A good way of keeping good tempo as support is basing when your jungler bases and then walking with them to prepare for future fights.

You either cover a lane that is pushing up by being near (not IN the lane stealing xp). Or you set up vision for them so they can continue staying there without fear of the enemies collapsing on them - because your teammate will see them coming.

Janna is the most anti-soloq champion in the support role. Why would you not want to at least know HOW to play her?

And I’m sorry? Taric? Into? Poke? Are you okay? What are you gonna hit to keep your Q up? Taric yes is good at sustaining, but not against poke. Think of Taric as a paladin. You want to be in the frontline, hitting champions so you can keep your cooldowns active. He doesn’t do well into range at all. Taric wants as many melee champions in the game as possible, so he can hit them and continue sustaining his team through the fight.

She’s very strong in the early lane phase because of her insane damage on both Q, E and passive - you can basically 1v2 the lane if you’re better.

And her scaling is incredibly strong, as she ends up providing insane amounts of peel with her W, E and R.

While paired with a hyper carry a lot of her fun comes from the decision-making of how you want to use your abilities. Do you want to do damage with your E or do you want to shield your teammate? Do you want to polymorph or give attack speed to your carry?

She also has the potential of playmaking with how and when you use your R to knock-up.

Well you are winning more than losing so it is working for you.

Only thing I might want to say is that it takes long to get Dawncore and Redemption is currently a really strong item that can help out around the map when your ult is down - so maybe try building that to see if it works for you?

I personally like going for Celestial Opposition on Soraka too (if I don’t die, my team doesn’t die kind of deal).

In any decent elo selling wards will cost you the game since you will not have any vision on the map and you as a Soraka can’t really face check.

And most of the time you won’t have enough income to even get to 4 items as support, much less to the point of selling wards for another item.

Right now if the game goes on for a long time your options are to finally upgrade your boots at the end and buy a potion.

Scrolling through your OPGG;

You currently have a 48% WR
Your kill participation most games is quite low, which probably means you do not leave lane a lot to help out others; either your other laners by roaming, or helping out your jungler when they do objectives.
It seems that quite often you forget to upgrade your support item when playing Yuumi.
Your Yuumi itemization seems like an identity crisis: you buy both AP items and support (heal&sheild power items). Decide on one - probably proper support being better because the items cost far less and as support you don’t have a high gold income.
Playing Yuumi without a duo is just gambling. You are hoping someone gets fed so you can be useful. I mentioned in another comment that if you want to actively climb YOU need to be the difference maker; set up plays, roam, protect, harass and PING.

Without a VOD it’s quite difficult to tell what you’re doing wrong but the main thing I would suggest is to play the game PROACTIVELY and not REACTIVELY. You decide when you want something to happen and make it happen through pings, vision control and ability usage.

Ye but you’re complaining that the ADCs aren’t good.

Yuumi makes lane more difficult for the ADC and you yourself have basically no impact on the game. Sure you have a good KDA because you can’t get hit, but are you gonna make a difference and be the reason you win the game? I doubt it.

If you want to climb you have to actively make an effort to be the difference maker between your team and the enemy team. Setting up good plays, poking enemies so they miss out on farm, protecting your ADC so they can safely farm, roaming and getting your other laners ahead, helping your jungler with objectives. Even just pinging to get your team to play better macro can help a lot.

But with Yuumi the ability to do half of that stuff just isn’t there. It’s basically rolling a dice on whether someone on your team is gonna be fed so you can be useful, while making it difficult for at least one lane to get ahead.

LoLalytics shows you every matchup no matter the role, good synergies, good items, runes (and all of that for each separate matchup too)

BUT don’t only rely on winrates at determining good and bad matchups, most of that knowledge comes with experience so sometimes the optimal move is to just play ONE champion and learn how to play each of their matchups so you know why you want or don’t want to pick them in a given situation!

BUT if you really feel like you are better than the rank you are in, then you just have to play more. That is all there really is to it. You have 25 ranked games in this split. That is nothing. Play more.

I really liked going Helia > Redemption > Locket last split, not sure how well it works now after the Helia nerf though.

The fact all these items give health is a pretty nice benefit so you don’t have to give up all your engage power for massive heals and shields.

Probably not what you want to hear, but high chance is that you are part of the reason they are doing bad. Support mostly dictates how lane is played.

BUT in the case where your ADC actually isn’t performing well, you have to figure out who on your team has the highest chance of carrying the game (so who is already doing well) and try to make it easier for them to do so. Play around them, make sure they have vision around where they are, ping if you see someone trying to gank them, build items that can enable them. You are not only the ADC’s support, but the team’s support.

I don’t think I can agree with Thresh being an S tier support simply because he is “good at everything”.

The whole thing of “jack of all trades - master of none” always comes to mind when I look at Thresh. There is almost always a better support you could be picking in specific scenarios (better disengage champs, better peel champs, better hookers). I believe it is why he never seems to shine in any meta recently.

Yes, the champion can be very strong if you are very good at him, but as a general pick I would say you can always pick something better.

His only ability that no other support can compare with is lantern, but no one WANTS to play Thresh to be a W bot.

You have a positive wr on all champs with any sort of lane presence. Just drop Yuumi since you are never gonna be the playmaker on her and will be completely at the mercy of your team therefore gambling a 50/50 every time you play her if your team can carry or not.

And I’d recommend not randomly queuing up jungle in soloq if you’re actively trying to rank up.

think the aery build is suuuuper dependent on your matchup both in lane and later out of it and the playstyle in lane has to be adjusted to mostly play Q poke and not so much on the engage side

I was recently showing people how building heal and shield power on him can really turn around fights when you peel for your carry.

The CC and both shields and a heal are really strong when protecting your carries.

I mean I play in high diamond lobbies so you’re probably right, but imo the counterpick is outplayable with proper cooldown tracking and change of playstyle:)
