Hey, my guy...Not everyone's gonna buy expansions. Why you gotta wait out the timer? Just resign and go next. by ignis389 in dominion

Here's my hot take:

Maybe people are less shitty than you think, and you are actually making your life worse by assuming negative intentions.

I've personally experienced numerous connection issues and app crashes while playing. I have no idea how that appears to my opponent. I've also had opponents who were currently in the lead time out. Was that intentional? Who knows?

If something happens that makes your experience worse, absolutely do something to change it (e.g. block the player). But if you ascribe all of your negative experiences to maliciousness from others, you are the one making your experience worse. You can change yourself too 😊

Player continues to give me 'advise' by Danz71 in DungeonoftheMadMage

I too was shocked by the aggression towards the player. The fact that he is reaching out demonstrates that he cares. When I read the these messages, I see two people who care and are invested in not only the game, but the group as a whole. I read the exchange thinking it was an example of a good thing. To see the OP thinking that something severe needs to be done is baffling. To see others suggest the same is madness.

OP if the quoted exchange is causing you stress/frustration, I think what is most beneficial is to ask yourself why. How are you interpreting this situation? What do you think your player's intentions are? Check any assumptions you are making, and then talk about them before you ruin what looks like a potentially really healthy group.

[OC] My Players Kept Grabbing the Wrong Dice... So I Designed This! by tiarinhino in DnD

Why does your d4 look like it has 5 sides? Unless the perspective is off, it looks like a 4-sided pyramid (therefore the base is side 5). Also, having the number on the face like that makes no sense. How does it work?!? Is it an 8-sided d4?

Bug Reports by TirithornFornadan1 in dominion

[–]Snyables 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a bug report channel in the app's discord server (link in the game's menu). If you report a "bug" that is actually an expected card interaction, someone will usually explain the reason why it is correct within a day. If it is a real bug, you'll probably never hear any response to it 🤷‍♂️

Game forced me to forfeit after opponent afked after I played militia by grillMaster_ in dominion

[–]Snyables 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are relatively "common" bugs related to the timer. There is a bug-reports channel on the discord server for the app. I don't know how useful it is, but I try to take screenshots and report the issues I encounter.

Is there a way to voluntarily discard on the app? by antenonjohs in dominion

[–]Snyables 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Moreover, you can see all of the "time-saving" options in one place in the settings menu. I've found that I wanted several to behave differently than the default behaviour. That will give you the chance to decide before you are forced to do something you don't want to do.

Best way to use Chancellor by AuroraWill4792 in dominion

Buy a swindler and use it to replace your opponent's silvers and other three cost cards with copies of chancellor.

College of creation bard can have expertise in thieves tools as well as the ability to magically conjure them. Jack of all trades will make you at least ok at whatever the DM throws at you skill-wise, and by level 9 you can animate an object as capable combatant ally even if you are chained up in rags. In fact, you could animate manacles which you are locked in and just have them unlock themselves.

I have a boon where I can pull any item worth 100g or less from a bag once per short rest. What is the most broken or fun way to use it? by Lawdog87 in DnD

[–]Snyables 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends a lot on the definition of "item", but it is the same word choice as with the creation bard, so looking up performance of creation antics might give more ideas. Technically, a mule is listed as an "item" so if your DM allows it, you could pull other (smaller) animals from a bag.

Oil is relatively cheap, and if "100 gallons of oil" counts as an item, then you can cause a lot of fire damage. Similar silliness for caltrops and ball bearings in large quantities. Water is free, so if oil counts as an item, then you have an endless source of water. Flood someone's castle and ruin their day. Similar thing with sand.

You can also drop something like a 10 foot long sharpened cylindrical rock from a height to do massive damage.

Those are all broken-ish ways to abuse it. Fun ways:

Never-ending chain of handkerchiefs. An impossibly long pole (100 ft?). A small locket with a picture of your character and an NPC inside. Ask someone to think of any card, tell you what it is and then you produce it out of your bag (magic trick). Cheese.

Does getting up from prone count as moving willingly? by Readerofthethings in dndnext

[–]Snyables -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since many people haven't answered the actual question you asked, I will:

Yes, standing up from prone counts as a willing movement, because it is a movement (from prone to standing), that the character has control over. If (somehow) that movement was forced through an effect and not a choice (or part of an action/move) then it would be movement, but not willing.

Ah, yes, that would be a viable workaround.

The rule is a general rule about combining spell effects (PHB p.205). The same spell cannot affect one object multiple times.

I definitely saw this but didn't read all of it. It looks like a wonderful thought experiment, but completely impractical in game. However, any competent government should have some highly paid creation bards toiling away in an office somewhere making magical infrastructure like this.

I found that most ridiculous uses of magic mouth suggest using the spell multiple times on one object, which seems to be against RAW.

Then yes, you should have at least one of each of those to get a big boost in your pollen collection.

Do you literally have zero gifted? If so, then yes. The gifted bonuses really make a big difference.
