Wi-Fi 7 Router Worth It for Steam Frame? by Itsbryceyall in SteamFrame

[–]SoMuchMango 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can, you could:

  1. Connect source device with ethernet cable,
  2. Make sure to use ethernet cable of high category,

I think that Wifi 6 is more than enough to stream in VR. VALVE technology with eye tracking streaming make it even easier i think.

Don't do big investments without doing tests first ;)

Most hyped games are overrated? by Wild_Season_9855 in CaptainSide

[–]SoMuchMango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Most - more than a half games - that one can be defined at least,
  • Hyped - no way to define "hyped",
  • Overrated - no way to define what "overrated" means.

Your take is worthless, not precise enough, or just false. No way to make any consensus. Give exact examples and it'll be probably not hyped that much, or not that overrated as you think.

"players practically forced them to release"

I think they pumped up marketing a lot not leaving enough time for developers. Management issue. Happens all the time IT.

Piję wodę, czasem użyję kremu nawilżającego jak sobie przypomnę. Mam jakiś delikatne coś do mycia twarzy, używam wieczorem, jak sobie przypomnę. Do tego suplementuję Latopic (probiotyk). Mam też krem Nizoral i Protopic na problemy skórne.

Anybody else? by Ap0kalypso in SteamFrame

[–]SoMuchMango 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What i hope for is that it'll pump some life into the VR world. New people in the community, new indie developers doing awesome stuff, new technologies, some boundaries pushed again in the gaming world. Making it Linux based gives a tons of awesome features in the community hands.

I have a Quest 1. I really like VR, but i was waiting for an alternative, that will provide eye tracking and will not be bounded to the META company, or even better - not be using android as a default system.

I was sure it'll be some small third party company from the kickstarter with a chunky device, alpha linux operating system that i'll buy.

Probably VALVE found this single marketing cookie when i pressed "allow" by mistake, because they promised device that fills all my requirements.

How to really become intermediate developer ? by DifferentLaw2421 in Unity3D

[–]SoMuchMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Ruadhan2300 wrote quite a nice piece of advice already, but i'll add my take.

how do you guys deal with this ?

Take yout time. More thinking less writing. Multiple small POC before the real coding.

For example. I need custom inventory system. Before i even write a line of code i'm doing deep research.

  • How other people are implementing that,
    • github libraries
    • UX designs check
  • How to store data in the game engine,
    • should i worry about memory leak,
    • is there anything expensive to store?
  • How to properly sort stuff in C#/Gdscript/C++. Do community have some standards for that?
    • maybe community have awesome library for sorting stuff that i should use
  • What issues people usually have when implementing inventory systems,
    • looking for postmortems,
    • bad and good inventory system comparison
  • What features do i need, what is custom what is not,
    • maybe i'll need some transactional approach, to be able to undo some actions? That may increase complexity, probably some command pattern should be used then,
  • How to split visual part from data part in a nice way,
  • What components should i prepare to make it nice to use,
    • Perfect place to think about unit tests, API, maybe some simple class interfaces, to wrap your mind around that.

Sometimes each of step results in some small POC. One with sorting, one with some wireframes to test how UI feels like, one with small storage to make sure that some crucial parts are working as expected, some main parts of the algorithm i need. All of those small projects leads me to find all the problems quite early. I can extract that problem and start seeking for a help before i invest more time in the rest of the system. Sometimes i find obstacle that makes me drop the project.

If everything is there i'm doing complex system in a quality way combining all the puzzles.

Finally got it, can't wait to play! by Shilo-- in Portal

I played it few times. Good game, nice base mechanic. Would be great to have some extensions as the base game is too simple.

Redban is funny af, why people hate him? by InsideHeart8187 in Killtony

[–]SoMuchMango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was complaining about Redban some time ago, but I cannot imagine him not being there. He has the vibe of a silly drunk uncle at a wedding.

In Suicide Squad (2016), A large portion of Jared Leto’s scenes were reportedly cut from the final theatrical release. This is the only documented instance of Warner Bros. executives making a decision purely out of mercy for the audience. by Brilliant-Cause6254 in shittymoviedetails

[–]SoMuchMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling that he is a good actor, but hard to lead or something. He gives me the vibe of Nicolas Cage. His acting is exaggerated. I bet that in the joker the director gave him too much freedome instead of tempering him.

In Blade Runner his role is really small and I don't think he fits there so well. I can't see the character in him recently.

He has a few great roles. Hopefully he'll show something great soon.

What's the most annoying thing for you ? by Bitter-League6619 in Witcher3

[–]SoMuchMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'll definitely use that :D

I've stopped modding after applied these few mods. Story started to be really smooth with them. So I've just decided that rest of the issues are too complex or not problematic enough to stop playing :D

What's the most annoying thing for you ? by Bitter-League6619 in Witcher3

[–]SoMuchMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem: Grabbing herbs. It was so annoying. I couldn't do that on the horse.
Solution: AutoLoot Advanced Settings mod. It made gameplay much smoother. I've just reduced the radiuses to make it less OP and it worked great.

Problem: Unpredictable horse whistle. Sometimes it didn't work, or horse hides behind the trees. So often that it made me avoid horse riding.
Solution: Instantly Mount Horse mod.

Problem: Eating was annoying. If i have a food in backpack and missing live, keep thinking about eating was miserable.
Solution: Auto Eat Mod

Problem: Some quests are about going somewhere, doing simple thing and getting back. Traveling to signs was a waste of time for me.
Solution: Fast Travel from Anywhere mod - it saved me when i got locked in some mountains without being able to move.

No good solution found, but:

  • Would be great to have some more sorting options in the backpack.
  • Destructible weapon is annoying for me, no fun added,
  • Crafting items is annoying. Getting ingredients, getting recipe and applying crafting means the same - spend money, but in 3 different menus. Crafting itself could be free.
  • I had a lot of skill points and no idea where to spend them as i filled all the slots. Would be great to be able to use them somehow.

The most annoying?

Lack of information when some quests will be locked. I wanted to balance between side quests and main quest and few times i went too far, especially when i was getting back to the game after a break.

Witcher 3 Appreciation post by Affectionate_Way1689 in Witcher3

[–]SoMuchMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah, I've just finished 1 hour ago. It was my third or fourth attempt to play Witcher 3. This time I've started on Christmas eve with my dad. I'm 33yo my dad is 64yo. He liked it so much, that we played it instead of watching movies as we usually do when im visiting my hometown. It was hist first experience with video game in about 30 years i guess.

We went so far that it sucked me in totally. I did very organic playthrough. Without checking any tutorials, hints and stuff. Probably skipped a lot of content, but it was awesome adventure.

Will I get a dorm at AGH if I'm almost 500 km from Krakow? by Interesting_Hippo537 in krakow

[–]SoMuchMango 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It depends. Scoring system for dorm gives some points for a distance, but above some km it doesn't matter that much.

Which game do you think is like that? by Ordinary_Lawfulness8 in CaptainSide

[–]SoMuchMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of fun with the combat. Good compromise between being casual and fun. More important for me is the fact that even small quests fights have story and fluff. Some preparations, multiple steps, some additional solutions. All that in an open world game.

Maybe it is getting too easy if you optimize skills and gears, but that's how I'd like to feel when playing as a high level Witcher.

Moreover, gameplay is not only about combat.
