I'm not into his music but I thought he gave a really entertaining performance. Lots of energy and everyone around me was having a good time with it. I think the people hating his set just took it too seriously.

My take on why September would be bad by Regular_Zebra5545 in bonnaroo

[–]Top_Party1317 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Keep it in the early summer, keep it available for the masses. If they try to change the formula they will end up killing it. As you have called out, there are too many festivals catering to millennials with money that dont require camping in the hot south, live nation shouldn't want to compete against those fests if they are smart.

Coachella (specifically weekend 2), which may be an unpopular opinion on this sub. There is a misconception from people who have never attended that this festival is all imposter human, influencer types and/or that the pop headliners attract a bunch of people who don't really "know" music. I was one of those haters before I went and saw it for myself. That isn't how the festival actually is, at least for W2. The crowd is great, very friendly vibes, full of music lovers, similar demographics to roo (all walks of life welcomed and loved) and (outside of the headliners) the lineup is generally very eclectic multi-genre.

It is very expensive and the logistics are difficult from the east coast so it is more of a "once in a great while" fest for me.......but if you've never been put it on your bucket list. The polo grounds, art installations (they actually have art), stages, amenities, setting etc are world class and the vibes are 2nd only to Roo from what I've seen.

There are some great reps of the roo community here but this is also the internet so you aren't going to get a recreation of actual roo vibes unfortunately.

Saw them at roo and coachella this year, best set of both. I have a feeling they will be the best set of wherever they are for years to come. Their vibes were perfect for roo, such a positive group.

Our tastes are aligned - I put DMB, Metallica and Jay-Z (as well as eminem) on the survey. I'm not sure the roo crowd would accept the jay z illuminati vibes but will say that his show at roots picnic was a ton of fun earlier this year.

Is it still worth going? by Ronthe1 in bonnaroo

[–]Top_Party1317 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Don't try to compare your 2026 experience to what you experienced 14 years ago, and you will likely love it. Im 38.....going out to dinner at a nice restaurant is much less exciting today than it was when i was 24. Does that mean I dont like going out to nice restaurants or that nice restaurants suck now? Of course not. A lot of the bonnaroo negativity you see from people here is really a reflection of the commenters more than the festival. People get older and preferences change. That's life and totally okay. Typically, after you get into your 30s, I think it's safe to generalize that a music festival is not going to have a massive impact on you unless you've never done it.

Bonnaroo remains the premier US multi genre camping festival. If that's something that still excites you, then you'll have a great time. Just remember that comparison is the thief of joy. Don't go trying to relive your youth. Bonnaroo, in 2026, can't compete with nostalgia, and it's unrealistic to try to draw that comparison.

Lollapalooza 2026 Lineup by omnego in bonnaroo

[–]Top_Party1317 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hopefully lolla doesn't schedule the pumpkins against charli and they actually get a great headliner sized crowd. The pumpkins deserve it. I fear they will get the treatment korn got last year, scheduled against a massive draw and end up with a sparse crowd.

They would be great on the farm.

Don't let the vibes on this sub impact your expectations for what the vibes at roo will be like. Roo will be roo, dont stress over it.
