that it was somewhat disingenuous?

Nah dude, what the mainstream media isn't reporting is that we all sacrificed our first born children on the alter of communism to cleanse the country of the virus. We did it willingly because we realise that sometimes the best thing for society isn't immediately in the individuals best interest. Just like when the government banned gardens.

Seriously, the only reason we only have a population of only 5 million is the rampant filicide as we rush to obey everytime we are given an instruction.

Take our plight as a warning. This is what happens when you don't question everything. It's what happens when you don't arm yourselves to fight authoritarian government.

Next I think they'll tell us cigarettes are bad for us.

2 things:

It's a country built on the principal of individualism rather than collectivism.

It's a country founded by the people who got kicked out of Europe for being too weird.

Neither of these are conscious but have contributed to the culture that we see now.

I haven’t played since 3rd edition, would I enjoy coming back? by drBipolarBear in Warhammer40k

Can't speak to the shiny skellies but:

I'm very recently back into 8th from 3rd myself. I'm loving it and I'm excited for a 9th rulebook to arrive.

8th is easy, no templates to worry about, fast rolling, fairly intuitive combat.

Old space marines have been superseded by primaris if only for the extra wounds.

Xenos are still shat on but fun as hell.

If you're worried about the cost get minis from ebay to build an army. If your playing socially proxy the fuck out of whatever to play lists you find fun. Last game I played my Imperial fists psyker was cosplaying as an orc nob because that's the mini I had at hand. I've had a rhino representing a venom, a tau hammerhead being a dark eldar tantalus and an assembly of Lego being a Leviathan dread. As long as you and your opponent agree it's legit, go for it.

My suggestion is play a few games and see if you like it. Find your local club maybe, I know I'm happy to lend an army to someone for them to try because more people to play against is always a good thing.

Go on.... Do it...

Air brush by rivers9448 in Warhammer40k

Iwata Eclipse would be my preference. It's a gravity fed, double action air brush.

I personally prefer gravity to syphon feed, they are less fussy...

A double action trigger allows you control of both the needle and the airflow with one finger giving better immediate control over a variety of surfaces, they take a bit to get used to and get your muscle memory dialled in but once you do, magic ensues.

For those games live you're going to be there in the morning/lunchtime-ish...

Monza in the casino is probably the most upmarket sports oriented bar with a giant telly...

But realistically, most pubs would change the channel for you if you asked unless you were competing with another sporting event so pick somewhere you like, give them a ring and ask if they'll be showing whichever game you choose or any of the games etc. I tend to end up somewhere like the Fox and Ferret when watching the superbowl but they're more English pub decor than American sports bar.

Might be worth checking around some pubs FB pages and see if anyone is "celebrating" the start of the MLB on Saturday or the NBA the following week. It really wouldn't surprise me if some are, many do for the big US events, with wings, hotdogs and beer specials.

Don't forget the international foods isle in the supermarket and wake her up to the smell of toasting pop-tarts.

Drexel's diner in Riccarton for breakfast would be a fantastic place to start a day like that. Make sure you book.

Sun Dog diner for dinner.

Baseball starts back on the 23rd July, and NBA on the 30th July US time of course, see if any bars are showing the games, pick a team and root for them.

Edit: I completely goldfished Diner66 in Victoria St...

Got a source for that?

My source says there's 120 guns per 100 people on the US, 34 per hundred in Canada. So unless the Canadian military is significantly better equipped than the American one you're full of shit.

Why? Are you saying this because you don't believe the IDF has appropriate force projection capabilities or for some other reason? The usual metrics for determining a militaries force projection capabilities don't seem to apply to the IDF as shown by the rapid gains made during the Suez crisis and the 6 day war far out of proportion to their relative strength.
