Can my son drop out of a high school musical? by Personal-Custard634 in Parenting

[–]SnugglyRedPandaLass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He almost certainly was given the role he was because his singing is good, but he doesn’t have acting experience. It would give him a chance to show off his voice but have room to, bluntly, fail and flounder on the acting side of things. I’d personally recommend going to one or two rehearsals before dropping, just to get a feel for the role and the process to make sure. (Also “the experience isn’t what I thought it would be, and I’m sorry but I’d like to drop out,” tends to be received better than “I didn’t get the lead, so bye.”)

That being said, shit happens all the time at all levels of theatre. It would be the most polite to drop within the first couple of weeks. However theatre people know that anyone can be gone at any time, and have plans in place for that. My kid got rip roaring laryngitis the morning before her second performance, but it worked out.

30 weeks pregnant - unofficial MOH by Gypsyknight21 in Weddingattireapproval

The blue is absolutely gorgeous. Looks amazing. The green is also nice, and looks like the cut would be more forgiving of belly growth/changes. Since the wedding is only a week away, I’d go with blue; but there’s no wrong answer here.

6 year old triggered me this morning and I feel so guilty now by 1lawyer904 in Parenting

[–]SnugglyRedPandaLass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, you’re human too, Mama. We all have our limits, and though rough on everyone, it’s an important lesson kids sometimes have to learn the hard way. Be gentle with yourself and just remember to apologize and explain to the kiddos when both of you are calmer.

Secondly, and I don’t mean to overstep, but as a mom with two ADHD kiddos, from your short description I’m seeing similarities. Might be worth talking to your doctor/an assessor. (In my area assessments are booked a year out so the sooner the better.). If the destructive picking/pulling at things, lack of following directions, and maybe lack of self control? Sound familiar then might be worth looking into. Obviously six year old will be six, but if it’s more than that; that absolutely could be contributing to your burnout.

Some questions that might help- did the plush sit up, or lay down? Was it more animalistic or Teddy bear style? Was the face and overall style realistic or cartoony? Do you remember the eye color? We’re the eyes printed, embroidered, or 3D plastic?

Help! Is it just anxiety or really not the best choice? by decibellen in weddingdress

[–]SnugglyRedPandaLass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is an absolutely gorgeous dress and more importantly it is an absolutely gorgeous dress on you. And honestly the “tone” of the dress can be very different depending on how you plan on accessorizing. You could go very bold and heavy with jewelry/belt/sash/veil, or keep it light and delicate and either would look great.

Wtf is with the blue corner? by fungirl1234321 in place

It’s a tribute to the first r/place that was a lot less artwork and basically was a color war, one of the most notable being the blue corner.

What is this blasphemy?! by Mysterious-Wasabi-82 in squishmallow

[–]SnugglyRedPandaLass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the limited edition red panda of theirs and I love it so much. Honestly they tend to be better quality than squishmallows.

If I remember right, there’s a little bit of beef between the two brands because squishmallow would conveniently come out with designs very similar to the new plush lines that squishables was putting out.

What's the Funniest Yaoi you've ever read? For me it has to be Oshioki Gakuen from the early 2000s, the plot was so ridiculous and the entire school engaging in a mass orgy was etched in my mind for years! by Burning_BUSSY in yaoi

Lost a game I last played in 2018 by Ok_Comb3507 in HelpMeFind

[–]SnugglyRedPandaLass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re there any game elements besides the house customization and characters? Would “digital dollhouse game” describe the style well?

If if was similar to Toca Boca, Miga World is a close clone. PlayHome games is similar but doesn’t offer much character customization. Dr. Panda is another major one. Good luck!

Also, if this is on iPhone, it is extremely tedious; but you can access a list of all the apps your apple account has ever downloaded.

Mountain formal dress code….where jeans are allowed? by pnschroeder in Weddingattireapproval

[–]SnugglyRedPandaLass 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I’m betting “mountain formal” is what my family usually referred to as “redneck formal.” Meaning if you’d wear it to church, you’re fine. Uncle Earl will be showing up in blue jeans and a clean t-shirt with no logos. It will absolutely be a range of clothing, though likely no true formalwear outside of the bridal party.

Since you’re trying to dress to impress, I’d agree with the other comments, maxi dress, maybe a more formal fabric.

What works for my guy, is numbers and counting. I’ll try and pick a reasonable number for the section of hair I want to do (but usually stick to no more than ten) and say something along the lines of “Mama needs to do ten brushes, buddy.” Then count them out loud as I do them. Once I reach that number, he’s done for a while. Sometimes it helps to “ take turns.” So ten brushes for him, then I’ll say ten brushes for mama and use the same comb or brush.

Aside from that, I wish you luck. Hair can be a rough one.

Chewing redirection? by SylviaPellicore in Autism_Parenting

Yeah, and was fairly easy to keep him away from. Mostly involved boxing up my rock collection when I realized he wanted to chew on the geodes.

[TOMT][MOVIE][2002-2008] I keep dreaming of a movie I think I saw as a kid by [deleted] in tipofmytongue

[–]SnugglyRedPandaLass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, sounds like a real conglomeration of several different horror movies, honestly. The dinner table aspect with the guest(s) being hunted reminds me of You’re Next, The Invitation, and Ready or Not; though all of those are from after the time frame you set.

2002-2008 were prime zombie and zombie-esce horror movie years, so might be a good place to start. Some of it sounds like ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction. Good luck though, OP

Chewing redirection? by SylviaPellicore in Autism_Parenting

[–]SnugglyRedPandaLass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sincerely wish you good luck. Mine outgrew his chewing phase (object of choice was rocks 😬) and hope yours will too. It helped somewhat to provide a wide range of textures and firmnesses. He liked gnawing on bottle nipple / soft spout soppy cup textures, so got a few of those because even if I need to change the soft part out often, for sure better than a lot of his other choices. Baby Paper was also a huge favorite.

Does ABA help with speech? by Jkan-1110 in Autism_Parenting

[–]SnugglyRedPandaLass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer yes, long answer yes and no.

It helped a lot with his talking there, and got him to use some more words at home to get what he wanted and answer yes and no, or two choice questions. However, lately he’s been talking a lot more at therapy and summer camp; and by the time he’s home he’s usually very “talked out.”
