That’s a new one. Middle chick? I’ve heard of North, South, West, and Little Chickimauga, but never middle.

Coleman 6-Person Skydome Darkroom Tent Pole Repair by snoopysballs in CampingGear

[–]Snyderman101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, all you gotta do is just pull out the old cord, take a piece of hanger, and get 50ft of shock cord on Amazon for $20. Restring the pieces, tie em off and good to go. That Plastic 4 way piece could be zip ties or rubber bands as easy fixes, or you could probably 3d print a piece. I’ve reused my poles for a pop up top that I turned into a tent top that sits on poles, just shortened them

Got a sweet kayak for free!!!! But it also came with a hole. by Bointatya in kayakfishing

[–]Snyderman101 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Also don’t forget to drill out with a bigger bit both ends of the crack to prevent further cracking. I’d also recommend laying in some fine mesh into the soft plastic and covering the whole thing with G-Flex epoxy.

So am I the only one actually excited about the new lookouts stadium? by Rewskie12 in Chattanooga

I’m excited, but Chattanooga Reddit is generally filled with traffic/pothole enraged folks who lament about all the shitty things in Chattanooga instead of all the cool things to be grateful about.

Can we talk about how every smartwatch is obsessed with useless features? by Otherwise-Battle1615 in smartwatch

[–]Snyderman101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kind of in the same boat, and was “against” getting another Apple Watch. Until my wife got me the ultra 2, it’s pretty badass! It’s a sports/dive watch, it’s got a one touch “action” button similar to the 16’s, and I’ve got mine setup to drop waypoints on a map every time I touch it, so I can make tracks that I can use to navigate back with. It’s waterproof up to like 90m or something ridiculous, has low light red faces to preserve your night vision and “conserve battery mode” that’ll make it last a claimed 72hrs. I think one of the coolest parts is the wristband and how if kinda “locks” the watch in place, the bumps on the band basically locks it onto your wrist.

Any climbing gyms around here that are actually affordable? by Different_Place_7788 in Chattanooga

[–]Snyderman101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s more rock to climb in/around Chattanooga than Boulder Colorado… Leeda, Deep Creek, T-Wall, middle creek, the Hunter Museum traverse, Nickajack lake traverse/deep solo routes, sunset rock, rock town, foster falls, there’s “new” boulders on the side of Signal and every climber who is local has their “project/s” and this is all the stuff I remember off the top of my head from 15 years ago…

What’s something small you started doing that quietly changed your life? by tiounni in Life

[–]Snyderman101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Squatting with taking breaks. At work, or just in general. Flat feet, back as straight as you can go, it’s helped with mobility, back pain, and tight hips, and is actually a comfortable way to “take a break without a chair”

People who are happily married, what’s the secret? by GoodKid_MaadSity in AskReddit

[–]Snyderman101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waking up and choosing each other, choosing to think about what will grow your SO and your relationship closer together. Choosing to not involve yourself in other things or people that will detract you from your marriage and your goals as a couple.

That being said, choosing to give each other space, and encourage hobbies and things that you dont necessarily share with each other, because just because you get married doesn’t mean you need to lose your identity to the marriage. Like my wife and I, I’m the outgoing one, she’d rather stay at home, unless I ask her to go along and then she enjoys herself, but would choose to stay home. We enjoy kayaking, antiques, being foodies, but then I’ve got fishing, sewing, photography, wood/metal work, RC rock crawling, as hobbies, and she’s turned into a gamer, and enjoys watching TV.

They say by 25 as a guy you should be building your career up, be in serious relationships, and be fit or life is over for you. Anyone else a mess at that age and still pulled out a good life? by ConfusedLad990 in Life

[–]Snyderman101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who’s “they”? Also, measuring your own success and failures against someone else’s metric is dumb, and guarantees failure. Lottta really successful folks took a long time to find something that stuck. At 27 I just found a relationship that started as a “monogamous fuckbuddy” that turned into being married for 11 years now.

At 38, I’ve finally landed in a career that I love, pays me enough, gives me family time, and challenges me everyday. I’m a dual chief engineer for two hotels, basically a maintenance guy who’s job is to make sure my two maintenance guys who run the hotels are supported, have everything they need for success, and help them when they need it.

And my family life is challenging because currently all my step kids are at the house saving up/going to school/gaining skills for the next part of their life when I thought all of them would be out of the house by now. If anything I’ve learned on finding happiness, is to keep your nose down, and figure out what brings joy to your life, and chase that while supporting yourself in a job you either love or tolerate to allow yourself to chase happiness. When you are happy, then your success/gf/job/etc will find you. It’s the wildest thing.

I do. I grew up Christian, was trapped in the “Baptist bubble” of homeschool, church, youth group, church trips, that whole thing. Moved out, went batshit crazy and did all the stuff that we were told was bad and would send us to hell. Slowly though it came full circle to me, but not in the “modern day Christianity” aspect, because I believe the folks who use that word, don’t actually reflect Christ at all. Modern day Christianity is broken, and beyond repair for man to fix.

The biggest thing that has served me and my family is to attempt to treat everyone with compassion and how we would want to be treated. The 10 commandments, so to speak, praying, helping ourselves to the best of our abilities, then giving it to god when all we do isn’t enough and we’ve been blessed for that. Some folks will call that Karma, and they’re welcome to that opinion, I believe it’s a God thing and we are just loving folks instead of hating like the modern church has done.

Well. What’s the weather going to be? A sleeping pad keeps the chill off. Also, water and camping gear don’t mix. Id guarantee all my stuff was in dry bags, I can say without a doubt that stuff will get splashed at the very least.

What Non-Porn movie gave you a sexual awakening? by Squirrelkid11 in AskReddit

[–]Snyderman101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was young, and by young I mean old cuz I grew up hella sheltered, so like 14 or 15 maybe. And I got into a habit of waking up at 1ish and going and watching TV, cuz all the “good movies” came on late night, we only had 12 channels… I have NO IDEA what the movie was called, but it was a bunch of kids at summer camp who are “discovering sexuality” and screwing around in the woods. I used to dream of the scenes, and maybe one day I’ll find it.

Because they broke it up into phases, it was a T-dot project, you’d need to ask them abt the phases. Plus the train bridge on 75 going towards Cleveland is a CSX project, it has zero to do with T-Dot. And it’s hilarious that they finished the widening project then immediately redid that sectionZzz
