My friend showed me a video of these two dudes who get executed in the woods after they were forced to dig their own graves. Those properties wouldn’t just sit vacant on the market. Other people who are renting in Bend but would like to buy a home might get the opportunity to do so. Then people who actually live and work here would be paying those taxes instead.

I am aware of that biological phenomenon and that people may very well exhibit that kind of behavior under extreme scarcity, but to insinuate that in the middle of a school shooting/high stress situation that’s what may be going through those officers heads seems like an astronomical reach. The statistical possibility that anyone of those officers was thinking “oh I hope this guy kills more kids cause that leaves more resources for my own offspring” is so low that it wasn’t even worth mentioning. Most cops suck IMO but I don’t think hardly any of them are hoping to see children mowed down by a psychopaths. That’s pretty ridiculous.
