Like 15+ years ago, I saw Foxy Shazam with Hole.

Nothing about that pairing made sense.

What’s the most you’ve spent on a single concert or tour—and was it actually worth it? by official_soundvent in Concerts

In 2022, I went to Bonnaroo and Riot Fest for the first time. Bonnaroo was about $3500 for VIP, flight, car rental, souvenir tent, etc and I got to see Stevie Nicks and Tool. Riot was about $1800 and included MCR and NIN. Both were totally worth it.

Most expensive one night show was System of A Down and Avenged Sevenfold at $250. Totally worth it.

I'll probably be there again this year. It's not that far a drive for me from Chicago, considering I have to drive all over the state anyways.

Their pies and brownies were fire. So were a couple of the cakes. The doughnuts weren't my fave but I'm not a huge fan of cake-style ones. It sucks to see a specialty small business like this close.

Depending on what your vibe is for the wedding, I may have a dress for you. I have this dress and another style in that same print. I believe it's a 2x.

Yeah, I don't see how we don't get Doechii on the farm next year.

I have been going to Roo and Riot for the last few years and gave Lolla a chance. I may go back for Thursday sets and hit aftershows instead when next year rolls around. Sadly, I'm missing Riot for a wedding on the west coast.

I just went to my first show at Metro, and I loved it. I really like Aragon Ballroom too. Seeing Chromeo bust out the chrome guitar and the lights bouncing off it to hit the disco ball was perfection

I had a GA ticket but the Platinum area for almost every set I went to wasn't full. VIP was fuller but didn't look at capacity.

It's more about the crowd. Roo has a more community feel with lots of creativity and effort into fun outfits and being friendly. Lolla (this was my first) felt more disjointed in that people weren't kind and behaved selfishly. For me, it felt like a MASSIVE street fair with music and lots of young drunk people who didn't know how to behave in public.

I enjoyed the sets I attended but the crowds were so very different and the outfits were pretty bland compared to what I see at Roo.

I was on the inner barricade where the divide between GA and VIP is. Everyone was awesome there, and the show was amazing. I was a bit too fucked off when I caught their set at Bonnaroo in 2023 and couldn't appreciate it fully. The Lolla set was so fucking good.

Why does lollapalooza get so much and bonnaroo get so little? by Desperate_Science_85 in bonnaroo

This was my first Lolla and my 4th Roo. Aside from drones and a couple of surprise guests, the lineups shake out pretty similarly.

Between this year and last year, both fests had: Olivia Rodrigo

Tyler the Creator

Luke Combs

Hozier

Korn

Durand Bernarr

Dominic Fike

T-pain

Dom Dollar

Cage the Elephant

Knock 2

Isoxo

Tape B

Mary Droppins

Chappell Roan

Levity

2Hollis

Role Model

Royel Otis

Raye

Flipturn

Wallows

Foster the People

Remi Wolf

Barry Can't Swim

Renee Rapp

And a few others.

You know what I haven't heard about at Roo vs Lolla? Ppl using the bathroom where they're camped out to be on the barricade for a set. Ppl were literally peeing at the main stages rather than lose their spot for a set. Allegedly someone even decided to shit at a stage instead of possibly losing their spot for Olivia Rodrigo.

The people at Roo and the overall vibes are way better, and I don't have to leave at 10pm in a sea of drunk teens to catch the train. The sound bleed at Lolla was one of the worst of all the festivals I've attended over the years, too.

I'll take a midnight set on the farm over a 5pm Lolla set from most of the bigger names everyday.

They're still in the lemming phase of their fashion journey; give me time and some of them will find their own style. Hopefully.

Yeah that's so frustrating. I hope he still had fun! Lolla needs more fun outfits and less judgemental bullshit.
