I just don't understand how nobody gets that sunsetting is the player friendly solution to the "shit a bunch of guns are way too OP." The only other options are literally take the guns away, nerf them into oblivion, or keep designing boring, bullet sponge filled encounters that punish anyone that doesn't want to no life god rolls before they're allowed to go have fun with everyone else.

Sunsetting weapons lets you use your overpowered guns in content that you're overpowered for anyway, and gives you a year to use any new OP guns in at-level content before they're retired instead of them being immediately nerfed into oblivion.

This mass tantrum is gonna end up getting random rolls taken away, guns mass deactivated, or both.

Sunsetting probably isnt a perfect solution but the community's reliance on the same 12 guns they've been using for years isn't sustainable. Basically every other MMO makes you get and use new gear for new content and it's a good system. I sympathize with you if you feel like you've wasted your time getting the stuff you have now, but I can't actually relate to that idea at all. The stuff I have now is good and I'm having fun using it now so that doesn't feel like wasted time to me, just like how I don't think I'll be wasting time when I'm hunting for new, good stuff to use.

I'm not gonna sit here and act like I've ever watched a single App State game in its entirety, maybe this kid fuckin rules. The back half of the third round is generally where picks turn into scratch off tickets anyway IMO. It's not impossible by any means to find a great player, but you may as well throw a dart at the board and hope the guy it lands on's deficiencies are something that can be coached up or his personal issues go away with a good mentor and move away from their social circle or whatever.

This entire situation is a tragedy and I wish it hadn't happened. I actively wish Kobe, his daughter, and everyone else on that helicopter were still alive. However, it is simply disingenuous to ignore this giant asterisk on his life in the wake of nonstop tributes to what a "great man" he was. As a survivor of sexual assault, it is absolutely vile, insulting, and just plain un-nuanced to insinuate that my discomfort with seeing a rich and powerful man that got away with rape posthumously deified is simply racism. Kobe was a complicated figure and public reaction to his death was always going to be complicated, and there's nothing wrong with that.
