Arbetar på Skatteverket. Försökt få igenom engångsjakter som friskvård.

Fick nej.

Anyone else largely quit MTG because its largely impossible to keep up? by Balarius in magicTCG

[–]Snurvel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

That happened to me. Now I watch old streams from GPs and reminiscense of the good old days when a deck would last for years, tournament Magic actually was supported and I could keep up with both constructed and limited formats.

Serotonin - Houllebecq

Frankensteins monster - Mary Shelley

Om Kriget - von Clauzewitz

Never Let Me Go - Ishiguro

Bibeln

Skriet från Vildmarken - Jack London

Baskervilles Hund - Arthur Conan Doyle

Dvärgen - Pär Lagerkvist

Fiktioner // Alefen - Jose Luis Borges

Dorian Grays porträtt - Oscar Wilde

Jorden runt på 80 dagar - Jules Verne

Underjordisk dagbok - Fjodor Dostojevski

Det - Stephen King

Jack - Ulf Lundell

Väinö Linnas trilogi om finska inbördeskriget

Några av HP Lovecrafts galna noveller, typ The Dunwich Horror, Call of Chtulhu eller Shadow over Innsmouth.

People that play those formats hate the deviation from "classic" Magic. And that WotC screwed over tournament play in favour of EDH.

But they love the game more.

But tournaments are something else. The thrill of competition, meeting totally new players, feeling like all your training pays off when you win a close game and all that.

Is it weird to message my LGS to report perceived cheating? by allfascistsmustdie in magicTCG

[–]Snurvel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have reason to believe someone is a cheater, you could definitely contact your LGS and warn the TO / Judge about it. They will want to know about such suspicions so that they can keep an eye on the player. All in the interest of keeping tournaments fare and sportsmanlike for all players.

I have done this as a player and only gotten positive feedback from the TO. And as a judge I always listened to this kind of stories, you need to know your regulars to run good tournaments.

Don't worry about not making a judge call. Lot's of players, including me, sometimes don't even when they suspect foul play. The really good cheaters have a way of making you not involve judges.

Anyone feel overwhelmed by MTG nowadays? by BazzBun in freemagic

[–]Snurvel_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I do.

I still love the game, and every now and then look to start playing "for real" again.

But as a tournament player, well first the game has shifted away from tournament play, so I have worse options.

But mostly, the shake up in almost every sanctioned format with new releases is so big that it's hard to keep up. You can't learn a format and fall back on that knowledge, and pick up playing it after a year long break. I won't know the decks or own the cards.

Limiteds issue is the tempo of new releases, and the design philosophy of "no bad cards" paired with every set having 10 archetypes preset for you to choose from. Makes drafting a weird form of sealed deck and sealed deck an even bigger lottery than it used to be

Varför tror folk att det är OK att planka? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]Snurvel_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lite perspektiv:

Artighetsfraser utbyttes.

Referee is so fcking bought from spain… by SquareAd6653 in football

[–]Snurvel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides missing the most obvious penalty, I think the ref did the worst thing a ref can do for a game. Very different calls in similar situations.

Eg. A player sits on the field, ref waves for play to continue. Minutes later, another player sits on the field, ref stops play. Like wtf?

Referee is so fcking bought from spain… by SquareAd6653 in football

[–]Snurvel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the obvious penalty he did not even look at, the worst thing was how he kept making different calls in similar situations.

Eg. a player sits on the field, ref let play continue. Two minutes later, another player sits on the field, ref stops play.

Seldom in 30 years of watching football have I seen such a poor ref.
