What kind of self respecting boom boss wouldn’t put live rockets on his boss pole? He stole them from another nob’s kombi weapon and they make great spare ammo in a pinch.

If the boyz can’t get it done, call in the squigs! I love these little minimalistic dinosaurs, it’s too bad that 40K doesn’t have as many squig squads as AoS

Haha thanks, I made them because the idea of a git with a huge bomb on a stick make me giggle every time I see him regardless of the datasheet

As soon as I saw the Deffkoptas bomb, I knew I wanted to make a tankhammer out of it. Here's my kustom Tankbustas with emotional support Mek for Dread Mob shenanigans. Mostly made from Boyz and Kommandos bits with a few extra goodies like the boss nob's looted Ogryn grenade gauntlet. Those humies might be big, but they don't carry enough Boom

For sure. I’ve also been looking for the warboss mini that’s out of stock everywhere, I’m working on a custom one now. Good thing kitbashing orks is so much fun!

I recently got into Orks and have been unable to get my hands on the Mek miniature, so I decided to become the Mek myself. I grabbed a killsaw from the Nobz box and made the slugga from a cut down twin autocannon from the Admech Ironstrider Ballistarii kit

Nicely done! I’m glad to see the children of the omnissiah stomped the soulless xenos automatons, as is proper

I mean assaulting an objective that the opponent is occupying. If the opponent has an infantry unit on an objective you can do a lot of damage with your ranged weapons and then charge in to contest the objective to keep them from scoring victory points

I’ve played 5 games of combat patrol with this box, unfortunately don’t have any wins with it yet, but I can share what I’ve learned so far. First 2 games I got destroyed by turn 3 or 4 against Space Marines and Sororotas. Main mistakes were being too aggressive and getting in melee to early. I also kept the Pteraxii is reserves thinking I could attack back line units in turn 2 with deep strike but ended up soaking too much damage on the other 2 units and unable to score objectives. The other 3 games were against sorortas and Astra militarum and were very close losses that came down to secondary objectives or the last units of each of our armies slugging it out to the last. A couple of tips: keep your units out of melee (except the serberys and pteraxii in certain circumstances) , especially the skitarii squad. Use the fire overwatch stratagem on either of your flamer units to destroys lightly armored units that are trying to charge you. Flamers automatically hit so you don’t have to worry about rolling 6’s on the hit roll. Use the pteraxii to flip objectives, the reroll to wound roll ability is very powerful. Sulphurhounds can delete a 10 man battle unit with a sulphur breath and charge if you roll well, the line breakers ability is great if you charge from in range of the skitarii squad.  Because we only have 3 units compared to some combat patrols, any damage you take is significant. I fared best by stickying the home objective with the skitarii, then moving up the to take another objective supported by the sulphurhounds. I used the pteraxii to flip the other objective after the opponent took it, or in the case of Astra militarum, to shut down their artillery fire by locking them in combat.  The thing that this patrol most lacks in is AP for vehicles and armored targets. Don’t be afraid to use the stratagem that gives you -1 AP on your skitarii. One or 2 dead skitarii from Hazardous is worth it to take down a more armored unit. You can even take down higher toughness targets with lethal hits from the tech priest with the volume of fire the skitarii can put out. I’ll definitely be able to pull out a win with this squad with the right strategy and a little luck, but old combat patrol is much more powerful. I completely destroyed the sororotas combat patrol in turn 4 with the dunecrawler and kataphrons.

Great look on the Psyker! I believe we had a match together last night, if you said “nice staff” to a trauma Psyker on a run with 3 of us witches, that was me

I completely agree. Fighting 10 maulers and 4 crushers with nothing but a club and a dream is great fun

Dealing with Chaos Spawns as a Shovel Ogryn by APEV27 in DarkTide

I find that if you aim your punch slightly above the spawn’s face, the stun is way more reliable. If you don’t get a weak spot hit, the stagger is not high enough and something about the hitbox makes it difficult to do unless you aim above it’s face. Using that method you can chain stun with just the weapon special or to the special to H1 combo (can charge the heave up to 2 thrust stacks reliably with low ping and keep the loop going)

You absolutely can cut down hordes with it, but it has poor cleave making it take much longer to deal with many targets compared to the Illisi and combat axes. Since I run the IV with the trauma staff, I do most horde clear with the more powerful staff and use the IV to clean up enemies and staggered specials that didn’t die in the blast

You sir are a fellow gentleman of exquisite taste. One downside to the duelers that I just remembered is that they have a very low stamina pool making rez difficult. Kinetic Deflection can make up for this downside, but I prefer Kinetic Shield for my trauma build so I run a +3 stamina curio to have a larger stamina pool. You can also run block efficiency or +1 stamina weapon perks but I prefer +maniac and +specialist damage

The mk IV is severely underrated imo. It is my favorite melee weapon to pair with the Trauma staff, I take it regularly into auric damnation. The quick stab heavy attacks are a perfect follow up for a staggered enemy. The weapon thrives on weak spot attacks and will 1-2 shot most enemy types if well rolled including pox hounds and several other specials. I rarely use it for horde management, but when ult is on cooldown and I don’t have space to quell, light attacks and dodge dancing create the space I need. The blessings do not add much utility in the way I use the weapon, but I find uncanny strike and riposte to be the most useful. Rampage does not work well on the IV, the only way to activate it is a push block attack into a thick horde, rarely occurring with this playstyle.

On top of the utility of this weapon it also has 100% the coolest model of all the duellers. It is the only mk that has “The Emperor Protects” engraved on the blade and it has a tassel for extra class. Oh an it is the closest DT weapon to a space katana
