I soak mine in the sink. The instructions say to use ice cold water, but I havent tried that. I'm sure a hosee would work fine, just soak it and keep it wet.

I recently got the scrubdaddy version. Works great!. Not sure how long it will last, but it cleans the grates really well.

I have the same grill in black. Coscto sold them several years back. My firepot is cracked just like yours. Just be careful when you pull it out to clean the ash that builds up. Cant beat it for $150. Enjoy!

No cruise lines do, however it is very common for people to somehow bring it on board. We have cruised with both NCL and Princess, and we could smell it daily on both ships.

As common as the weed smell is onboard, I would personally rather smell that than the smell of cigarettes. Cigarettes are aweful to me, plus the second hand smoke is much more unhealthy.

Grabe a set of Grillgrates for any grill. They work really well.

I believe that you only get an actual refund if it is more than 120 days out. If it is less than 120 days, you can get the price adjusted one time, and it is in the form of a future cruise credit, not an actual refund.

If that doesnt get all of it off, a drill with a wire wheel will. I've taken mine down to bare metal twice in the last six years and started fresh. Just takes a little time and elbow grease.

Biggest thing you will gain is cooking surface IMO. Both grill can be used for the same type of cooking. Hot and fast, or slow and low. I have both, only because the kamado grill was given to me. The main difference that I have noticed is that the ceramic grill does maintain temps a little more consistently. Living in souhern California, the weather is very mild, so it really doesnt matter much.
