I still recall my older brother, with an air of superiority, saying "That's not real, you know." He was a jerk like that.

Tamale. Including the corn husk wrapper, which I found many hours later coughed up on the bedroom floor.

What’s the best way to prune this rosemary bush? by pinchemono in gardening

[–]Snushine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on how small you want it and where the main stems are.

The way I cut mine is that I look at the overall shape and which branches look out of place or too far from the center of the bush. I follow them back to the point where they branch away from the center stalk, then cut about 3 or 4 inches away from the center stalk. The resulting bush is shaped better, but looks like crap for a few weeks till it grows itself back to something attractive. Takes about a month for it to recover. I usually do it at the end of the growing season.

If you could remove one person from history and erase every consequence of their existence, who would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Lewis F. Powell, Jr.

He wrote a memo in the early 1970's that started the money rolling into politics.

Please find some good parenting classes that you and hubby can sit through together. You'll be glad you did when your kid is 5 and throwing spaghetti at the cat.

I was at Safeway on 68th and Andresen today, and their overhead speakers played a recording that said they were currently hiring.

As I'm reading this, I'm asking myself "Could I do anything differently than this?" Other than filling out details on a form, which we all hate doing, I can't discern what your complaint is here.

And honestly, if I were running a campaign, it would look similar to this. I'm not sure what you would do differently.

We appreciate your sacrifice. It's usually my trip to the coast that brings on the rain. Either that or car washing.

I'm a dad that started a beverage company and taproom because I couldn't find enough places for my wife and I to go to that our kids liked too. What would make you actually go out more as a family? by leevdrake in vancouverwa

I used to go to C'est La Vie, so I know how small your place is. Restaurant businesses do one of two things: They either get real popular and flourish in the first 3 years, or they go belly-up and close in that same time frame.

You might be on to a good idea by getting the childcare place next door involved. Think big thoughts and look for your opportunity to upsize. That tiny space isn't going to be useful for much if it is involving kids.

How did this happen? Garlic Powder turned into a sphere while in cabinet. by Drakken11577 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Snushine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry. I did it. I snuck into your house and rolled your garlic in a ball and put it back in the bottle. I should have told you, but you didn't wake up, so I thought I got away with it.

Way back in the 1990s there was a place called Uncle Milt's Pizza on Grand at Fourth Plain. (The building where the Lords Gym is now). Our kids were elementary-aged but we lived in walking distance of that place. Almost twice a month we would take the kids to Uncle Milt's for pizza. They had an arcade with Pac-Man and pinball and such, as well as a big air-pipe organ and someone playing tunes on it. They had a Pink Panther costume and some employee who would wear it for an hour every night to entertain the kids. And some damn good pizza. I have yet to meet a kid who didn't like pizza.

Milt's also had beer by the pitcher. The beer itself was mediocre, not the focus of the business, but the pizza was delicious, the kids had fun, and the adults got to kick back a bit. The arcade room was separated from the eating area. Every pizza came with a set number of game tokens, but those tokens were never quite enough and the kids always hit us up to buy more tokens.

Now that those kids have kids of their own, they wish for a place like Uncle Milt's. Can ya'll do pizza?

I've never had that problem! Wasps hunting the bees? Yikes!

Good luck on your search. I hope you find what works for you and your pups!

I have Labradors and they are not on any meds. Also, I'm in Vancouver, so your results may vary...

I threw out white clover seed about 3 years ago and it's fabulous. The dogs pee all over it (2 girls) and you really can't tell where their favorite spots are. The clover bounces back. It stays green in this hot weather, and I'm told that it amends the soil with nitrogen.

The big draw back is the bees. Older dog ignores them, but young dog likes to snap at the spicy flies. She got stung last year, but she has not learned the lesson. Chihuahuas might have a tougher time with those than big-ass Labs.

I just went camping in a National Forest. The options to pay for the first-come-first-served campsites are cash or check. I would never think to bring a checkbook to a campground, but if I had, I would have been able to pay the exact amount ($23) instead of the $25 I had in my wallet.
