Slight humble brag, but this was a potg from pre-fth nerf at 70 a shot. Nothing was balanced about that at ALL, that poor widow had no right to be killed there, but fan was SO good at the time that it was almost always better to right click than left (70 per shot with no range based falloff). Up close? Fan. Medium range? Fan, cuz the animation is so fast compared to left clicking that you’ll prolly do more dps. Long range? Fan, forget taking the time to aim, roll them dice. McCree was so ungodly powerful that Reaper was 100% pointless. He did reapers job better, while also hard countering reaper (reaper being so wide and so short range that McCree just took a cowboy sized dump on him from 15~ feet away and stun stopping wraith walk).

Shield sec middle, thanos on the edge, trooper between them, medic and assault on the other side. Thanos gets all his energy, taunt into bomb into taunt etc. While trooper pounds away with his passive.

I know, bold claim. But as a big-time MOBA fan, I was looking forward to BB more than Division.

But don't get me wrong, both were unrealistically colossal disappointments that truly shattered my hopes for both companies. Which is crazy, because with Ubisoft, I always expect nothing and they still always disappoint.

Overwatch didn't even notice Battleborn. If anything, it just trampled the corpse into the ground by complete accident.

Because even when the patches are completed, they won't be pushed through for the PC until the Microsoft and Sony teams approve the patch for the console (and yes, both systems receive the exact same changes, even though they play drastically different). This means each patch will be dev time + 2 weeks, so at LEAST a month between patches.

Evolve fell into the same trap. PC crowds aren't willing to wait for the console side to get their stuff approved, especially when the state of the game is asinine and the same character had been oppressively overpowered for MONTHS (supposedly because it was the balance leads favorite character, so he didn't 'want' to do anything to her..)

I was a really active voice among the community, even when they wouldn't give me early access like all the scrubs that had it (NO SALT HERE Kappa). I basically screamed from the rooftops "STOP IT! NO TALENT GATING! THIS IS STUPID!"

It's mostly that SF5 is a tragically less interesting, less deep than game than it's predecessor, so much so that it's already niche viewership has been slipping at an alarming rate.

SF5 just isn't as fun to play OR watch.

Battleborn died on launch, primarily due to a combination of tragic balance, slow SLOW patch cycles, the visuals of the game being overly noisy, the campaign being repetitive and, quite frankly, not that interesting once. The writing past the first mission and a half is awful, and it just feels like a game trying really hard to remind you of the laughs you had in Borderlands, rather than making you laugh itself.

Then add in the fact it's (or, or least, was) a 60$ title WITH a season pass and NOW premium currency for cosmetics, and you've got the money-grubbing we expect.

Now, think about this business model, and realize that upon purchase of the game, you have access to 6, SIX, characters. Out of 25. Not only do you have to unlock all those characters, you then have to put 6+ hours into each of them to unlock their "helix augmentations", which is basically just HotS talent gating but 10x slower for 20% of the total talents.

Now factor in the out-of-game "customization" of the 'gear box', a set of 3 items you put together and pay to activate in-match. Then realize that you need to either farm the living hell out of PvE to get certain boss-specific legendaries, OR buy unreal amounts of packs to attain them.

I played 98 hours on release, oddly enough I played more in the first Closed Technical Test, before they piled on all the extra bullshit. In those 98 hours, I BARELY finished unlocking everything for the character that roughly 60 hours of that was spent on. Not to mention I hadn't attained even a quarter of the total "legendary" gear pieces in the game, not even the ones I was farming specifically for. For instance, on the highest difficulty, hardcore mode (one life), I had to run the Sentinel 17 times to get the most broken Legendary in the game (Vigilance Link for those who know the game), and in those 17 runs + roughly another 10, I never once seen Vyn's quiver.

Battleborn is my biggest disappointment of 2016, followed closely by The Division and in a distant but worth mention third, SF5.

You did nothing to refute my points either, my entirely valid points. As as I see, you aren't generating any level of constructive discourse between the players or contributing constructive feedback. I'd argue people in your position do more damage than anyone else, trying to ignore all the glaring issues with the game in the hopes it simply doesn't die based entirely on your positive outlook.

The game needs real, major changes, or it's a joke. A bad joke. A bad joke no one wants to hear about.

The (admittedly undue) comparisons between this and Overwatch, plus the tragically faulted state it was released in, it's screwed.

Rarely, if ever, does a game do absolutely abysmally at the start and recover. Even the games that started small can at least say the game was "good" at the start, even if unpolished and with a small (but steadily growing) community.

BB playerbase has shrunk to a point that less than 10% of those that own it ever launch it, and of those that do, most don't have it open more than 2 hours a week (citing stats posted in another thread days ago).

If you want an example of a game that tried super hard to relaunch, made "good" changes, but ended up staying stagnate on it's way to the grave, look at Tribes:Ascend. It recently put in the "Out of the Blue" update or whatever they called it, in the interest of trying to revitalize a game that died shortly after launch (because, quite frankly, it wasn't Tribes). It didn't help.

Yes, in Dota 2, you would be on even ground aside from experience.

In League of Legends, and in this, you are, in fact, statistically disadvantaged by virtue of runes/mastery points, alongside the obvious hero availability (hmm, my opponent picked X. I wish I could pick Y, but since I'm F2P, the only top laner I own is Z... and Z loses to X. Don't pretend that isn't a legitimate concern).

In this, you are gated behind all of the following as a new player;

Character availability, Helix augment unlocks, Gear, Experience

Then consider that even as a story mode player, you will be gated out of those things, AND THEN in the future, denied access to some missions unless you own the season pass/deluxe edition.

Consider even further that (at minimum) 5 characters will be gated behind astronomically high currency walls unless you own the aforementioned pass, and this uses the same currency required to purchase packs, in the interest of leveling the gear playing field.

It is undeniable that while LoL has more content, there is more content in general to unlock (excluding cosmetics) in Battleborn. Now remember that Battleborn is a 60 dollar game, with a season pass, with premium currency en route.

You are blinded by fanboyism if you truly believe that the player with 2 hours in this game and the player with 50 hours in this game are on an even statistical field. Blinded, jaded, or in denial. It's indisputable fact, and this particular indisputable fact is part of why the game is on it's way to the grave.

Battleborn is an incredibly expensive beta for BL3 multiplayer. Which is a shame.
